We had just heard from a friend that went there the week before us, that they had to call park rangers to come move all the rhino's out of the road. Traffic couldn't move on. I thought that was funny. Yup, POOL sounds like a great idea! Finding an alligator in the pool wasn't unusual in Florida. They can climb chainlink fences. I've been back in Alabama for eight years, and they are cropping up here. We eventually solved that problem by going to a local game farm and purchasing a wild pheasant, freshly killed. I always preferred the taste of pheasant compared to a traditional turkey. We always have turkey and ham. After a couple of years of cooking a full turkey or turkey breast, I realized that no one really liked turkey. Also, wanted to make a comment: If a word splits at punctuation, instead of adding spaces, I just put the cursor after the previous word, delete the following space, and press Enter (for a new line). That's an amusing story for me, Anne, because I didn't like it either so my Dad sprinkled the spinach with vinegar and grated parmesan cheese... Another food that absolutely gives me a gag reflex is Liver. I'm a protein loving guy but have NEVER been able to stomach the taste (or smell) of liver. Maybe some sugar on that LOL? Food like that went in pieces under the lip of the plate piece by piece when nobody was looking. Then scrape it all into a napkin also when nobody else was looking and kept in my lap until could excuse myself and deliver plate to sink and napkin to the circular file. I remember making my mom's 31st birthday cake and my dad writing 31 on it with little sprinkles. @Michele Office pranks!!! I remember filling one colleagues' office with "magic bubbles". They are bubbles available at the dollar store that probably contain a lot of glycerine because they typically don't burst. So there were bubbles on her desk, her wall, her computer, even on the ceiling! And for the record, we tested one bubble on our own filing cabinet (and had to tell the cleaning lady), and it lasted there two weeks (although it was deflating by then). @Minka Glasier When I went to such a park, it was the time when cars commonly had "fabric/leather" rooftops (the 70's) and too often, drivers would come back with torn roof because the monkeys scratched them off! I guess those roofs are not as common anymore. @Ann Seeber getting close to those colorful birds must be quite special! Do you still have opportunities to play some of those games even if not with as many people? @Gerry Landreth Simple story but something that surely brings smiles to your face every time you tell it. Yes, kids can easily misunderstand words or phrases they hear and strangely, they rarely tell the grown-ups so it is only later that we can laugh at it! @Dan Greenwood I know it probably was not funny for you at the time, but I could just picture you stuck on the roof and couldn't help but laugh. I made a seamless pattern of the butterbean photo and used it as a fill for my text. I gave it an outline to help it show up better. I also added a small drop shadow. This time it's just something I was crazy about since I can remember. Horses! Who doesn't love the majestic horse? Fonts used are Best Baru and Blustina (CF). I used a kit from Jessica Dunn called Wild Horses. The bouncy horse I found on a google search and extracted it as well as the Sears Wishbook page for 1968. I don't quite remember what my bouncy horse looked like but my parent would have bought it from Sears. the cowboy boots and horseshoe (blended into the strip at the bottom) came from Free Pik. I look forward to learning how best to shadow stuff like the horse, does the shadow go below the horse or how using the shadow effect as normal. Is this a horse laying on it's side on the page or standing up like it looks like?
