Masks Workshop 2022

Christiane, if you want to choose the mask on the right, which is on its own. Using the mouse click on the layers until you have selected that dark grey box. Then you will be able to convert it to a mask by following the written instructions or by watching the video. Once you are ready to go onto the next one, simply repeating, by clicking the layers until you choose the layer you want. Once you have chosen the correct layer, the pick tool will select the box you want. I think that is what you want to know.

I love what Julie has said particularly about Sue's advice and Susan also (like me) taking up the suggestion of practice makes perfect; reworking a technique until the method sticks! Thank you Mary for the compliment on my last design. Got there in the end. As there are a few of us cat lovers in the group I practiced today making an image from one of the masks supplied in the tutorials to create this picture of Connie Cat. Feel slightly more confident now. I am now going over all the lessons like a revision. Thought you had gone a bit uncharacteristically quiet Carole in the last days. Thank you for your summaries.

Hello !

I'm a little behind. I fell hard against the ground on Saturday, and I had to recover a bit from it for a few days. I'm more or less okay now.

This is day 4.

A photo from 2011. The balloon ride was a birthday present for my husband.

The text is a font of FontBundles - Hello Summer - font, and I'm using Carole's ShapedText script. The background is from DigitalScrapbook (PixelScrapper)

I used the extra's again...........

This is a Dutch heritage project, the lino I made last year in the Love story challenge (now mask challenge), but could use it perfectly now. Instead of a photo, I used it as background in this psp file.

Doing this mask challenge I remember how much fun it was to make masks, so I probably will do more...........

After Sue Thomas helped me, I was able to finish Lesson 4 (Masks). I wanted something sweet and not political to counterbalance the everyday horror that is the news. I love owls. This is a photo from the 'net. (This was so much easier than converting to a mask as happened in the first 3 lessons! I think I like it!)

Euka, (#72956) thank you for pointing out that filter. I don't usually use them, and although I have a loooong list of them from my earlier days using PSP, I have never reinstalled them over the years.

Mary, (#72963) isn't that incredible how a simple polkadot technique can yield such a different result? Great work. As for the quiz, yes, you can if you merge the group, but then, it is no longer a group! :)

Anita, (#72967) that is a very delicate page for an adorable furry friend.

Monique, (#72971) accidents can be good, right? (#73005) So you are keeping all those papers year after year?

Christiane, (#72977) brushes come with two files: one ending in .pspbrush, so that one is obvious, but the other one ends in .pspscript. That last one is often confusing, because it is NOT a script, but part of a brush "pair". You would identify it because it will start with BrushTip_

Lynda, (#72979) yeah, that gives perspective. I have to say that I assumed that the trees were maybe 10 feet, but I guess they are smaller than that.

Hank, (#72990) I can see you tried to do the scallops, but is it possible that you were doing it on a different layer?

Fiona, (#72995) if I ever go off the grid, some people will notice in the forum :)  I am glad you are feeling more confident with masks.

Marie-Claire, (#72997) I hope you didn't break anything in your fall. Take it easy.

Corrie, (#73000) of course there will be more. You know me by now!

Julie, (#73008) Sue beat me by just a few minutes. The Fill tool can be finicky at times. If the Use all Layers is checked, you will have very odd results.

Louyse, (#73012) you are definitely having fun, it seems! Glad you enjoyed it.

Linda, (#73018) that is definitely a great photo to showcase!
