When we just had an air fryer, we had my sister in law staying with us for the weekend. On sunday morning I wanted to warm the croissants I bought for breakfast and I had read that you could do so in an air fryer instead of the oven. Yes you can but you have to reduce the heat which I didn't. It should take just a couple of minutes, but in no time at all the kitchen was full of smoke and the croissants turned totally black. It is already many years ago but my dear husband reminds me of it every time we have croissants by asking if I have set the right temperature. I don't know why, I just did it once..........🤣

That texture works fine as far as I'm concerned and it gets so nice with different blendmodes and opacity depending on the background color I used. Thanks again and now I have discovered how well it works I'll probably use it more often.

To complete my calendar: this is the index for my Dutch calendar and I'll change the language to German or English but the rest will be exactly the same. I have enjoyed looking at all the different calendars that are made, or are in the making. It was great to see the verity in styles and creativity and I it has given me new ideas for next year.

And this is the cover for my calendar. When I was trying some colors for the background I got this nice result with a blendmode. Originally I had a very light color with a darker layer with my mushroom as a pattern. For the pattern I kept the outline of the mushroom without a fill and with this dark color it looks fine, at least in my opinion. Now I only have to make an index with all the names of the mushrooms , but that is more or less a text file with some sort of frame around it. I will print that on the backside of the cover and I need the Latin names as well otherwise my recipients in another country do not know the Dutch names and I don't know the common German or English names. Besides that I have to change the names of the months to German and English. So I'm not done yet.................

For all the pages I used a clipart from my stash that suited the month, but I kept them simple because the photos are the stars of the calendar.

Mai and June. @Susan if you look closely on June you can see even on this resized version that I used a texture you made for Donna (I think) with a blendmode. I used it on a couple of pages.

My pleasure

Thank you so much! After a lot of experimenting this is what I found out. I made a simple dark brown mushroom (used a clipart mushroom turned it into a black silhouette, colored that dark brown) and then used the cass-Custom Calendar script. I put the results on the pages and that didn't looked good, but I had used the background or foreground gradient for the background layer of the page. Then I selected the inside of the mushrooms with the magic wand and simply colored them with that same gradient set to 7, 9 0r 11 repeats. After that you can merge both the mushroom layers if you want or keep them linked. For the weekend colors I selected both rows and put them on a separate layer (delete the on the date layer) and used a blue color with the same number of repeats for the gradient. Hopefully you understand my explanation.

And here are the next 2. I tried to have some texture on the background layers for just that little bit extra and each month has a clipart on the empty space that goes well with that month. It is time to go to sleep now, I forgot initially to include the months💤💤💤

Hurrah, I'm back in business! Today I was able to go to the shop and buy a new mouse. I have all my months done and am resizing for posting. As it is almost midnight over here I will post some now and the remainder tomorrow. I didn't want the month names to overlap the masks because I know that some of the recipients of my calendar will cut the photo from the page as the month is over and use those later for making cards. This is my 5th year of making a calendar and over the years I have used different ways of doing the date boxes, like bigger with a photo underneath, smaller with all the special days with colors or small elements, completely colored etc. I also know that the recipients do not want to write on the calendar and besides that not all the special dates are in different countries on the same date and not all have a second X-mas or Easter day. Therefore I made little mushrooms with the dates, just to have something different for this year; I only colored the weekend days differently.

Donna I love all those Thailand pages, each month is so vibrant, and those colors suit you perfect!

Carole I'll do that, but it will take more time to finish my calendar, yesterday my mouse went broke and we didn't have a spare one anymore. I can use the touchpad of my laptop to navigate on the screen so I can read all the entrees over here in the forum and use my email etc but scrapping with only the touchpad is a no go for me. This week I'll go to the store to buy a new one and hopefully I can find one that is suitable for my hands. In the mean time I enjoy all the fantastic calendars that are shown here.

I had a bit of extra time last night because we went to wintertime and can now at least show what my calendar is going to look in a more definite way. All the month are going to be in the same style. The only thing I haven't decided on yet, is what to do with the extra space and if I'm going to give the weekend days another color or not. When I'm finished I will post the whole calendar. I'm super impressed with all the different calendars, you all are a creative lot. There is so much going on with all the posts that it is almost impossible to give a reaction on each.

Sharla normally I like masks but then I can choose their size. Like you many of my photos didn't fit well into the masks, but slowly I'm getting there. Trial and error is a good description of this proces 😉

Fantastic shot! Where I live there aren't any of this great birds, but in Switzerland where my daughter lived before going to the States there were a lot of them on the lakes.

good luck!

I like this sketch but I don't know if I have time enough for it this week with my calendar not finished. If I haven't I'll keep the sketch for another time!
-
Ann very nice and lovely to see the name of the bird and some explanation of it. Your calendar will be beautiful! I'm still in doubt if I want to have a solid frame around my photos or keep it translucent.

Through my village runs a railway track which is screened from the footpath that runs along the track by a fence and a thick row of bushes. It are all kind of bushes that provide almost yearlong interest. At the moment the Euonymus is still in flower; we call it "Kardinaalsmuts" which translate as Cardinal's bonnet and in English it is Spindle tree. I came across it a couple of days ago when I was running an errand and took a shortcut to get home a bit quicker, but I always have my phone with me.

I'm in too and have done this before, but a refresher is always welcome!

I just take one of your posts to tell you that your photos are great and very creative. I l see you do not use a capital to start the month name and that is an idea that I'm going to try because I had a bit of a problem with my months. Being still pressed for time this week I will certainly need at least the next week or so to get everything ready for printing.
-
Sharla you have great photos and I love the outline around the whole page!

Thank you! I got the idea because in the photo of this script in the store is one item depicted as a leaf. Besides that I didn't want the normal boxes because the people that are going to get the calendar never write in those tiny boxes! However it is convenient that you can see with day of the week it is. It took me several tries to get it the way I like it.
