  1. Quite a funky idea Susan and I like the way the font changes to suit the china design
  2. I am sure I have been like that in the past but with this project I had two aims so one prompted the other: regular weekly exercise (training for that sponsored walk) and the photography project. So now, I mustn't give up on the exercise (might sign up for another walk) and need to fulfil the creative project.
  3. I hadn't thought of a double page but that would be easier to fit the 12 photos in to see the detail of the changes that the seasons bring about. I'll add that idea to my cogitating. Thank you Carole.
  4. I have not followed what's going on for a few weeks so a bit late into the challenge, sorry but it is the perfect subject for a personal project I started last year that I have not finished the final layout for. I dutifully walked to the same oak tree on the outskirts of our village, once a month for all of 2023, getting the exercise and always having in my mind the creative challenge of how to present the collection of photos at the end. So my project is not quite p52 but very similar. I am still cogitating how to display all twelve of the photos into one photo montage and have made a layout to start with. The scripts that some of you are using on your designs are giving me ideas but here is where I am at so far...
  5. Thank you Corrie. Your card is so elegant.
  6. No pictures of Santa but just wanted to thank you Carole for your Christmas Countdown and I am still laughing at the actors doing the twelve days of Christmas. Brilliant.
  7. I think I took the photo in Devon and retouched him a bit so yes, English. Very traditional on British Christmas cards but I was told (and hope the superstition is not believed anymore) that you shouldn't give a card to an older person as it signifies someone departing. I prefer to think 'when robins appear, loved ones are near' so you can take it either way, on earth or in heaven. Thank you Susan for your kind words re my photo book of my mother in law on the other forum.
  8. And a happy Christmas to you all and looking forward to the new year. Thank you Carole and to all the inspirational work and comments. Here's one of my photos slightly festively adorned with freebies. Happy new year.
  9. A lovely present Carole and I like the consistency in the style of the photos. I have made a photobook as a present this Christmas for my husband and his brothers of memories of their late mother. We have so many photos of her so it is nice to have one record of the best of them. The skills I have been learning at the Campus, for which I am grateful, have been put into practice. I just hope the photobook doesn't upset them at Christmas time.
  10. Reading the blog 'how to create a festive snowglobe' gave me the idea for a birthday card (could double up as Christmas card) for a friend of mine who likes gonks. I made the gonk pictured by needlefelting, photographed him, cut him out with Smart Selection brush and the edit mode, adjusted his colour a bit and used him as the element for the snowglobe. A suggestion at the end of the instructions was to darken the edges. I used the Lighten and Darken tool but couldn't think how else to do that.
  11. Your suggestions are so inspiring. I tried out the transparent frames and added a bit of colour too on one of my Turkish photos. I used the selection tool method.
  12. Must give this technique a try. The technical explanations are very useful, particularly yours Sue on Adjustment Layers. The effect enhances the images really well. Thank you Mary.
  13. You've all been so busy this November. Loved what you've been doing. I have made a greetings card or two and then looked at the Campus blog subject on 'Dual Effects on a photo'. I think I can have fun with that and, although a little bit late for Halloween, created this Dual Effects cat image. In Palettes I used Instant Effects 'Gemstone' for the jaggedy image and for the cat's eyes adjusted the main photo using the vibrancy scale, painting out the eyes on the Mask.
  14. Help. There's a lion in my cabin.
  15. Having a go today after the 'Just Out of It' webinar. I too use mainly my own photos so my images have turned out quite bizarre.
  16. I thought of you and your Divas when I vent to an exhibition in London recently called Divas. It's at the V&A museum. Wonderful costumes from actresses to musicians and a few male Divas too (Elton John, Freddie Mercury),
  17. Beautiful. Hope your design can be used for some of the remembrance activities on Armistice day.
  18. Yes, Happy November, weathers permitting! UK due for a winter storm soon so battening down the hatches! I have just read the Campus newsletter 31 October and was interested in the Colour Replacer article so had a quick go with a photo that I took on holiday that originally I had intended to make into a silhouette. I turned the colour photo into black and white in Effects/ Photo Effects and then applied the Colour Replacer using the dropper tool to source the colours I wanted to change. Just a bit of fun but it opens up more creative possibilities.
  19. After the Q&A session last night I tried to find ParticleShop but via 'Effects', I still couldn't find it. With PSP, however, Painter was included so I opened Painter 7 and found the Speckle brushes and so so much more. Don't know why I hadn't looked at it before. Maybe thinking too much to learn. I Speckled away and think there must be so much we can do with it. Thank you for mentioning ParticleShop in the Q&A.
  20. Entry to party (a dozen eggs) along with my bottle of Sauvignon Blanc:-
  21. Well I was a little late for the party (as having Sunday lunch at the time) so didn't have anywhere to upload my images for it. I had kept a look out for the start but I think the zone time differences put pay to me seeing the invite. I also do not have a web camera on my PC. Never mind, it is a great achievement Carol to have taught yourself, set up businesses and taught all of us, especially in the friendly manner that you do. In this day and age it is a pleasant approach. My greetings card to you is based on a card I made for your 60th which I have adapted. The other image is the one for the party.
  22. As a Diamond member at the time I used LABS13 Stencils to create a star that I replicated to make a cake band for a new year family party.
  23. And a creative Masterclass that I very much enjoyed was the Beautiful Mess Masterclass so we could turn our own images into creative effects.
  24. The very first exercise for me was back in March 2020 which was the sandwich full of gherkins.
  25. Another image from the Masks workshop.
