Cassel Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Here is a challenge to do something that might not be repeated in other months. Just an idea that popped like that (and you can also send me suggestions for occasional random challenges too). This time, use a single photo but use it to cover the whole page. You can add effects to the photo or showcase it in all its original splendor. Add a title and journaling however you want, but it will have to be on top of the photo itself. Here is one example of a large photo using the whole space. For other ideas to use large photos, check out this article. Post your project in the gallery. 1
Ann Seeber Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Just an example of using this technique, here's part of a double layout I did for my granddaughter's honeymoon in Feb 2022. 6
Ann Seeber Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Here's the other half of the double honeymoon layout... 6
Bonnie Ballentine Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I have used this technique several times. I like it! Here is one: 4 3
Julie Magerka Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 (edited) After going through my stash of photos, I realize I could do this challenge for weeks with all the uninteresting or bad pix I have! But it's a great way to use a boring photo. I made the "hola" text using individual images for each letter for the first time! That was fun. (Some edges on frames still a bit ragged....oops!) Sherie Dracup Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I did this layout for a photobook I made from my trip to Newfoundland. 3 4
Sue Thomas Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) A British native woodland and hedgerow flower. This particular layout is one that I do quite often. Adjustment layers. Edited January 29, 2023 by Sue Thomas 1 5
Bonnie Ballentine Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 From 2018. My friend and her brother. 2 1 3
Rene Marker Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) I've used this style several times in the past. This was from my uncle's funeral in 2016. He was a retired firefighter and the procession from the funeral home to the cemetery went by the fire station. Edited January 29, 2023 by Rene Marker 7
Rene Marker Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Another one was from a scrapbooking retreat I went to in 2009 in Lynchburg, VA. The one and only time I had anything from Starbucks. Not a coffee drinker and no stores in my town. 6
Rene Marker Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 And, one of my absolute favorites using a large photo was done back in 2008 not long after I started digital scrapping. 5 3
Corrie Kinkel Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I often use one of my photos as a background, but mostly with an effect, a blur etc. Here is no effect on the photo other then a reduced opacity and one flower with 100% opacity and a little frame. There is a glassframe round the whole page done with a script that I found somewhere. The only other element is a tag with the name of the flower on it. The font used is Winter Vibes, a freebie from CF. The photo of the hyacinth was taken a couple of days ago, not outside but in my living where I have a container with 3 hyacinths in it. You can buy this specially prepared bulbs for indoor use everywhere in this time of the year. I wish I could incorporate the smell, because my whole room smells delicious! 4
Mary Solaas Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Well, since we are using some of the things we have done before ... 1 1
Mary Solaas Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 and again - and then I really have to get back to chores. 2
