  1. Wow, Lynda, congrats! I love the name, Caspian. I'm just the opposite that photos I get through Messenger are pretty much all I use, and they look good to me. I do have it on my desktop so I can download straight to my hard drive. And I don't do a Save As, I open each file up and use the download icon top right. Not sure if that would make a difference or not...
  2. LESSON FOUR - MY CHILDHOOD HOME - I didn't get to do this in January so I used it for this mask lesson. The title fonts are am_intex for the decorated ones and Before the Rainbow for the san-serifs, treated with an inner bevel and shadowing. I found the bearded iris with Google Images and removed the background. The background paper is from Circle of Life mega kit.
  3. That's great, Harmony! The font is outstanding! 👀
  4. Beautiful, Lynda. Did you intend to use the large photo on an angle like that or did it get tilted when you angled the frame? It makes me tilt my head when I'm looking at it. 😉
  5. Emerald, this would be better, I think, if when you are selecting the pattern in the materials palette for your floodfill, you reduce the size to 50% or even less. See if that improves your opinion of kaleidoscope.
  6. Around here it was applied to telephone poles to protect them from rot in the ground.
  7. I forgot how interesting the kaleidoscope effect is! This was a little plant given to us when we attended grandchild Jackie's wedding. Her hubby is a horticulture enthusiast and he had put out baby succulents for us to take home that day. Originally it was 1/4 the size of this. One of my few successes with a houseplant. It did stay outdoors all summer. The title font is Vivaldi, the journaling font is Copperplate Gothic, the mask is cass-SimpleArtsy-Template01.
  8. Beautiful, Corrie! I seem to recall Creosote having a strong smell. Does the bush have an odor, too?
  9. Doska, that is a very amusing story! 😆 The description of the wedding dress sounds much like the maid-of-honor at Will's wedding. Here she is with the drum. The bride is on the left and the groom on the right. The officiant is just behind her.
  10. I did too, Doska, at my grandson, Will's, "hippie" wedding in California. It was held on the bank of a river and the bride arrived by boat.
  11. I was born the same year WWII started and manufacturing was all for the war effort, so my grandfather had to construct a wooden sled for me to fly down the nearby steep hill. I found this stock photo at Deposit Photos with a Google search and it looks very similar to my Red Sled. 😊 I kept it for years and used it as winter decor when my daughters were young; propped up outside next to the front door with a pile of fake snowballs in front of it. 🙃
  12. My Lesson Two - It's a Party! This occurred Saturday, Feb. 10, though his birthday was on the 6th. I used the same old template as last time. Discovered some strange layers. 😁 It happens when I'm struggling with masks, especially if they're in French! 😆 I created the plaid, and the balloons are a template from Marisa Lerin. I do struggle to align photos in a mask that is on an angle. I tried the Free Rotate tool but didn't see much change with it. Is there a trick to it?
  13. Lesson One - Magic in Colorado (with her dad, my grandson, Will) trying out an Arctic Cat snowmobile, called a "Kitty Cat" and her first skis. Background paper, Marisa Lerin; font is Mama.

  15. Corrie: I was inspired by your flower photo, so I did another one of my moth orchid, but as a closeup this time. Then, being on a roll with my iPhone in portrait mode, I also shot my succulent. (I will have to find out the variety before I use it in this challenge.) That is the extent of my house plants; I do not have the greenest of thumbs. 😉
  16. Amazing what a difference when you mirrored the portrait. Love it!

  18. Presenting a new member of my small feral colony, "Little," the kitten on the right. Short and very fluffy, it bounces around as kittens are prone to do. 😆 On the left is "Bae" who is not much older than "Little" but was flummoxed when the smaller one showed up and stole the only toy!
  19. Wow, this arrived 3 times via email. I thought you had the hiccups, Bonnie! LOL
  20. Well, in that case, I'd keep going and create an entire alpha in that style. It is stunning!
  21. Wow, Bonnie! This has to be the best D.I.Y. result. I love the dotted background for the title. Very creative! Is that a font or an alpha?
  22. Wow! Significant tradition to highlight during Black History Month. Thanks!
  23. L = Limbo (a musical game for the reception)
