Since the Vector Workshop, Iโ€™ve been watching and practicing a few video tutorials for PSE and Affinity.   I wish I had more time to experiment with the programs and create something in PSP, but that isnโ€™t possible right now.

This is my attempt to replicate the Affinity Revolution's CRAZY Perspective Bending Composite! Affinity Photo Tutorial.   It uses the Perspective Filter.

Yesterday was my first attempt, and it was successful. However, when I tried reopening the .afphoto file, the app crashed. Yeah, this also happens in Affinity. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today, I tried again, and it crashed while I was adding a shadow. After another attempt, starting from scratch, I managed to complete it without any issues.

The 7th and last of the Vector Workshop for PSP. The knife tool is a very interesting tool. I believe it is used for the making of paper clips also. I'm sure there are several other uses to use that tool for. I tried it on the heart I made to turn it into a "bleeding heart flower", but I failed. I'll post this in the q&a thread. Anyway, I finished with the partial circle and the partial text. The text I used was Adventure Island Script. The gradient background I made with pink and green from my Spring Kit colors.

I found a new to me group on FB, Creative Scrapbooker Magazine's Sketchy Group. They offer a sketch each month.

I used the April sketch and flipped it to create a double page.

That's really neat Bonnie, love the idea of the double page and this kind of layout works so well for a large group.  And glad to see you back.  Now we must put an alert out for Julie M.

Very nice Bonnie and such a layout can easily be made into a double page as you have shown here. Sound like an interesting group, and it made me wish for more time to do all the things I like.

Me too and I noticed on the last couple of pages she showed here that she said she wasn't happy with what she had created lately. To me she sounded a bit down and I hope she will come back as soon as she is ready. Hopefully she is checking in to see what we are up to and read this and knows we miss her!

Back to the Labs. Lab 14 mod 4. Requirements: pawprint paper using the bubbles to make large and small paw prints colored in many colors - background (the background paper for the pics I made also using a different technique); paper text: the side bar: "a dog's life". The title font is Adventure Island Script.

I also think it's a cool technique, Susan,  and it's not difficult; however, Affinity acted up a bit when I was adjusting the nodes, moving faster than I wanted or needed.

Bonnie, this template is perfect for showcasing all tournament participants. Itโ€™s a beautiful layout for keeping the memories of these moments.

You did a great extraction!

Well, I donโ€™t deserve the laurels, Julie. โ˜น๐Ÿ˜„

It wasn't me who extracted the subject. I started to do it, but I didn't want to take the time to do it properly, so I just exported Allyโ€™s .afphoto file as a PNG.

This is one thing I prefer to do in PSE.

That is one task that works almost like magic in PSE. Can't say how easy it is in Affinity. It's a technique that can be very effective in a layout.

It works well in Affinity, but I still prefer PSE.

There are things I like best in PSP, some in Affinity, and others in PSE.   But, all in all, I like all three programs.

I'm horrible at extractions so I use Clipping Magic. It started as free, but now I pay $3.99/mo. for it. It's an online tool and it definitely lowers my stress level as this is all supposed to be fun. ๐Ÿ˜€

For quite a while, I was producing mostly really bad layouts that I would then discard. Then I'd start again and repeat the discard. It was so disappointing b/c working on layouts is a great stress reliever and distraction for me (usually).

Then a good friend sent me some of her old family pix which were mostly bad snapshots (the newer ones). I told her I could work with them and produce something more viewable for her. So that's what I started to do. It helped to get me back in the saddle, so to speak. And she seems happy with what I've done so far. It's interesting to me that the older B&W photos are much better than the colour ones from the 70s and 80s.

Here's an extraction I did from one of the snaps of her mom. Don't remember what I used but likely elements from Anna Aspnes.

I'll post a couple more separately, without the preamble.

This is a layout I did when I was feeling really down & out in early May. It's about my own feelings and reactions to life at the time.
