Ditto for my family...my brother (2 yrs older) was the cheeky little devil. To this day I hate being poked and soon as someone knows that, they can't help but do it...even grown adult husbands!

Jaws has ruined me for ocean swimming (I lived on the Westcoast in British Columbia, Canada). That's scary to have Great Whites where you are.

I graduated the same year as your little brother (1983)

Day 2 I'm behind, it's hard to come up with stories. My life is pretty plain and boring. I used 2022 for the wrapping and it's so nice to not have to fight with it. I wish Carole could write a script to make 2023 do text wrapping, or a script for 2022 to see all the blend modes as you scroll through the list, like in 2023. that way I could stick to using just one program instead of two.

This is what my 2023 does too. I will start using 2022 for text wrapping, or not wrapping in a selection. It's a lot of work to have to re-type in which I've had to do. Now I'm typing my stuff in a Word Doc first in case I need it again.

My mom called me Suzanna when she was made at me (I am Susan by legal name). to this date I don't mind people calling me any derivative of Susan, but I hate being called Suzanna. Weirdly most guys like to call me Suzy Q and often I sign my name in various "susan" ways and many odd made-up ways too.

In my second job, I worked at Zellers and on my first day I had to work at this special booth outside the store (in the mall) as it was the debut of Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. And they had adoption papers you could fill out. But the term as I know it came from my parents. They would joke that I came from the Cabbage Patch (when I asked where I came from). They were way ahead of the times.

This is me! when I first hear of "carrot cake" I though ewww, yuk. I was an adult when I first tried it and it's my favorite cake. Such a pretty and yummy layout. And BTW, I still use a box grater, seems easier and faster clean up.

It's my last name most people stumble over. I just went with it, if it was anywhere close. A funny story, my mom was getting the washer fixed and the guy had the same last name. She phoned the company and told the receptionist she was Mrs. Ewart and could she please speak with (what ever his first name was). There was a loooong pause. Turns out the guy was not married and they thought my mom was an ex-wife or a new wife. Your work badge is fabulous!

I love these too, but I'm so terrible at them. Your family sharing the same love is so neat. All the family games layouts finally jogged my memory and I finally have a story to tell...when i get to the layout (had to finish a Lab first).

Lab 7-3 here is an alternate version. I took the gradient background and duplicated it then moved it to almost the top and added a blend mode. I like what it did to the metallic elements. they really look metallic now. I still wanted some color so I selected the "red" diamonds from the background layer and promoted them to a new layer and brought them above the blend mode layer and lowered the opacity of them (they were red already). I also brought another duplicate of the background gradient above the playing card group and made a mask of the gradient (New Mask Layer > Show All) and used black to block the layers below that have the blend mode so the middle of the cards would retain their original colorful-ness.

Lab 7-3 Pattern Paper Metallic Element2 Fabric Tag As it turns out I used the same pattern as Carole used in the tutorial, only because my P52 challenge is playing cards so I ran with that theme. I loved the Pattern Paper and Metallic Element2 tutorials. The Fabric Tag was also good but I did encounter a problem I couldn't overcome. I couldn't get the eraser too to un-erase. I followed the video and used the written instructions, but it just would not erase and I'm not sure why. I really wanted the fringe part so I made the background of the fabric available for a pattern fill, and use the brush tool with the same settings and added the fringe on each side. I have them as separate layers (fringe below the fabric layer) so I could slightly change the saturation of the fringe and add a bit of noise and the tiniest of bevel. I merged the layers so i could add a drop shadow. I used the Custom Playing Card script and the Lifted photo script. Font from Creative Fabrica.

I love this Dan. I grew up in a card and game playing family. Reading your layout brings back my own memories.

That is a beautiful layout Corrie. Good idea to tie this workshop with the All About Me challenge. It will make a comprehensive book. I cant even duplicate my vector when it's made in a selection. It just automatically goes to a straight line. I think I'll start using 2022 if I feel like I want to do wrapped text in a selection.

Ann! you animal! hahahahaha. I might have to invest in this book series. BTW, turns out I had a kindle account (for my desktop because I dont have a kindle) and forgot to download it onto my PC. I bought Carole's book on kindle too. Oh, me too...Especially as the Witcher! Yup, he can park his slippers under my bed anytime.
-
Yikes, I hope they don't have the same issues you had.
-
I could not duplicate the vector without it going to one single line immediately. I had duplicated the layout to test it, good thing I did or I would have had to re-type it all in. I just converted to raster and counted my blessings it worked.

I was able to read your moms letter to you, it is beautiful.

I know you are a woman with a grand command of words, so I know your AI creations will knock my socks off. This guy is gorgeous!

What a great shot Bonnie. I also think that's the best advice any deer or human could ever get. Love it!

Me too, I'm old, so "old" fashioned is the way to go. I don't want to rely on AI as I would feel like describing art would not really be my own work or vision. Like when I was a young child and used to ask my mom to draw horses for me. That's more like an art director hiring an artist, the art director may own the work, but the artist still retains the copyright (how does an AI retain a copyright anyway 😁). Still, there is a place for AI to streamline workflow, without creating the work for us. This is just what I think for me and how I want to move forward creatively. I'm totally loving what others create with AI's and love to see what they doing with it.

Another beautiful layout Sue. We are experiencing the same weather and smoke. I've been changing the three bird baths every several hours today. 6 crows in the yard most of the day with cooling off in the way your explained above. And lots of bathing. The water had black bits on the bottom and I wondered if it could be ash from the smoke. It's really quite bad. My eyes are stingy. I feel so bad for the animal/bird/insect world who has to live with the smoke. Yesterday before the smoke rolled in, we had crows, magpies and pigeons all on the ground in my tiny backyard, chillin' out (at the same time). Just last week there was a young crow and magpie hanging out together and it seemed like they were playing together, picking up a stick and then dropping it, then the other one would pick up the same stick and do the same. they followed each other around for quite some time and would fly up to the same perches on the roof, the power lines. I've never seen that before.

Ann, this is beautiful. I always think of Christmas when i think of Currier and Ives.
