  1. Week 36 Jacks = Creamers This background was fun. Just wish I could remember how I did it. I started with a gradient then I remember adding repeats. Then trying out various effects, ripple then kaleidoscope but then I chose the orginal gradient with less or no repeats. Even when I went back to the different texture effect with saves the last setting, it wouldn't do the same thing so I wont be able to repeat it. Wish I had made a 3600x3600 paper of it. This paper has the effect lowered in opacity to 26%. I'll post the full opacity one so you can see it. Fonts are Antonia Retro and Fascinate. I think these are google fonts that came with my font viewer because they are the only ones that have tags on them, I looks for retro type fonts. Was actually looking for art deco style. I am surprised I am still finding so many different backgrounds.

  2. here's the full opacity effect. It might not show well, surprisingly this effect layer is a really big file.

  3. ...there are more words where that came from...for example...Math-i-macation! I hate days where I have to do lots of math-i-macation.

  4. I love the coining of a new word: math-iftying! You are so clever, girl. And the background just works great! Lotsa work, that.

  5. Week 35 Aces = Sugar containters! Hmmm, I've got a pattern going (with the cutout effect). I did the tight diagonal from the Lab 14-9 with the preset shape (clubs). PSP was being persnickety when I was doing the math it was making up it's own math, I finally got it to math-ify correctly and that became my tile for the background. I used the cutout effect and turned off the actually layer (clubs overlay) so the cutout is on the background layer. BG layer got a texture added (sandpaper). I keep the merged cutout layers(white and black layers) separate in case I want to change the cutout. I made dups of it and the background layer so I could merge the cutout and the paper so that I could select "from Vector Object" when I did the text. I promoted the background/cutout layer, added white around it and gave it a shadow. The 2024 and outer frame was is white, and blended into the background with a blend mode. Font is two from the Gill Sans line up.

  6. My granddaughter has a birthday Thurs Sept 19 so I made this layout as a birthday card. She's 10 in the photo on the left and 26 this year in the current photo on the right which I treated with PSP's background replacer ai. I used a Marisa Lerin template (ps_marisa-lerin_32814_layout-template-470_pu) and a mini kit called Winter. The font is Snap ITC. The watercolor flowers are from my stash, and I used cass-Datestamp4 script. The splash is ap-cherish-mini-el-paint-transfer.

  7. Interesting tidbit about the having to drive it backward.

  9. Here's my Lesson #1 - Setting up my Workspace. I opted to not have thumbnails on my Layers display as my layouts get too long and unwieldy with them. I just lay my mouse over the layer and a thumb pops up, which is all I need to see what's what. I also have several shortcuts on my toolbars: On top is Open as a New Layer/Rename; Copy Merged, My Save script and shortcuts to JPG and PNG Optimizers. On the Layer palette I put the Edit Selection, Convert to Raster and the Repeat command.

  10. YES, I would love to get them printed. I'm thinking of at the end also designing a back for the card. Because I have a tea cup (T-Cup...for Ann! 😁) I dont think I used yet because it's a demitasse cup but it has playing cards on it so I could use that for the back of the card. That just came to me today. Isnt it going to be awesome when we complete this challenge and look at all the work we did. So cool!

  11. When I saw Anne Lamp's Friday the 13th layout, it reminded me of the huge event that takes place every Friday the 13th, no matter the month or the weather. Port Dover is a town on the north shore of Lake Erie which has hosted a motorcycle rally since the 1980s. The place is literally taken over for the festival with large numbers coming for many different places. It's a peaceful get-together, but not quiet! This one, held last Friday, enjoyed beautiful summer-like weather. Photos from online, since I wasn't there. 😔

  13. Forgot to post a photo that I may use, not really sure yet. It's just a shot of Brandy when she discovered the aquarium. I think she was guarding it. 😉

  14. Lesson #1 This is the setup for my workspace and I have the Materials Palette floating. I work on a laptop and although it has a relatively big screen I have to scroll much and by having the Materials floating I can move it out of the way and still have the Layers Palette in full view. Further more I have a couple of shortcuts on my toolbar for the functions I use most, which probably will be different for everybody and the same goes for the Layers palette. This screenshot shows one of the photos that I'm planning to use. I intend to use more flower photos from my last visit to California.

