Background paper by Jessica Dunn, Into the Woods, Grey Wood Paper, 142072. Paw prints by Janet Kemp, 98588, small doodle shape mask template 038. Everything else is mine, except the poem.

That poem is appreciated by we cat lovers! Love those faces.

I came across a Challenge on O Scraps using a technique they refer to as Creative Photo Treatments based on the Adamski Effect (which was new to me).

I browsed through the layouts in the gallery and was really  impressed, so I thought, "Why not?" Playing and experimenting are good for us, right?

PSP does not work the same as PS so I had to tinker and adjust and replace some tools to get even close to what they did. There is a link somewhere on their page that takes one to the video on YouTube that shows how to create the Adamski Effect.

I'm posting the original photo I used from UnSplash or Pixabay, and then the layout I made. Mine is not like the ones in their gallery, but I just really wanted to try it. The photo effect took way too long!

Wow, beautiful! Gee, I didn't know we were allowed to have the light source on the top right... 😉❤️

I'm a rebel.  hahaha.  The flower made me do it.

The simplicity of your calendar is undoubtedly ineffable. The vibrancy  of the flowers captivates the viewers eye. Which in my view how it should be. May I  make an observation? Check the quote. I believe the line 'are one it', should read 'are one of '.

YIKES!  Thank you for noticing.  I would not have noticed it.  Even though i've looked at many times.  The funny part is when i started posting them, I wondered how many spelling mistakes will come to light.  Thanks again, for having my back and for your kind words (that made me very happy).

Correction: Photo was posted on FB by Love Scotland, not the name I mentioned. I also grabbed a pic by Mark Hewer that I plan to use for a layout.

The image comes from Mark Hewer Photography, and I saw it on FB. It looks so inviting. Would love to visit there.

It's a 12th century castle that is still inhabited! Owned by a descendant of Clan Malcolm. Here in Canada, if a building is 40 or 50 years old, it well might get torn down.

The gate posts entrance was used in Skyfall, as James Bond's childhood home, were modelled on these.

My friends just moved to Scotland and they said there is castles everywhere and ruins that you can go walk around for free.  If you look on a map they are in Nairn right across the land to the coast on the the other side from the castle.  I wonder how far that is.  I really like the elk (?) statues.  Can you imagine wandering around that castle?

I've been working on the type of mask that was in the 2025 Calendar Workshop. I created the square first, then added the brushes, merged visible and finally, converted to mask using the raster to mask script. I saved the square because I don't know if I can remember how I did it the first time. I have created some brushes using a few AI patterns that I made.dsmask2.jpg.2ea7bdbdfbe735d0d51e664aa0373013.jpg

Remembrance Day: To honour those who served and still do. My wee tribute to them all. Based on a layout I saw on OScraps.

Beautiful layout, Julie.  The detail of the poppy flower and the red element over the soldier is very touching.

I think this is the darkest one and will look really dark as a jpg.

I just picked this one to comment on, but all calendar layouts are beautiful, Susan

You put a lot of work into it, and it paid off.  The dark ton of the pages just fit the photos perfectly.

I don't know this Adamski Effect either, Julie, but I am already curious and want to learn about it and try it someday. 🙂

Your layout might not be like the others ( I still have to check them), but I like what you did very much!

@Donna Sillia OK - bought the RasterToMask Script. Saved my MultiLayerMask and converted it to a mask with that script and saved the script. Called the script forward into a layout and this is what I came up with using the mask from the saved masks.

This picture reminds me of a visit to Scotland many years ago now. In Scotland as well as in England there are so many castles and a lot are still inhabited, some even by descendants of the family that build the castle in the first place. Others are now owned by the National Trust, some are restored and they are open to the public. Some are even free to visit and for others you have to pay an entrance fee. I would love to go back there and take photos.

Another photo that popped up in my online activity. This is a new one to me. It looks like a fungus but it isn't. Also called corpse flower, the plant lives underground for 51 weeks a year and then pushes up into flower for one week. Grows in most of North America, except the southwest.

Used an overlay of film strips and some blending. The frame is from DS (Marisa?). Everything in there from my ever-growing stash. Just as with fonts, I have to stop acquiring stuff! Could never use all I have already.

I had to try my hand at that Adamski effect. This is a sunset beach scene from Unsplash (Alvin Mecenau), and one that I put through motion blur and radial blur several times, then put it in Vision FX through PSP 2023 Ultimate - not sure if it is exactly the Adamski effect, but this is my result (I put my silhoutte on the finished project since I had removed the original lady.

I learn so much new things here in the Campus and it isn't always about scrapping either. Never heard of this plant/flower and nature never ceases to amaze me!

I got the Vision FX with the Humble Bundle but it gives me some kind of insufficient resources error whenever I try to use it with PSP 2022.  I don't have 2023 (yet) although I have a license now for the "plain jane" version (not ultimate).  I've been waiting to get 2024 or 2025 Ultimate when and if it ever comes out.

Daniel, I went ahead and upgraded the 2023 version received in the Humble Bundle, then added the Vision FX as a plugin to it. I have been having a ball with it as you can see from my postings in this thread. Go ahead and bite the bullet and have some fun!

I just couldn't resist this one! She is in the news cycle all this month in this part of the world (Toronto area), with her first concert happening on Thursday night past. She is doing six sold-out performances for 50K happy fans each night. Ticket prices are unbelievable, some as high as thousands of Can dollars.

I am not a Swiftie, but I can appreciate her many talents (including her financial acumen) and the coverage about her is better to hear about than other things going on.

I just played with it and had fun! Lots of blending and masks.
