  2. We don't have trees that produce maple syrup in the Netherlands, but you can buy it over here because it is imported and rather expansive! Maybe I will buy some when I'm visiting in California to take home with me. However that depends if it is affected by the import tariffs getting 25% higher in which case it can even be cheaper here.
  3. Your approach works well too and makes your elements not so shiny and when I need something to look goldy I often use the color gold that I have in my materials palette together with noise. However this time I wanted to follow the TUT and see what that brings, but I'm not sure that I want to use this technique very often.
  4. Nice to see so many familiar faces and I'm almost sorry I really don't have time enough to take this bootcamp on as well. I have my upcoming trip and I like to finish the Build a Kit before I fly away. The same goes for the AlphabetPhoto Challenge; I have planned a photo session for tomorrow to take the photos for the coming letters and now (this evening) our oven brook down. So tomorrow it will be a trip to the shops for a new one...... But I will check here once in a while and see what you all are doing.

  6. Besides that this is a great layout and a great achievement, it is also a geography rehearsal. I could name all but a few and have looked those up.🤔
  7. I belated Happy Birthday to you! Due to the time difference I often see posts somewhat later, because when you post them I'm already asleep. I hope you had a lovely day.😍

  9. When I started to think Gold I made quite a lot of golden elements. 🤣 I took the photo of these crocuses just a couple of days ago, they are coming in spades now and these lilac ones are always the first, then come the yellow, purple and white ones. The mask is by Jessica Dunn, I like her masks and often choose one of my collection. Then I started to make a golden crocus from an extracted crocus from my stash and duplicated and flipped it. Well I continued with cass-stitch-flower1 brush at the bottom and at that point decided all my elements will be in gold. Therefore the butterfly and fern leave from my stash turned into gold as well. The font is Arienne and I honestly tried it first in lilac but that looked somehow a bit funny and it became gold too. I wish I could turn my money into gold that easy, I could fly business to California!
  10. It is so nice to make a lot of those blueprints when you know how to do them. The building comes out nicely and although we only pretend this is a blueprint and the clouds are ok, I should remove them because they distract from the building itself. If you were to pretend it is spilled water, the water should be on the building too and not behind. All this is of course only my opinion, as Carole always says you are the designer!
  11. This is a very well preserved photo that old! I find that black/white or brownish photos keep their color nuances and sharpness much better then the older colored photos that fade out over time. I have a couple of those taken by my dad when he just started to use color film, that are now beyond repair!
  12. For the F, I used this bronze figurine, a present from my son and daughter in law. We received it 3 years ago at our 50th wedding anniversary. We have it on display on a shelf in our partly open closet. In Dutch we would describe it as a "bronzen beeldje" and the "-je" is the diminutive of the noun "beeld".
  13. That is quite a military tradition in your family! In the Netherlands are a lot of war cemeteries and some are only for Americans and they always have small flags next to the graves. There are cemeteries that are mixed and have Americans, Canadians and British soldiers even with some Gurkhas as well and there the flags of the different nations are on display but not always next to each grave. Most of the French have been brought back to France over the years.
  14. I like the tradition in the States that veterans can get such military rites! In my country that isn't done and only very few people have been buried with military honors.
  15. Wow, I buy them too, but they don't like our current house! In the old house I had one for 4 years, sometimes it stopped flowering but after a rest period it started flowering anew. I really should stop buying them 😪
  16. I have visited Monschau many years ago but the castle hasn't changed at all, at least from this viewpoint and the blueprint does it justice!
  17. Maybe you can use a floorplan of a house, or a street map and if you feel fancy a drawing of some sort of machinery, a Farris wheel etc. It depends on what you can find.
  18. I'll wait for you to find your files and hope you show a blueprint with them.
  19. At the moment I only have Affinity Photo for the free 90 days trial and I will certainly buy that one. If and when I buy the others will depend on the price of them all. I have to make that decision when I'm visiting my family in California and I don't take my laptop with me, I'll see how it works out.
  20. I agree with you! For me it is always difficult to explain how I do things, especially when I have to do so in English. But in doing it in Dutch and then use a translate app doesn't do justice to my thought process either.
  21. This is such a lovely masterclass and it has more ideas that are worth looking at. I have used those on many occasions and this was the last time I used a blueprint for the AAM-Careers challenge.
  22. Besides you having done this wonderful layout, the idea of a masterclass on doing such layouts would be great!
