I love dandelions even though there are none in my grass. My flower bed had some nice big ones that I managed to photograph before the landscaper put weed killer on them. I extracted the fluffy dandelion and added it to my dandelion picture with some extra leaves that were also extracted. The seeds were created using Particle Shop; the sky background is from a desert sky sent by my grandson. The mossy boards are from a photo sent to me by my daughter. Font is Anabel 1 grunge.

I love them too!  And my yard is full of them.  I made a deal with DH Rob (Darling Husband Rob) that he could mow the front yard but I got the backyard left alone until I finished with the little beauties.  they are dont now and I did manage to get to shots (portraits mostly in the studio).  I am working on another layout with them.  Your's is a beauty, perfectly perfect.  they are the happiest of flowers.

    Yes, that is great.

I had considered closing this thread to comments, but I thought it might also need a space for questions about those rules and sharing.

Yes, there will always be questions.  Usually I just go from the link in my notification email and it takes me to the post so I forget what's at the top of the page.  It's good to be reminded to look where I am before I "speak".

May I suggest that you would post on a separate thread so that the thread name would direct the viewers? Since this very thread is about the "rules for sharing", it might not be seen by those browsing to find shared items.

I made a new post.  Is this correct?  thanks for reminding me, sometime I forget to look at topic of the original post.

I do watch all of them too. Poor Jack... He has no say in his own precinct, as she is the one asking the questions. LOL... We watched Behind the Scenes Season 3, and they talked about her clothes... Another old show from Australia we liked is The Doctor Blake Mysteries... But they are not always available.

I think you can download them from YouTube... not sure.

I will look for The Doctor Blake Mysteries.  Thank you.  We did watch the season 1 behind the scene and see that season two has one as well.  I enjoy behind the scenes shows.  She is the woman every woman would like to be for sure.  I think I'm more like Dot....but not as smart or capable with a thread and needle. ?  Thanks for giving us a new show to look for.  Since we gave up Netflix we've been watching a lot of good shows in U-tube.

Susan, I really like what you created. I think the result is great!

By the way, any chance this was a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries you were watching?

Oh yes, and it's just the best show.  Jack has the most beautiful voice wouldnt you say.  And Phryne, her clothes and just the way she is, love it.  It's a fabulous show.  We are getting it (in Canada) on utube...until our powers that be cut us off that is.  We were watching Poirot, Miss Marple and other Agatha Christie movies and now our govt has blocked those due to new legislation.  FUN POLICE are alive and well at the CRTC (our regulatory body).

Thank you for your comments.  Do you watch this show as well.  We are almost binge watching in case we lose it.  Currently on Season 2 around episode 10 I think.  The set is so richly decorated and fashion is stunning.

Now that is really awesome, Susan!  Yours looks just like it!  The fading of a vector sounds like a real headache…any thing with a vector sounds like a headache…but I don’t think I could have even thought of it, much less considered how it would be done.  I can’t wait for the class on Sunday!  Maybe we’ll learn when to convert to a path, and when to convert to a raster.  LOL!

I am looking forward to the class.  Thank you for your comments.  I think I had to turn it into a raster to use the eraser tool on it.  But, yeah, Vectors make my head spin.  We will take the workshop and tame them demon vectors. It is dizzying trying to remember when to convert to this or that.  I hear the words from Carole but it isnt sinking in.  I think we need to do it and struggle through the blocks that arise to actually "understand" it.  My vectors were in making shapes and sticking them together.  After the fact, since I used "spades" in the cards, it would have been cool to use spades (outline) where the little circles are.

Hey, while I wasn't looking you added a photo! Nice to "see" you Susan.

hahahaha.  this is actually from 2018, in the hospital when my niece who just had a baby (c-section no less) had to get up out of bed to take a picture of me and Baby Luke.  Worst. Aunt. Ever.  I look the same, still crazy hair that needs cutting badly, but much more gray at temples.  Ann has hinted I should add one for some time, so I'm seeing how long it takes for her to notice.  I will try and get a new picture sometime soon.

Thank you.  I tried doing them outside too, but seems like my creativity stops at the studio door. ?

I tried several textures and overlays but it just didn't work. So, typical of me, I just gave up!

