Julie Magerka Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I've never done a challenge before, but I needed something fun to work on and tried. I hope there are more like this.
Susan Ewart Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Glad to see you dive in Julie, with a very pretty page. Isn't it cool how different everyone's layouts are. I really enjoyed this one too. And I'm learning a lot from what others do.
Ann Seeber Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Julie: Very nice! I found this challenge fun, also. I'm waiting here with bated breath for my first hummer of the season.
Julie Magerka Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Thanks Susan Ewart and Ann Seeber for kind words. I'm in the mood for fun, not so much challenge these days. Haven't seen any hummers here yet, but the birdsong in the morning soothes my soul. Ah, spring!
Sharla Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 What amazing fun and different layouts. I enjoyed this challenge - it was fun. The photo in mine is a sculpture called The Angel of the North by Antony Gormley located in Northern England not too far away from me.
Lynda DiGregor Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Can't believe all the gorgeous layouts from one central idea. Great idea Carole.
Minka Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Fun Challenge Carole ... and loads of outstanding posts!
Sue Thomas Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Minka, I see you used England on the map of the UK. If I may, I'm going to correct you. I'm Welsh. (Wales) Which is one of the countries in the UK, as is England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, which makes up the UK. Queen Elizabeth is sovereign of the United Kingdom, or if you prefer Great Britain, or the British Isles.
Michele Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 It's great how differently (and beautifully) everyone used the DIY template. I always find inspiration here in the campus.
Cassel Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Sue, thank you for that extra bit of information about England/UK. I have to admit that, not being from the UK, if I was to look for a map to use in a project, I probably would have ended up with something similar, since I didn't know better.
Sue Thomas Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Carole, all to often far to many non Brits refer to the UK as England. Which irks many of those who are from Scotland, Wales or Ireland. There is still a lot of resentment towards the English, that dates back many hundreds of years. When it comes to sport, especially rugby, we don't mind who wins, as long as it's not the English.
Mary Solaas Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 So many different takes on the initial challenge. Even though a new month has started, I downloaded the challenge as it seems to be a unique and interesting template. Minka, love what you did with Queen Elizabeth; Q in my alphabet challenge is going to be Queen Elizabeth.
