Michele Posted January 19, 2021 Share Posted January 19, 2021 Some pics I made the last few days for my gaming group. For newer members who don't know me, the game picks a different theme every day. Photo Freeze: The girl is a character from the game; the photographer is clipart from PinClipart. I combined two different background papers by Jessica D from Pixel Scrapper. Finally, I used Cassel's Winter Wonderland master class to create snow and the ice text (I made a little boo-boo on the second line, but it was too late to fix it.) The font is Bauhaus 93 as used in the class. Sunday Stripes: Fonts used: Tall Stripes and Rasty Lop. The original pic is by one of my favorite illustrators: Malka Favre Sky Blue Shades: Found the hairstyles on Google. I used the Antique Mosaic effect on the background. Font is Billy Signature. I like the Ice Text very much; the Illustration really draws attention, and the text and font in the middle fit perfectly. Credits: Template "Life is an Adventure" from Scrapping with Liz Travel Elements by Pixel Scrapper Marisa Lerin and Gina Jones, and Corel freebies. With the photos arranged around the globe like that the whole thing is very effective. I see you're a Super Fan so you're more experienced in PSP than I am. I just started doing layouts in June of 2020. At that time, Carole was hosting a Travel challenge and I started out doing double pages; 7200 x 3600, and then in order to post my work here I had to figure out how to cut each page in half! *awk! :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One of them has decided they like the rearview mirror on my truck. Cute to watch but a mess to clean. Michele, I also cannot find your "boo boo". I do love your creations. I started working on the background with the idea of having a grungy look... After trying different techniques, I ended up with 4 layers. It was trial and error, and it took me days. Everybody else would probably be faster! 1st Layer: white background (optional) 2nd Layer: Pixel Scrapper-2020Sep Artsy Papers "A Beautiful Mess BG-03" - Opacity=75% 3rd Layer: The Lilypad-Allison Pennigton "Simpatico" Solid Backs-Kraft 05 - Blend Mode: Hard Light 4th Layer: Turkey Text paper - Blend Mode: Overlay - Opacity= 32% I will add a print screen, so you have a better idea. : ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Minka Posted January 19, 2021 Share Posted January 19, 2021 I have written about Henri once before, but yesterday I went to the hardware store to get a monster outlet to plug in some old externals. Yea! They still worked! I found more pictures of my little Henri. Couldn't resist showcasing him a little better. He was such a little family pet. Had his own little carpet square outside the door where he would lay in the sun until about four in the afternoon when he knew he would get some cheese and meat scraps. Loved Milkbones, just like a dog and followed me everywhere I went. Two steps off my heels. Scared some of the neighbors. I had a fellow painting the inside of my house and he poked his nose in his trailer to get some paint and the next thing he knew he had a little orange head poked in there looking around, too. Fortunately, he knew me and my love of wild animals. He acted like it was no big thing ... and to Henri, it wasn't. I never trust a wild animal after the first growing year ... and Henri was no different. He knew my voice and would stop in his tracks whenever I called him by name ... he would run over to get a treat, but we never again hugged or romped. Once they have fended for themselves over a winter ... they are wild. They may trust you, but they have learned to respect and distance from human scents. I have had pet squirrels, fox, (gray and red), deer, skunks, raccoons, seagulls and all kinds ... but I draw the line on coyotes. No way. Henri was in a class of his own. I have a friend in our State of Virginia who puts out dog kibble near their dens in the winter and occasionally a chicken with de-wormer injected to keep her foxes healthy. Michele Posted January 20, 2021 Share Posted January 20, 2021 Thanks so much for all the wonderful feedback. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it; my confidence can always use a boost. The "boo-boo" was that I left one of the layers hidden on the second row of text. I have a habit of keeping all my layers until I'm sure I've gotten the effect I'm looking for. With all the hiding and unhiding, I guess I missed it. Lucky for me, you can't tell unless you look carefully at a large version. We are our own worst critics, aren't we?
