I got a little carried away with this 1st project. The sandwich is ham on rye with vegies and mayo, I didn't want anything hot to drink so I am having orange juice. I get sloppy so I gave myself some paper napkins. . I chose the tablecloth because I think I am going to be doing mostly animals for my projects.5 points

Most of us remember Annie with great fondness. She was one special lady. Thanks for another remembrance of her.4 points

Day 2 Exercise Here is my day 2 exercise. Just trying to catch up so nothing fancy today. I did take a shortcut to get my sandwich on the plate. I selected all layers from the sandwich, used Copy/Copy Special/Merged and then just pasted the entire sandwich to the plate. I did make sure that I could drag an individual item to the new image.4 points

Libera, what a lovely way to remember our dearest friend, Annie Tobin. ❤️ I was really shocked by the sad news because although she was having issues after the eye operation, nothing suggested it was anything major. She had a big heart!3 points

Beautiful table Cindy. Love the marshmallows and really love the monitor. I think I heard that see-through bread has less calories too! ?3 points

I have freebie templates from her that I got all the way back in 2008. At that time she numbered them! When she found out I had some of them around 2013, she asked me to be on her CT for 3 months and I shared the old ones with her since she had gotten rid of them. She has since updated some of them. So I've been a fan of hers for 15 years. Her style in the beginning was much like the Creative Memories style which I had done when paper scrapping and it made sense since she had also done CM scrapping. I still use her templates for 95% of my scrapping and these days I am challenging myself to use at least one template from each set I have of hers. Lots of thinking outside the box! I have been collecting more of the cutouts as well.3 points

Hi @ all and thumbs up for all your creative layouts!!!! I come around here because I have especially today Annie Tobin - missed and well loved - in my thoughts! May 16th of the last year Carole announced with gread sadness that "Annie passed away probably in May" Cristina shared her last words in January for many of us who wished speedy recovery after her eye surgery "...you are amazing troopers and I accept your well wishes in good grace. It sure has been a trial and all I can do is wait … obviously I need to have lessons in patience which has never been one of my virtues, lol!" I had so many ideas to create a layout and finally I add this one even if it is not my best result. Annie used to say "Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D".....3 points

I just deleted my image and replaced it with one that I added new art for the "grapes" in the lower right corner. Wasn't happy with the watercolor grape art.2 points

I do print screen and also have 2 screens. So when I use the Paste As A New Image in PSP, I get both of them. I just use the crop tool and get rid of the half I don't want. That works best for me because I'm usually going to save the image and can easily do that in PSP.2 points

This looks great Anne. Indeed you are in the right place. If I cant find the forum from the campus I just go back to the lesson and it has the link ("the forum") at the bottom, it says something like this, " Then, go to the forum, and show us... has. Believe me, we have all had to a lot of help from Cassel, when we got started. It was so new to me I didnt know or understand what anything was, keeping going knowing I had Cassel to be there when I got stuck was/is an amazing experience. And it's the first time I didnt get frustrated and quit PSP. I look forward to seeing your layouts.2 points

Love your layout! Amazingly, that is one set of SWL templates that I don't have (and I have a lot... over 42MB of her templates). I do have the cutout version of the globe though. Liz has had some wonderful shape templates over the years including the now retired cutout sets for all 50 states, DC and USA. She also had previously done over 10 years ago some state templates that had photo spots inside the shape of the state. She never completed the series and retired them before she moved to The Lily Pad in 2016. I have been using some of her cutouts as titles on pages and experimenting with different ways to highlight them. These were my latest (basketball done in March and the other in April).2 points

They usually have storewide 50% sales during National Scrapbooking Weekend in May, and sometimes again in October or November. They have also started doing a "Love Our Designers" event from mid February to mid March where one designer is highlighted each day. Quite a few of them will offer a discount during their day as well ranging from 20 to 30% off. Quite often if I see something I might want and it is an older product, I will put it on my wish list. Then when a sale comes I'll buy it if I determine that I really can use it.1 point

Unfortunately I do no more have examples of crafts I did for my parents decades before... But I add a few pictures of ones children do often during the advent season but not only in an educational institution (House of the Family) where I work. There are many activities and craft workshops/courses for young children too and it's a joy to see their sparkling eyes.1 point

Yes, Cristina, I was totally shocked and I'm really still sad, also because we do not know what happened to her.... Yes, Mary, we remember her with "great fondness", that's absolutely true and she would be very happy about it if she knew.1 point

Hallo! Ik vind het allemaal erg interessant, dank voor alles wat ik al heb geleerd1 point

