Here is my take on the DIY. I should have called this Pink Power (or rather...Magenta Power in my book). I went outside one morning and this stem was all wrapped up in spiders nest. It looked like it was holding it together. I've learned these are Cosmos. I grew some in pots which turned out to be a good thing. Then i can move them around for photos. I have some in my tiny flower bed too. Please dont think I actually know how to grow flowers. This is a first for me. I put a lot of stuff in the flower bed. The packages all said to THIN THEM OUT, when the seeds come up. I thought NO WAY, what if I thin them out and ones left dont survive. Well, it looks like a jungle, the little LBJs (little brown birds) love it. I also tried growing sunflower. the package said 6-7 feet tall...mine is reaching about 9 feet and still no flower. It's a mutant. Here's the details on the supplies Font: I love Myself (Creative Fabrica) Paper for Scallop strip: DiHiller PSSep20 Paper 6 Paper for bottom straight strip: Espy Background 2C (Espinoza Paper for top strip: cpjess-campout wood paid paper 08 All papers from Digital Scrapbook Photos: mine PSP techniques/tools etc: graidents, bevels, texture (from Effects>Texture Effects>Texture and Texture from the Materials Palette), lowered opacity. I like the DIY challenges. They are hard but it's nice to come up with a plan and make it different than everyone else's (that's quite hard when there is a lot of layouts).6 points

I've been just playing around until the Travel Challenge starts tomorrow. Couldn't think of how I wanted to display my CFSpark Andy Warhol Cat and then I started playing around with my abstract paper I created from another CFSpark pattern I created and the hexagon shapes from the last lab requirements and came up with this kind of abstract layout for the cat. As Annie Tobin used to say - enjoy. I've been thinking about her lately, too.4 points

It's a good trade off. But dragonflies are special arent they? Do you have a big property. I used to live on various farms (horse), but have lived in the suburbs for 20+ years now. I still miss living in the country. Hopefully we can see your layouts of your property and critters you get to see.3 points

This was a quick easy one, once I found photos that had similar colours to the Palette. The norm for me is firstly choosing photos, and not the other way round. the B7b44e was used in the bottom element, where I used a photo, overlay soft light, luckily it retained most of the colour in the palette. The frames around the photos and the text paper is dce6e7. Decorative frame is 9bc0de. Background papers are 40524b and 618a84. Out of bounds, inner bevel on decorative frame, a little noise on the background papers to give a little texture. The little female in the middle photo, (I think she is a juvenile) is in a state of torpor, all fluffed up. I put their feeders out at 5.45am, as I fetch them indoors at night, as the evenings can get quite chilly, and the last thing they want is chilled feed. I gently picked her up, warmed her in my hands for a couple of minutes, placed her back on the perch, next to the feeder. She was fine, ready to start the day after a long feed of sugar water. I don't scimp on the sugar either. Every year the hummers arrive by the 3rd August, they stay for the whole of August before embarking on their long journey south. The feeders stay out until mid September just in case stragglers pass through. They are truly flying gems, with amazing powers of flight and often glittering iridescent colours. To me when they arrive, I know that Autumn is quite literally around the corner.3 points

OOoo Nice. Canada! I have always wanted to go there. I am a southern gal, Texas is where I call home. What a lovely DIY, Susan! I love the colors and those webbed flowers are to die for! So truly unique. I have always loved looking at spider webs, certainly a work of art. The quote you put on it is as precious too. Sunflowers (they get out of control here if you let them.. They seed so quickly). Symbolizes: Adoration, Loyalty and Longevity (such a lovely flower indeed). The little secrets that I can share: ▫ Potassium & Phosphorus encourage huge blooms and it takes very little, as sunflowers don't naturally need fertilizer (though love rich soil). (Some argue that they need something like Miracle-Gro or other all purpose plant food for big blooms, I have never used them on mine). ▫ Try to place them in places with full sun. (some say 6-8 hours per day, but my best blooms are in full Texas sun) ▫ Sunflowers need a lot of water to germinate, but require very little during the growing season. (I think this is one of the best secrets). ▫ Deadhead the flowers just a bit under the flower, usually to the nearest stem. Not cutting too much stem as they will reproduce mere inches away. ( Once you start getting the blooms, this will encourage a lot of blooms during the season) Do your plants show any bulbs at all? Perhaps they have not started yet? If you planted them via seeds, they could take up to 4 months to begin budding. Good luck! I hope they will thrive for you soon! ?2 points

•✿• How truly beautiful, Sue. I love the yellows! The way you displayed the pictures, is fabulous. That border brush is lovely too!2 points

