Oh sorry, I meant my adoptive mom couldnt have kids and so my parents adopted four of us in different years. My (adoptive) mom had a blockage of a sort and was unable to conceive. I am the youngest, the next sibling is 2 yrs older, one at 7 yrs older and one at 9 yrs older. Yes, we all feel like we won the parent jackpot. I was only a couple days old when I was adopted as was other siblings too. I have never had any issues over being adopted. The question I get most is have I ever tried to find my birth parents. I havent, it has never interested me. I've told people they are welcome to look for me, but I dont seem to have an interest. it doesnt bother me that I was adopted or given up (however you like to put it). If I did chose to know anything it would be why the birth mother gave me up. and that is only a mild (very mild) curiosity not a burning need to know. On a side note if I use the word "mom or dad" I mean my adoptive parents as I have never thought of them any other way except "mom" and "dad". the adopted part is just a detail that isnt that important to me.

I dont remember a time where I didnt know. From my perspective I've always known and it's never bothered me. Only one person in grade 5 told me my mother took "the easy way out" by not having natural children. At the time I didnt know she was unable to have children. Otherwise, some people find it fascinating. To me, it's just the way it's always been. There are 4 siblings in my family, all adopted. My oldest brother and sister are actual brother and sister but 2 yrs apart (yes, there's a little story there). In Saskatchewan (Canadian Province)my parents got a file of the whole story of their background and why they were put up for adoption. My other brother and I (we are the two youngest, me the youngest of all, were born in British Columbia) and that province did not allow any details about our birth parents so my parents destroyed the the other siblings file. However, we all have known the story most of our lives . They felt it was fair to us two younger ones. I wish they had kept it. I dont have any issues of not knowing where I came from because my parents (that raised me) are my parents and that was good enough for me. All of us were adopted as very new babies. I have friends that do research into their acestors and find some shocking information from time to time. At least it doesnt reflect on who you are today at this moment. We get to decide that for ourselves...well, mostly we do, or maybe we dont and that could explain some things, hmmmm, something to add to the long list of things to think about.

I love that quote and have never heard it in it's entirety. How impressive your family lineage is. I am adopted so I have no known lineage other than my birth mother was french (French Canadian I believe). I'm ashamed to say I failed french in school. the worst marks I've ever received.

Why didnt your drive through the corner of Wyoming, through Montana, into Canada, through Calgary (ugh, shutter at the thought of the traffic there....maybe skirt around Calgary) and up to Edmonton...on the upper North west side you'll find St. Albert. I'll wait for you, good excuse not to go to work when it dinner time for normal folks, with normal jobs. Why do I have to be abnormal? Love the page and find your journalling interesting to read.

We watch a lot on the u-tube through our TV but in Canada the internet costs are expensive, more than 3/4 of my $200 month bill. The TV is the cheapest part, so we have it for a few of the shows we watch. Too watch any Canadian TV on the PC means you have to already have an account with one of the TV service provides and therefore paying a lot more. We do get unlimited streaming so that's why U'tube. And I get to watch Carole on u'tube when I'm warming up for my workouts since it's on the TV.

You've given me some good ones to look for. I have been told Shetland is good. And I have watched Nova too. They have good stuff. I do have Nature TV and have exhausted most of the shows there. I love nature stuff. I watched David Attenborough on Netflix, so awesome he is. I dont have Netflix anymore. the cost of cable and streaming services are getting too high, so we will exhaust one streaming service then move on to another while the other ones get more shows. It sounds like I watch a lot of TV. I actually dont, between hubby and my schedule it can take 4-5 just to watch a movie. If I watch stuff it's often sometime of tutorial. In the Campus, photography ones for the RAW program I'm learning, general photo videos on certain techniques (eg. light painting, lighting in studio, general photography etc). Watching a TV show or movie is a nice way to unwind, even if it's just for 20 minutes at a time. BTW...LOVE Agatha Christie shows/movies.

Thanks for the info, it's a channel I can get...if I pay extra for it. It's going to have to go on the wish list as I'm already paying way too much for my cable and barely watch anything on it. I will check our other streaming services though, I'd like to check out those shows you mentioned.

We like those too. When we can find them on u-tube in Canada. British shows have more "real" type people cast in rolls and make it more believeable. Also, we've watched a ton of Korean series (subtitled as i love the actual voices) on Netflix when we had it.

We watch Star Trek: Strange New Worlds too. We watched Anson Mount (Captain Pike) in Hell on Wheels as well, he's very gritty looking in that one. The first couple seasons of ANW were awesome. I got tired of the announcers and just wished they'd show the compeitors compete. I'm not big on people's backstories either, unless it's about their training only. The more I find out about Athletes/movies stars private lives the more I dont like them. We just got paramount for a bit and have seen some really good series. And there is only a few on regular cable we watch. One is Highway Thru Hell, a show about heavy wreckers (tow trucks) that is filmed in locations very close to the several cities we lived in in the Fraser Valley and Interior of British Columbia.
