 Sketch190-2024-06

Learning scrapbooking is often done with practice, looking around for inspiration, and trying to recreate projects we admire. Sometimes, we can be inspired by finished projects, but sometimes, we also have to use our imagination to interpret something.

This challenge will allow you to envision something from a “boring” base, and you will have to imagine the end result differently. The sketch is only a written idea, and you can fly with it, modify it, and customize it to fit your vision, your photos, and your supplies.

Sketch13

And if you want more information on using sketches, check out this article.

Post your project in the gallery.

I like this sketch but I don't know if I have time enough for it this week with my calendar not finished. If I haven't I'll keep the sketch for another time!

Don't worry. The thread won't be locked so you can easily come back to it when you have more time.

me too.  I'm cutting more sample cards to show the bride-to-be this week.  Measure 8-9 times, cut once...get it wrong. ugh!

This is my friend, Judy. I have been her caregiver for sometime. A couple of weeks ago she moved to assisted living. It has been an interesting, difficult and frustrating adventure. This was one of our last adventures before she moved. Freddy's is a new favorite for her. The shoestring fries make a trip to Freddy's worth it all by themselves...and then you get the ice cream and concrete! One of the best fast food places ever!

Sorry to be picky, but IT'S should be ITS Just thought you might want to change it in case you're thinking of printing or sending.

I had to look this up, it's (it has) being a long time since I knew the difference.  I've been using it wrong for many years I think.

It's  is the shortened version of it is or it has, where its is a possessive word,  such as 'beloning to',    eg. The bird flew to its nest. It's confirmation that it's on its way.  Saying 'the bird flew to it is/has nest simply doesn't sound right.  So yes, its is the correct word to use in  Daniel's layout.

Don't fret. You have not been alone in that. It just happens to be one of my bug-a-boos. 🙂

Yeah, me, too. Thank goodness for auto-correct!

Does auto-correct really discern the difference? I'm amazed if it does!

I know I've experienced it but not sure of the program... perhaps MS Word. I use it a lot. In fact, I think my MS Edge browser does it, also.

I think it's because when you use someone's (spell check added the apostrophe) name you use the apostrophe, like Susan's hat.  I don't actually have a hat, but if I did I'd have an apostrophe! 🤪

BTW, I like "bug-a-boo." It's my word of the day and I will try to use it in a sentence 7 times before the day is done.  Only 6 more times to go!

If you use that six more times in one day, you might find the people around you looking at you with a weird expression on their faces!

Here is my take on the sketch.   "Do I have my back to you?"  asks the owl.  Although they are 2 photos of the same bird, the tree to the left of the  round image, is almost a perfect match to the  edge of the tree in  the rectangle image, hense using the  techinque I often like to use.  Again, it isn't what  you look at, but what one sees! lol

That is so cool about the tree, I can totally see it.  I just love this picture.  What an amazing shot(s) and an amazing bird.

I'm  pleased you could  see why  I  used the technique I  did. Many things I  don't  notice until I  have downloaded  the photos, unless they are almost staring  me in the face. As I  have to capture what I  can when I  can when it comes to shooting living creatures.
