    • The weather here was dreadfully hot for a few weeks, in the 90s F. And living on Long Island, NY, the humidity was awful! We're still in the high 80s, but it's an improvement. The air quality is better, too. And we're expecting some rain today and tomorrow, which should help.
    • Thank you Rene.  I had not thought about the printing aspect.  One day i might print them and I would have been disappointed to see a word cut off.  thank you also for the suggestions about the white on green.  I will definitely work on that because I think it's a great idea to change the color of the green.  It's very glaring isn't it, with the white.   and now I need to apologize for putting this in the wrong forum.  Carole, how do I move it to the other PSP forum.  I'm sorry, I had been reading posting in this forum and forgot that I was in Affinity and not the PSP.
    • Since these layouts were for a magazine workshop, one thing you need to think about is if you were to ever print your pages whether in a book or single pages. If you move the title to cross over into the right side, you will have something cut off when you print. If in a book, it could be in the gutter of the book. For a single page, there is usually a little cut off on all edges. That is one reason why I keep everything that is important (titles, photos and journaling) at least 1/4 of an inch from the edge of the page. Flower elements or paper layers I don't worry too much about as they are not the focus of the pages. Your background paper also IMO was fine as first created. Each page is its own creation (IMO) and should be able to stand on its own. Again if you would print, the paper issue that you saw will not be noticed by others as much as you think it would. As for the journaling... IMO, the green box is too dark which is why the white doesn't look right to you. If it were me, I would have used the same color as the boxes on the right side with the dark text. Honestly, with my vision, the dark then white text is hard to read. When I make my pages I make sure they can be read since many pages I see in galleries have hard to read test. Your font is fine but some of the fonts people use for their journaling in a small size are very hard to read!  Again, this is just what I would do for the pages but since it is yours, you need to do what you think is best.

    • I am glad to be a understanding voice for you.  The "Get used to it, you are older now" doesn't really apply to an impinged nerve as anyone can get this at any age, so I hope they aren't referring your back issue and saying that.  I was 46 when i had my surgery and I was lucky because I was in very good health and recovery, while long, was really good.  You are also otherwise in very good health should that be your last resort option.  As far as i know there are no "Age Police" to come and make you act old, well, I hope there isnt.  I believe as you do, act young=feeling young.  I think the "get used to it, you are older now" can apply to the lack of concentration, and some other things like, bruises come easily, muscles need more warming up for strenuous work or more stretching and other lifestyle changes.   It's hard to have been really active and then get sidelined with an injury or unexpected issue like you are dealing with, and you are powerless to do anything about it because you are at the mercy of the medical system and their busy timeline.  You did the right thing by researching and finding a quicker answer.  Waiting two weeks for the MRI is so much better for your mind, than knowing you have to wait 3 months for a consultation and then have to wait again for an MRI.  I am always here to listen and even to vent to, cause I know how much it sucks.