I downloaded the freebie template in the creation cassel blog. I started it, but then I did my own thing. I won the border frame brushes a short while back, and hadn't had a chance to use them until this evening. For the large photo of the Yellow warblers I created a watercolour effect. It's background paper is a photo of some trees out back, which I took the other day. Overlay. I created my own date stamp, copying the latest date stamp script in the store.2 points

Although it was not announced previously, I finally finished extra templates for our DIAMOND members. Stay tuned!2 points

Lab 6 Module 8 Experiment 04 Sketch Idea- One Photo Focus This photo is glued to a metal plaque and judging by age of the uncle was taken in the 1920's. I used a scanner to get it into the computer. The question I most receive is what the white thing? It is a lace cuff used to keep the dress clean in those days.1 point

This is fabulous. right up my alley. CF Spark was made for you. I was fairly new at the time, Annie was still posting. I was in awe of her layouts...as I was with pretty much everyones layouts.1 point

I am in a small city in Alberta, Canada. Close to a bigger city. Lots of rural areas close by though if I need a country fix. I'm not a fan of the big cities either. Where are you in the world?1 point

Hi Susan! I live on a farm indeed. I love it. I sure bet you miss it at times, there is nothing like it. Most acreage is used for agriculture (wheat this year) and a handful of horses and cattle closer to the homestead. I also have a vegetable garden and many fruit tress. I love to make my own jams and pickles. Then of course the pickled okra! Yummy! I am just over an hour away from the big city, so when I have to go for groceries, appointments, etc. I make a full day of it so that I can stay afloat for a month or two. The cities are just getting too large for my taste anymore. Where do you live now?1 point

They are.. I used to see them in swarms here on the property. But have noticed a decline in the amount the last year or so. But in their place, I have been seeing more hummingbirds. So the trade off is nice! = )`1 point

Anita, you are putting me to shame!!! Cassel, I am missing something because near the end, right when you start adding the bottom text, which is 7:52 on the Lesson 5 Vector Video, "reverse path" doesn't show up as a choice (it's grayed out). In frustration, I clicked around trying to figure out what went wrong, and I fixed it. Um, but I don't know what I did because it was the equivalent of a PSP temper tantrum. When I look at the settings, though, I am in edit mode (my half eaten tom and jerry fish is backlighted), but there is no instruction to do that!) Is this enough of a question that you can figure out what I'm doing wrong? Updated to add -- I have been re-trying this and re-reading, and I have since deleted the top text (which would be visible, if the bottom layer were turned on, but it's not.) as per your photos, but it still isn't working. I cannot get the "reverse path" to be visible. Question: When I duplicate, am I also duplicating the instruction where it has been converted to path, or do I have to do that again?1 point

Here is Lesson 6, with different PSP Tubes on a Rectangular shape. I used Carole's Tubes: Gold Rope, Blue Rope, Silver Lined Red Seed Bead String, and Opaque Seed Bead Ivory String Tube. Thank you Carole for these great tubes. This was a lot of fun. Now I will continue to place text on a path around a letter.1 point

Here is Vdectors Lesson 5. I am slowly making progressd. The Mountain range in Germany is called Watzman. The Watzmann is a mountain in the Berchtesgaden Alps south of the village of Berchtesgaden. It is the third highest in Germany, and the highest located entirely on German territory. Three main peaks array on a N-S axis along a ridge on the mountain's taller western half: Hocheck, Mittelspitze and Südspitze. This majestic mountain offers hiking, climbing, a glacier & ice fields.1 point

Lab 11d Mod 5: hexagon shape, smudge brush, dictionary copy: All done - (smudge brush was used in the bottom left corner and top right corner. The picture is one generated by me in CFSpark (asked for a cat on a rug by a fireplace) - used the white overlay reduced to 10% and then overlayed one of Susan Ewert's cracked paint overlays with reduced opacity just to give the frosted glass some depth ; the papers are my own. Made several ribbons or paper strips of different hexagons I'll post them also.1 point

I'm in. I have enjoyed doing a Travel Tale in the past and once I had exhausted my personal travels I decided to make fantasy travel pages. Last time I "went" to Botswana, in Southern Africa, because I'm a fan of the book series The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith which is set in that country and I always wanted to experience it IRL. I need to decide where I'm traveling to next but there's still time between now and Aug 21. Here is an example of my work:1 point

Thank you so much, the font on the datestamp is the same as on the text: Perfectly Vintages, a freebie from Creative Fabrica some time ago. I have a lot of their freebie fonts; I download what I like and when I'm doing a project like this it is great to have suitable fonts to use with the theme of that project.1 point
