  1. A really different type of frame. Very eye-catching.
  2. Since I used the date stamp (that I have finally figured out how to do with reverse text), I want to post the "souvenir" I made for the couple pictured here. They are local historians/writers who have spearheaded a project to install heritage (historical) plaques (large) in various rural areas and small communities (one is underway now for my home town). I am on the committee and involved with the unveilings that are taking place this summer, and in the future. This plaque, literally in a field (lower right photo), showcases a terrible train disaster that occurred close by in 1854 with a massive loss of life. It was the early days of railroads and there were many accidents, but none as disastrous as this one. The blue frame is from (I think) Natali Designs on Pickleberry Pop; most of the other elements are from ET (Erika) Designs or Katie Pertiet. I'm not good at keeping track while I'm doing the layout.
  3. Me too and I know there's instructions somewhere on how to do that, but I haven't found 'em yet. Great effect!
  4. I never thought coming up with fruit names could be so challenging! H = huckleberry
  5. I thought about a layout and finally decided to try black & white (like text on a page, or like life without small joys). To me, books are my gateway - to learning, to pleasure, to emotions, to so many things. They have been a very large part of my life since childhood. I can't even fall asleep without reading at least a few pages. The background stamp is from Katie Pertiet, and the flower stamp is from ET Designs. The cluster frame is Jessica Dunn.
  6. Glad that PSP and creating some layouts has got you to come back! It's very therapeutic for me.
  7. This is just perfect! Love the image of the girl.
  8. For years I bought my books; then I used the library b/c it got expensive to own them. Then, during the lockdowns, I downloaded them to my device (iPad or Kindle) from the library cloud service. I found that so convenient and easy, that I continue to do that now. The only downside is that they sometimes will have some books from a series and not others.
  9. Thank you Ann. I'm in SW Ontario (near Windsor) and the climate is quite mild here for many plants that won't grow elsewhere in the province.
  10. Peace of mind at a good price! I love online backup and don't mind paying for it.
  11. More flower pictures from my garden. May & June are the best months (here) for fresh-looking plants. By July, it's all starting to look a bit tired and dry. And by then, I'm tired of pulling the same weeds over and over. I used a layout from Katie Pertiet's site as a scraplift.
  12. That's not a plant I'm familiar with. Our soil wouldn't allow it to thrive I don't think. But it is so pretty.
  13. There are so many wonderful dogwoods that have such an abundance of blooms. I really like them.
  14. Is that bridalwreath spirea by any chance? Those bushes are always covered in small white flowers. (oops, just realized that Mary gave it the correct name)
  15. I want to be there too. I'm still anxious working with those things and keep having problems with nodes.
  16. Oh yeah, books! They have been a large part of my life since forever. I'll be getting on this one as soon as I can!
  17. It's wonderful! I am able to react to others' posts and comment on layouts. The gremlins seem to have been beaten back! I prepared this a while ago and couldn't put it here, but it might work now. (I actually tried to post it just when the Forum went wonky.) Just a general layout featuring one of my favourite plants in the garden. Purple is not a colour choice I use very often, but it works here, I think. Some elements from Katie Pertiet Designs.
  18. Congratulations to you on this special event.
  19. Let's see if this reply works!
  20. J = Jackfruit (never had it)
  21. Looks like you rose to the challenge. Love it.
  22. I live in a town named for the river that runs through it. It's an old French community right on Lake St. Clair in Ontario (part of the Great Lakes system). In the photo, the lake is just in the distance. One must cross the bridge to get in and out of town going West-East. Something not noticeable when you do it every day!
  23. Every time I read or hear about the endangered species, I want to weep.
  24. Gorgeous! That flame looks so real. The simplicity of this is beautful.
