I have always loved that kind of perspective as is shown in this photo with the poles and wires.

I used Effects> photo effects> Time Machine>Early color.  The frame doesn't have transparency on the outside of the scalloped edged, I wonder why.  I had to do some selecting to delete them.  I'll be asking that question in the next Q&A, how I can use that effect but have transparency past the outer edge of the frame.  Wish it also put the frame on another layer, I was able to select and do it, but I'm sure I did everything the long hard way.  Still I like the effect.  I used an art deco background with a another color above and used a blend mode.  Picked an Art Deco font. 

 

Beautiful! I love Art Deco ever since as a small child I stayed at my uncle's farm and that is how my wealthy aunt decorated the house. I was in awe!

I think it might be a ice tea container perhaps.  the silver thing in the middle is like metal flask that has a screw top.  I imagined it to be filled with ice.  Can you imagine seeing water and lemons floating around in it.  Of course I'd never drink from these older metal tea pots, sugar and creamer as they are full of lead I've read.  They make great photo props though.  I'm still surprised I havent dropped and broken it yet.

I would have loved to see that.  I love the old Poirot movies (from the UK with David Suchet), such cool decor.

Week 47

I might be early for this, it's really busy week at work with many extra jobs so I'm trying to get a head of the game. 

This was a surprise one for me.  It came together very quickly and was born out of making a mistake and running with it.  I chose a gradient and forgot to check if 'use all layers' box was unchecked.  When I flood filled it only filled the middle portion (inside of the frame). I thought it would be cool to invert the gradient and flood fill a new layer.  I stretched the top of the new layer to get the lines to line up.  I didn't know what color to make the font and the outline and parts of the vector were cutout from the mistaken flood filled layer.  I hid the Vector layer and this is the result.  I added the blinds texture to the outside (you can see it in the cut out vector parts too) and a texture to the inside of the frame.

Mistakes sometimes happen to be a blessing in disguise and give the most unexpected results! This is a very nice "mistake".

Those clouds would make a great base for making papers.  Great shot.  Clouds are so interesting to watch.

Week 47 Hexham Abbey has been hosting an exhibition called ‘Threads through Creation’ by the textile artist Jacqui Parkinson. It consists of twelve very large panels that absolute pulsate with colour and life. Because of their size and the way they were lit it was hard to photograph them in their entirety.  This photo is just part of a panel that illustrates the creation of life in the sky and sea. The detail and amount of work in each of them was phenomenal.

I have been a bit absent here and in the Text Workshop because the co-ordinator from our swim groups had her 85th birthday. After our weekly swim class on Thursday we organized a buffet for her and my part was taking the photos and make a photo album plus helping where needed. The last couple of days I have been busy selecting the photos and making the album, which is now at the printers. I can't show most of those photos because of all the people in them, but I can show something of that buffet. I made a little cluster with the stacked alpha script for the 8 and 5 with a bouquet from my stash and have that on some of the pages in the album, so it runs as a theme through it.

Almost forgot to post my Week 46 - I finished it last week but got caught up in the Text Workshop and am still struggling with #7. Here's Deb's Mendo Zendo, her Airbnb/Gallery/art studio in CA. Deb says this building is a "sort-of-greenhouse." 😁

Week 48

I used the Vector tube around the frame and had to use the trick of objects>Convert to Path.  I love that.  Background is two papers from Riley B Graphics (CF) blended.  then I added a half tone effect (using the random button), then added a texture.  Small shadow on the "Week Forty-Eight", just enough to make it stand out.  Left 2024 black and less noticeable on purpose.  The rope is a cass rope picture tube...I need more picture tubes.  they are really handy and you can never have enough.  I did tweak the color after the fact to match.  Fonts are  Soulmate Garden and Arial Black (CF & Windows).  

We are almost there.  I'm blown away we've been able to do this and make it (hopefully) to the end.

I actually had a few extra.  I had wanted to do all the project in tea cups but didnt have 54 (2 is for the jokers) in total, so that's when I did tea pots and sugar and creamers.  Tea cups are little works of art I can afford.  Still, I have too many and did cull them, but I need to do it again and again.  Maybe just keep 12 or so.

I'm pretty sure we now make it to the end! We are almost there and it was a great experience to do this with you ladies and some guys as well. Your teacups, saucers teapots and sugar bowls are fantastic, so I'm looking forward to the couple of weeks.

Thank you Corrie.  The feeling is mutual.  We all did it together and it was so fun to open the forum and see what your weeks looked like.  It's neat to see the glimpse into your daily lives.  Next up the Build A Kit 2025 where for sure this time I will stick to a much small kits(s)...hahaha I added the 's' knowing my little kit will balloon into a mega one.  I'm looking forward to it.  I hope we get lots of people joining us.

Week 48  At the start of the week it was crisp and cool. This photo was taken just as the sun had set but there was still some light in the sky. I like trees in the winter simply because you get to see the amazing shapes they have.

I love this Sharla and I love the trees in winter too.  Such wonderful graphic shapes.