I used to make things for my parents years ago and still like crafts. Recently I have been making bug hotels from tin cans. It's fairly time consuming but I could imagine they would appeal to kids as they are a bit cartoon like. Method, clean soup or vegetable tin cans. Need one tin and two ring pull lids per bee. Coat with acrylic primer on outside before using acrylic paint for decoration. Stick wings onto body by the ring pulls using hot glue gun (adult only!) Loop thin fishing line around tin and hot glue in place. Stuff inside the can with anything waterproof that insects like to live in. I used some old organic mattress filling and pine cones. Hang outside. The thin fishing line means they swing around in the breeze as if they are flying. (Probably makes the resident insects giddy).1 point

She must have been delighted knowing you had the older templates! I only got to know her after I joined the Scrapbook Campus, as before, I had no idea what scrapbooking was... And this what not immediately; I was probably looking for some freebies. I also have some recipe templates from her, and I used some when Carole had a Theme Challenge called Recipe... I had those templates already. The Lilypad site has a 50% discount on selected designs every Wednesday and, if I am not mistaken, a 20% discount every Friday... I am not a big buyer, but I take advantage when I see something I could use at a good price.1 point

That is good to know. I tried it and it worked, sort of. I work with two screens and it screenprinted both. I googled how to do only one screen and none of what any one said worked. So the snipping tool is the best one for me so far. I do use the snipping tool a lot and am comfortable with it.1 point

@Susan Ewart For the Screenshot, it depends on what you set as a trigger (I set it to use the PrintScreen key). You can set it to take a screenshot after X seconds so you don't have to use a key. I have to admit it is not very intuitive! ? Unless I need the cursor on my screenshot, I still use the PrintScreen and then paste it as a new image (shh... don't tell Corel/Alludo!). I do relate to that smaller slice of bread! Good one! @Randy That is interesting about the Instant Effects. It is something I never use so I forgot there was a palette for it! The shortcut to copy the Sandwich is a good one, however, one has to be careful because you can't change your sandwich anymore at that point since it "copy MERGE". I also use that shortcut, but not all the time. @Ann Seeber You are someone who needs her phone while eating? ? Nice book by the way. @Sharla Do you have an open-face sandwich or have just not finished it? Nice striped tablecloth. @Anne Burgess You made it. I told you you would! Now, it is time to eat that sandwich! @Anne Lamp That is a fun sandwich (and table set). I see you used various additional techniques! great work. @cindy harris Someone else watching a screen while eating! But it is ok, as you are watching the Campus. Cindy, I have to say I am very impressed by your exercise. I do remember your very first one. Do you remember? You struggled so much and were discouraged. This time, you even customized the whole setup, and all on your own!!! Kudos!! If you have not posted your sandwich, don't delay too long. We are all hungry... for a good story. Tomorrow, you will have your "real" project to work on. Don't panic, you will have two days to work on it. If you started late, just jump in when you can. You will surely have time to catch up.1 point

What a pretty table cloth. Love how it's faded or textured slightly. really pretty. You nailed the coffee color!1 point

It's funny you mention Instant Effects. I'm on my 8th time and keep forgetting it's there. Since you mentioned it I just added it and chose Hide as well. I am considering the scripting course too. I'm hoping it's not too hard to understand.1 point

I have taken the bootcamp before but a refresher is nice. As far as colour, I prefer the light gray. For background, I use black. palettes/toolbars Palettes I keep (but auto hide) Instant Effects - I have set up a number that I use off and on ... actually, I have had this up always but decided that Auto Hide is okay for now and if I need to, I can always keep up all the time. Toolbars I keep Effects Toolbar _ I like what Foil and a couple of others can do I keep Scrip Toolbar - I have saved a number of scripts and now taking the Script course I have not decided which photos I will be using yet.1 point

I call this "Dinner and a Movie". I watched a movie (tutorial) and made dinner (or in this case breakfast) at the same time. Yummy! I made duplicates of the onions to help as pep to my oncoming workout and instead of big pickles which I ate the last of last night, I chose those little ones (by resizing smaller). I think they are called gherkins? they are so yummy. I like them on the side. You might see my top slice is smaller. You know how it is when you get the end of the bread and you have a nice full size piece and the only other choices are the end piece or a smaller size one next to the end piece. I wouldnt normally have a knife and fork with my sandwhich, but today I will live on the wild side and try to use them to eat my sandwhich. All kidding aside, this is always a fun exercise. I totally forgot about dragging from the layers pallet one layout to another. it only took me 8 times through the bootcamp to remember, well, er...that is IF i actually remember this time. ?1 point
