I posted this in the Fingernails forum but I'm not sure anyone saw it. The photo was shot by my very first nail tech for her Instagram account. I provided the cat design. The layout is a scraplift from one of the layouts featured by Carole for the Fingernails topic. The title fonts are Algerian and Bremen. I got a kit from DS by Esperanza - Paradise Splash Bundle.

This layout is one I have been working on in May using Affinity 2.6  the Photo is one I took a couple of years ago while out walking with my sister. The title is one of my most favourite songs by Sting which I thought captured the  look of the coloured photo. Font used was Berlin Sans Fb Boots are from Freepik and I think the compass was too not sure about the boot print around the page. I have used drop shadows on almost everything.

@kasany Lovely work Kasany, good colour combination with your grey frames and love the stamped effect of the swans at the top of your layout.

Finally finished lab 14 Mod 3. Requirements were pencils to and fro and I made 2 papers which I halved  diagonally here and a piece of notebook paper torn from the book (obviously the homework paper). The world globe and apple are from CF and the title I made some time ago for another layout concerning school. The photo is an AI from CF Flow. The font on the homework page is Adventure Island Script.

I have been working on a couple of pages for a photoalbum of my trip. I don't make a whole album with scrapbooking, just one page for every topic and after that page come the photos with some text if necessary. I do that in the software from the printing company. For my intro pages I use a rectangular format in the size of the album, so they fill the whole page and the printing will be on the full page, no margins. My pages although resized are pretty big so I have to post them here one by one.

The first is about the village where my family lives and if you wonder why the apricots are there? Well the village started its life more or less thanks to big apricot plantations and everything was explained in the history museum.

Number 3 and a daytrip to Monterey Bay and Aquarium. I used photos of the jelly-fish in day 7 from the Template Workshop. The 17 mile drive was a very scenic drive with lots (17) of opportunities to stop and admire the ocean and take photos. That day was rather windy, so the waves were crashing against the rocks at some places.

Number 4 is all about Stanford. I promised my granddaughters a trip to Stanford Mall to go shopping and have lunch and I am impressed with all the greenery, flowers and the cleanliness of the mall. Another day I went with an Uber to Stanford University where I went to a small museum The Anderson Collection. A collection of contemporary art from the Anderson family and there even was a small painting by Willem de Kooning, a Dutch painter who went to the States and lived there. After the museum I walked to the Arizona Garden, which has a collection of cacti and succulents originating from Arizona. Undoubtably I will use photos from that day in projects to come.

The last one is about the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose where I went with my granddaughters. The tour takes around 75 minutes and because the house is very big we walked more than a mile through small corridors, up and down stairs. The text on the layout is in Dutch but tells the story of Sarah Winchester, a widow and heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune. Because she felt haunted by the ghosts of those felled by the "Gun that Won the West" she begon a never ending renovation of her house. It resulted in a 24,000 square foot labyrinth with 10,000 windows, 2,000 doors, 160 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 6 kitchens and one seance room. There are doors leading to nowhere, staircases to the ceiling and windows in the floor. We have enjoyed it very much!

I watched a YouTube video by Design Method titled "3 Awesome Text Effects in Affinity Photo." It demonstrates three different types of effects: Slice, Rip, and Melt.

The images used are available for download for those who want to follow along.

It includes using the Pen Tool, Erase Blend Mode, and the Liquify Tool, which is similar to the Warp Brush in PSP.

With each new video, I learn something, but I forget it if I don’t practice often. 😄

Thank you, Corrie. 🙂

The videos and subjects may be random, but watching various channels and techniques is interesting because everyone has a different approach.

Sometimes, a little-mentioned piece of information can be very helpful in understanding things that others didn’t mention.

@Cassel mentioned using the Perspective tool when confronted with a photo that needed straightening. When my daughters took a trip to Washington, DC, they sent me this photo of an oil painting of the female "Supremes" which was taken at an odd angle. I asked for help and using the perspective tool, here is the original and the corrected result.
