  1. Working on the cover gave me the opportunity to showcase this elephant photo which is one of my favorites. The title font is still Wakanda and the font for the year is Witch Mystery because I thought it looked rather African. I do love African art.
  2. I just can't select more than one at a time to upload but I can go back and add to the original posting. I guess that's how this platform works.
  3. I added some elements to May; this seems to be working rather piecemeal. LOL My zookeeper granddaughter, Jackie, will be the recipient of this calendar for Christmas. She is carrying on my passion for animals.
  4. It is not actually a filter; I used the wrong term. It is the Blend Modes accessed at the top left of the Layers Palette
  5. It's at the top of the layers palette.
  6. It's the one feature of PSP2023 that I really appreciate. I can just scroll through the filters and see the effects quickly. Similar to scrolling through the fonts.
  7. I'm testing out how to fill the extra space. I do have some related photos, and in this case, I applied the Luminance layer filter and I like the monochrome effect.
  8. Monique, my goal is the less the better! So, I actually beat you! LOL
  9. If I'm not mistaken, this might be categorized as "hoarding." I sail right past fonts on offer; too many limits my ability to choose. I just looked at my Nexus Font and it told me I had a total of 659 fonts. That's more than enough!
  10. Here are September/Rhino and October/Oryx. After seeing the video, I find changing the calendar grid and font colors much easier! (Lock Transparency!)
  11. Susan, honestly it was a bit of experimenting with selections, brush and bucket and an all around pain, but it finally worked. Yay, me! 😉
  12. Here are May, June, July and August. Not complete but started with backgrounds, photos and the Wakanda font for the month to keep it consistent. I have added a strip file I used for the 2022 Calendar workshop so I would be able to have the days of the week. I'm glad I kept it! In date order, the photos are the African Lion, the Cape Buffalo, the Honey Badger and the Caracal. I will be adding details as we go along.
  13. Yeah, me, too! I wondered... 😁
  14. Nice use of the Echo Text script. Is that bird only on the Western range? Unfamiliar to me.
  15. I updated January and February with a background color and chose an Afrofuturistic font = Wakanda. I also applied those effects to April and May.
  16. @Cassel Your email lesson 2 says: "A calendar needs to indicate what month is on which page. There is no "month/title" on the pages and since any page can be used for any month, the possibilities are endless for you. And if you want to use one of those fancy fonts, I'll show you how you can do it." Now I watched the video, and it deals with the background color but nothing about fonts. Meanwhile, the templates do have months spelled out. I'm confused...??
  17. Here are my preliminary Jan and Feb pages. Waiting for the next lesson to proceed further. The topic is Wildlife of Botswana, where, in previous years, I had documented a fantasy vacation to Africa for a Travel Workshop, based on my admiration for the book series, The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
  18. Barbara, honest, it is ok. That worked like it should. The "overlay" is the mask. Nothing went wrong and you have no "user error" at all.
  19. Monique, are you doing "Outlander?"
  20. Another Out of Bounds creation featuring photos from the local area Facebook picture gallery. The frame is cass-painted-frame colorized.
  21. Decided to play with Cassel's Echo Text Mask-Family Sampler. I played with various group photos, but this seemed to work the best. This is a great portrait of my granddaughter and her husband from earlier this year. It turned out like a Word Art comp. The font for the title and side info is Ravie. Now I'll acquire the script so I can customize it.
  22. I've been having fun playing with this Out of Bounds. The photo is a local lake but the rest is from Pixabay. I experimented with the ripple effect. I'm happy with my creation!
