@Susan Ewart I still have to have an "honest to goodness" camera. Even though my cell phone takes marvelous pictures, the real deal for me is the camera. I have a Canon - it's heavier than my old point and shoot camera, but it takes marvelous pictures. I'm not the photographer you are (or Sue Thomas or Ann Seeber), as I use the auto focus features - but those are marvelous features on my Canon as it has various settings to choose from. My mom and my Aunt each had one of those cameras that folded up like a "brick". But my first camera was a Brownie box camera and it did for me until I bought my first camera. I don't have it any more as I gave it to someone who collects "antiques". @Rene Marker Have you ever ordered a photo album from them?

Sue, I value your input also. You are a master.

I've had a lot of fun with finishing up my Travel Tale. I've made several things I thought I would like to show. One is straightening out a poster in Lawrence, KS that I had photographed and so I'll show the photo and what I came up with for an element to add to the layout.

I agree. Wish I had joined the group, but the Workshop will be available to diamond members.

Susan - I am with you! Love you to pieces!

Getting close to the end of the year. Think I will be able to finish this project before the end of the year. This is the day before our visit in the town of Lawrenceburg, KS.

I've been working on making preset shapes. I needed an arrowhead and a shield for some things I've been thinking of. They required me (at least I thought so) to use two vector shapes to complete each project. I couldn't for the life of me remember how Cassel told us to export a couple of shapes as one complete shape. So I looked at the workshop and in Lesson 2 she describes how you have to highlight all the layers and then GROUP them. Well, that worked and so now I have a shield and an arrowhead.

No, not done yet. Just a few more pages to do, but I'm just stopped for a bit until my mojo reappears.

My mojo has escaped again and so I've been playing around, This summer I took a snapshot of a wall covering that I thought would make a good background. This morning I took a square of it and make it a pattern. Then I worked on the pattern and made it an overlay and reduced the opacity to 50% and then made a copy of it and put it in my Textures file. Then I made a paper of blue color and used effects>texture effects and this is what I came up with.

Just fooling around. Made a pillow. Used the Vector Paint script with Cass' embroidery stitch (2 separate layers) and then the eraser tool on each of those layers to achieve the look I wanted. Playing with the inner bevel, the outer bevel, and drop shadow (puffy flower setting given by Cassel in one of our classes, but adjusting it somewhat).

Dee, I think you meant to post this in the Bootcamp forum.

@Anja Pelzer Thank you. Do plan on getting it printed. Likely to end up being about 40 pages.

@Susan Ewart I usually play with the Elevation when I don't like the color - lowering the number of the elevation usually darkens the body and raising the number lightens it. Hope that helps. Like your layout! You, Ann and Sue are quite the photographers. I'm one who uses the automatic settings - however Canon usually doesn't let me down with that.
