I have created some memories for a relative using the masking procedure that I learnt from the magazine workshop. I was happy to learn more about the masks as I have always struggled with them. Helen is having a birthday, and I thought she would like these memories of a 6oth birthday, a win at the dart competition, and her precious old dog who passed a couple of months ago.

Well! I started out with the intentions of using the sketch. It didn't take long for me to do my own thing, once I added the photos. The background paper is the photo of the Immature White-throated Sparrow, blurred, overlay, and lowered opacity I added the rosehip photo to add a vibrant colour to make the page pop, on an otherwise earth toned page. I screenshot the poem to save me having to type it out. Blend mode multiply.

I think it's just right. Love the color! And what you did with the gradient is really neat. I would not have thought of that, it sure put the focus on the girls.2 points

My Page 05 Our 36 ft cabin cruiser was in the slip next to a catamaran that was retired from picking up downed flyers during WW2. The wind tossed that catamaran clear across the harbor onto the shore about 300 feet from the water. We were lucky about our boat that time.

Here's my Day 4. Hayden has a bunch of Barbie illustrations, especially now with the Barbie movie out. But I decided to go with his old-school collection. (I know it's supposed to be a two-page layout, but I was afraid if I combined it into one image, it wouldn't be very visible once I sized them down.) Pages 13 and 14. We have arrived in Belle Fourche, SD and visited Aunt Mary Lou. It is Friday. Tomorrow we will go to the Badlands. Sunday is the picnic in the city park with as many of the extended Solaas family who can come. Made 2 flare buttons for this layout. Also, did a postcard and stamp as that is part of the workshop. Always fun to do.

I have visited the Kite Festival today and have photographed some of the large kites. The stunt kites were not flying as the wind speed was to high for them to put on a controlled display. I am hoping for a calmer day tomorrow. This is a view of the kites flying when I arrived, requires some editing.