  16. Been looking forward to doing this again, but I'm not feeling well so it's iffy. Good thing there's no rush.

  17. I love your cutout background, it gives a nice touch to this card! After 52 weeks you have such a great cardstock to play games with; do you have a possibility to get it printed on real cards? It would make a fantastic gift for the people who can appreciate all your work.

  18. Most of the time the weather we have is similar to that in Belgium, the western parts of Germany and a big part if the UK, all depending on the prevailing winds!

  19. And here I thought I was weird b/c walking into office supply places always gets me ready to buy! I think it's a holdover from all the years of teaching when late summer meant a trip for new goodies!

  20. It sort of tells the story itself but there is some additional "back-story". When my siblings and I were VERY young, my mom's sister, Aunt Molly was into ceramics and made each of the three (at that time) kids a figurine. She painted them and made sure the hair color was correct for each kid. Mine was the baseball kid. (PS, my brother Rick's is in one of the pictures, the blond astronaut). After my Mom passed away in 2005, I came back into possession of "my" figurine". Also, I had always loved the three gold leaf paintings they picked up in Spain and I now have them displayed in my home. One item each inner corner with two additional photos, showing the item displayed in my parent's home back in the day, and one showing the item displayed currently in my home. Additional note...with the figurine, when I joined the Navy, my Mom incorporated it into the home decor whereas previously it had always been in my bedroom. Also, my grandmother made each kid a ceramic lamp with the same hair color thing (I think Molly and she were attending a ceramics class/workshop together at the time). Mine was unfortunately broken at some point in the past.

  21. This photo summarizes the week which was dominated by rain, showers, downpours, hail, thunderstorm, cold and a rainbow! With all the rain I haven't been outside much, I was glad I could do the shopping in a more or less dry spell. Even the plants on my patio didn't look great; instead of watering them we had to empty some of the containers and all the saucers on a daily basis. One morning when we were getting up my husband saw this rainbow and I could just take a couple of photos before it faded away, it lasted only a couple of minutes. But the weather is calming down and the coming week will be much better, dry and warmer!

  24. We had terrible weather this last couple of days and I, amongst other things, rewatched the last masterclass Craft Your Desk. I made the office supplies that were demonstrated in the class and I'm sure they will come in handy on a later moment. Nevertheless I wanted to show them and made a simple layout and added some other suitable items that I already had done some time ago. The only things that I didn't made are the plant and the icons on the letterboard, they came from my stash.

  25. I am still fascinated by various fonts. The font I used is a called maiandra is my computer fonts. The font pages were originally created in Photoshop from an editable text effect called "soft" that I downloaded from deeezy.com. Once I made the letters in Photoshop, I saved them as pngs and opened them in Paintshop. I used the script alphasheetseparator from cass, then the Alpha stacker script and finally the Text creator script. All the scripts worked perfectly in PSP Ultimate 2023.

  26. Although I have taken this class several times, it still seems as if I learn something new or am reminded of some clever trick that I had forgotten.❤️

  27. Hi, Ann you beat me to the line-up! I have taken this bootcamp a couple of times before and always try to do so once a year. It is a great rehearsal of the basic techniques! I started my scrapbooking journey in 2020 with a bootcamp and I have no regrets whatsoever doing so. A warm welcome to the newcomers and don't be intimidated by us regulars because we vividly remember our first steps into scrapbooking. Who knows maybe you inspire us with your input and it is always nice to welcome new scrapbook enthousiasts! See you soon.

  28. First in Line and ready for school. I take this class probably twice a year when offered because it's a familiar friend and the layouts inspire me by their spare design. I think I'm in my 4th year here, since 2021. Now I'm off to see what photos I can feature this go-round. Welcome all newcomers! I love it when you ask questions that I can actually answer! LOL