Nothing wrong with that, if it's not working, move on and find something that does work.  It's not giving up, you solved the problem of those textures and overlays not working, so you in fact learned something from trying it.  I know it feels like giving up, but think of it as learning what isnt working often moves you back to what IS working.  Dont we learn more from what goes wrong than what goes right.  I do know all too well this part of learning is the unfun part of it

  12. I am watching this Australian Mystery series on utube and there was a scene with a cool design in the building (picture below).  I wanted to try and receate the graphic version.  I cant wait till we do the Vector workshop.  I used vectors to create it and did some problem solving along the way.  I'm happy with what I did this time.  I didnt quite get the proportions right.  When I know better I'll do better.  I was playing with what to do with the background when I tried the gradient called "Underworld"  so my theme was gambling in the underworld (too much watching the TV show Supernatural). I used the eraser tool to fade out the bottom as if it was descending to the underworld.   It was the first time using the Custom Playing Card script from Carole.  I LOVE IT.  I learned to click "cancel" when choosing a photo and "cancel" again to continue the script and ended up with the layers of, white background and card number/suit.  I put the same gradient on the card, lightened, and put my photo's on.  I can see a lot of ways to use this script. My original layout was quite dark (my monitor is very light so it's hard to know what it looks like) so I lightened it up for the forum/gallery.  My photo's of a recent studio shoot, fun with expiring dandelions.  Font is Vanilla Right.

I was surprised to learn I won the Phrase Strips script! I had to play with it which took a bit of time as I made the adjustments to the script itself (as per instructions included) and needed some help from Carole. My deadlines for two projects are now behind me (other stuff) and I can get back to PSP time.

I like the "idea" of this layout, but I'm not entirely pleased with the harsh white background. I had to leave it like that b/c I'm not much good at extracting an image and getting a transparent background (the sketch of Mrs. Roosevelt). If I changed or softened the background, then the borders of the sketch were too visible. It's a skill I have to acquire....

Otherwise, I'm happy with the phrase strips and how to use them. Thanks Carole!

    Phrase Strips project May.jpg

I love this and I quite like the white background. It's a high key layout.  I also like the use of the three strips creating triangle which are very dynamic in the composition/design world.  You could try a texture but it might not look so good with the sketch graphic. I think it would detract from the cleaness and mimimalist style.

Finally got to T in the Alphabet Challenge of 2022.  Has been interesting.  Could probably do a couple of double pages for each of the M is for Memphis and T is for Tennessee.

    T is for Tennessee-2_600.jpg

Looks like Happy Birthday to Tennessee is in order.  Look at how many double letters in a row is in this State.  Now that's something to celebrate!  I like the information you give in your layouts.

Thanks, Susan. In the very early days of computers (back in the 1980's), I knew a lot about them. Now I'm at a complete loss. Please thank your husband for me. I'll keep this in mind for my next one.

I too am at a loss if  technology stuff goes wrong.  Just like if the lights dont work.  My electrical expertise amounts to flipping the odd breaker switch when I use the microwave and the kettle at the same time.  Technology is great when it works, when it doesnt, I'm reduced to cave-woman mentality.

Aw, Susan, I hardly know what to say, but thank you!

I just downloaded your kit from Digital scrapbook and everything unzipped and opened fine.  There was no preview showing(on my computer) in the blog section at Digital Scrapbook (pixel scrapper), but the link for the preview works.  What an accomplishment to be published like that.  Give yourself a pat on the back.

I personally don't care about the library itself since I can always download the filters I actually need instead of having 14K.

As for the versions, a few years ago, I managed to get a great offer once, for a lifetime upgrade. I don't know how often they offer that so if that is something that might interest you, keep an eye on their specials. They don't always advertise them. Right now, it is $232 (at 40% off), which is less than 2 years of upgrade at regular price for the pro version. I think they do have better deals at times.

thank you.  I think I'll pass on the deal.  I got an email for $159 for the lifetime upgrade too and I'd love to jump on it, but it's $159 USD which would have been okay in CAD but a little too much for me.  I dont use it enough and would be better to put the money toward my Campus membership next year.

Is there an advantage to having multiple drives as opposed to one huge one?

I think it would be very expensive to have one huge drive.  There is more risk of losing your data if it's on the same drive as your boot drive.  If it wasnt an SSD it would also be slower.  I currently have similar to carole 500 SSD for programs only, 1 TB for Data and a 2TB for data.  I have over 20 yrs of digital photos and already thinking I need another drive.  I dont really know much about this stuff. The information in the first sentences is from my husband.  I'm the one who doesnt know how stuff works, but I can work it.  Kind of like electricity and plumbing and my car...I dont need to know how they work to be able to work them.  I really should know more about how the computer works though.

And if they don't exist yet, we can invent something new! At least, digitally, we can do anything! And who knows if the tape companies might copy us!?

...and we could all become gazillionairs and alway have the latest greatest versions of PSP, Filter Forge and all the rest and best of all be lifetime members of the Scrapbook Campus!  lets get on it.

Speaking of FF, I was reading people having problems downloading the version 12 with the library and back up thing.  I want to take advantage of the offer. Since it expires on my birthday, it must be a sign, right?  Just wonder if anyone has it and was there any problems getting it all to work?

Now I see what Sue was talking about when I said I had tape with texts on it.  My goof.  I went up and got the tuts on how to do tapes (all different kinds but none with writing on them)!  But, I'm still not going to change my layout as I like it as it is.

Washi tape can have words on it.  ....and kitties, I have ones with kitties.  I dont think we need  any other kinds than that.?
