  1. Susan you have such beautiful teacups/saucers! I like the layout but if you don't mind me saying so, the shadow on the lifted card strikes me as a bit strange. The card has a rounded edge and the shadow is a pointed. I think it should be a tiny bit more rounded. What do you think?
  2. Your trip maybe didn't go as planned but it turned out to be a great adventure! For sure psp-2023 is giving us all a headache!
  3. M = Mudflat walking, see my entry for the theme of the month
  4. Mine was late as well, but in the end we got it!
  5. Mary lovely and simple; I like your small cluster!
  6. Anja you do a great job with the Labs! I'm constantly thinking I should do them too, but somehow I don't have the time or the gusto to start with them. Instead I do a lot of the tutorials and store the results for when I need some. That works for me because I most of the time have a ribbon, overlay, pattern etc when I need it for a layout. I'm still working my way through the masterclasses as well.
  7. I'm here too and like Bonnie I want to learn a bit more about those "difficult" ones
  8. I'm so lucky that the printing service I use here in the Netherlands offer a binding that uses a flat lay technique which allows me to do a double page and is seamless. They offer it only with rather thick paper and only on a somewhat bigger format for the album.
  9. Julie we talked about this project and it is so nice to see the unveiling of the plaque, a great result of all your hard work! I'm sure you can make wonderful pages to commemorate the event for those who couldn't attent that day.
  10. F = Forward, the way to go on an adventure
  11. Many years ago we went mudflat walking with the company where my husband worked. Every year there was some sort of activity, like visiting something work-related but that year (2005) we had a whole weekend in the north of the Netherlands. Part of it was a tour with a guide on the mudflats or "Wadden". It is a popular activity because it is a real adventure. The guide had a long pole with him to measure the depth of the ditches we had to cross and had to get everybody of the group back before it became high tide. The tour started with a speech about the mudflats and a warning to stay together and do as he said to keep it safe. At first the going was fairly easy, we walked on a sandbank but later it became rather difficult. The soil became muddier and especially the ditches we tough. We helped each other because it was difficult to keep your balance and we got muddier and muddier and the water started to rise again so the ditches became deeper. I will never forget this adventure, but it is once and never again.
  12. That probably explains my problems and the following dislike of drawing with the Pen tool too. I'll have a look at my settings!
  13. I have no fear of small spaces but over-crowded situations is something I always try to avoid. 11 Hours in a completely full airplane isn't my idea of relaxed travel but if I want to see my family in California it can't be avoided! I must say that my last trip was way better, on my outward bound flight I almost had 6 rows to myself and a steward to pamper me and give me all kinds of extra treats and he opened all the water bottles for me because I couldn't. The home flight had more passengers but it still had enough spaces left where everybody could make him/her self comfortable. I wish it could be this way every time.
  14. Michele I'm so happy for you that you were able to finish this workshop despite you being so ill at the beginning! You finished on a high and with something we all could do to make this world a beter place.
  15. I can recommend it to you, if you ever get a chance to do this: do it!!!!! It was a wonderful experience, at least for persons without fear of heights. You are very safe in those baskets but wouldn't be able to enjoy it. The pilot of the ride I took told that he once had to do an emergency landing because of a person that became afraid and was endangering the rest of the passengers.
  16. Mary I love this layout! It simply has a beach feel to it.
  17. Today when I looked out of my kitchen window I saw something on the street that I couldn't immediately identify. Often birds are searching for little insects or worms between the stones especially after it has been raining. I went outside to have a closer look and it happened to be a small hedgehog! When we lived in our old house we had hedgehogs visiting in the garden, but here I haven't seen them around. This is a more buildup area although there are some small spots like the one where I took the flower photos for the weeks in July. The lady from across the street saw me and came to have a look too. We didn't know what to do because the hedgehog was in danger to get overrun by a car but he was looking okay and walking around. She is the caretaker of a Jehova Witnesses community center and lives on the premises which has a decent garden. We decided to try to get the hedgehog to walk into a box without us touching it and he/she obliged and is now in her garden. Surprise of the day........
  18. Donna you will be our Alphabet Queen! You do lovely work with all the alphas you create and I'm sure there will be much more to come.
  19. Nothing wrong with the photo but with the watercolor mask it becomes more interesting, especially for a card. As I already said on FB a good reminder of that technique!
  20. That was my thought too and I find most of her templates are easy to replicate in my humble opinion. It is mostly a combination of lines and circles if you look closely. I only have bought 1 template from her because it was about my own country and I replicated that for Switzerland, California and Washington State. For the numbers layout it was fun to do, but in essence not really a creative challenge.
  21. You made a nice reference page for those dingbats, very handy if you should want to use for something else in the future. If you don't mind I'll take a screenshot, so thanks 🥰
  22. She is working on the numbers and they will come to Etsy as soon as she has enough pages done. The alphabet is lovely but I don't think I'll buy it at this moment in time. Today my new glasses were ready and they cost a small "fortune". August didn't start cheep and it is only the 1st day of the month!😢
