If you ever want to see my nephews work, it's at etsy called: Nonnas Woodshop. Or or look for Dan Ewart on Instagram and see him rolling out pasta dough (he was a chef at a high end restaurant in Vancouver, BC).
Susan, I checked both... Outstanding work!

Day 4
Font: Nelson (Creative Fabrica - Laura Worthington)
Paper: Riley B Graphics (Creative Fabrica)
The word "Echo" is the shadow only (of something once that was and now isn't) and I used it in the literary sense from a google search below. I shadowed the frame but not sure I like it or not.
What does echo symbolize in literature?
In literature and art, an echo can symbolize memory, the past, or the idea of something being repeated or reflected back. In many cultures, the echo has been used as a symbol of communication, reflection, and the interconnectedness of different elements.Feb 26, 2021
Susan, love the layouts and photos. 🙂

It's been a while since I had time to create a new one. (They've been repeating themes from 2017 so I've been repeating my layouts with a few adjustments.) The background paper is a chevron from PS/DS by Sheila Reid to which I added a Gaussian blur. I used the Andrea Bilarosa font I got in a free font bundle from CF and the flourish is from my collection of scrapbooking "stuff." 🙂 As you probably already guessed, the illustration is by Hayden Williams. The best part, and the reason I wanted to share this, is Cassel's gimp trims picture tube. I used one to frame the illustration and the layout.
Michele, I have always admired your choice of illustrations; this layout is lovely.
Gimmp Trims 1 - Gimp Trim 2 Picture Tubes really adds a touch of elegance to the page.

Day 3
After the snow photos of day 1 and 2 I used 2 photos of the same Hortensia that was in my day 1, but here in full bloom. I used the extra template for this one and colored the leaves with the technique of the lesson. The papers are my one creation and I had them in my stash. The flower elements are by cpjess-old fashioned summer. The button is one I use often and recolor as needed. The butterfly I forgot where I have that one from. I have accumulated a whole bunch of butterflies. Last the front is Bastro.
Beautiful layout, Corrie... Love everything about it!... The top paper is so cute; is this the Linoleum Technique? ... I didn't resist and downloaded the font from Dafont. 🙃

More gnomes for me from CF! The snowflakes are a picture tube from Corel which I colored using the change to target brush. The font is Merry Sugar Snow and I used a combination of an outer bevel and Gaussian blur to make it look like it's sunken into the snow, too. (I know Blue Winter is supposed to represent sadness, but I decided to go another way.) I just realized I forgot to add "Fabulous Divas" somewhere in the pic. That's what happens when you run out of time; I really need to start these earlier. 🤪
Michele, this is sooo cute!
I agree with Susan; I don't relate blue to sadness in winter...This gnome is having lots of fun making angels in the snow. 🙂
Let's say the 'Fabulous Divas' were on a well-deserved winter break. 😄

December and January (so far) have been nothing but dreary, dismal, and dull here in SW Ontario (Canada). Days in a row of grey wet weather. I am feeling no inspiration or creativity. Everything (except the green grass) is brown and grey. So the layout is a reflection of that gloominess. Nothing special; picture from the Boston Globe with a frame.
Dog walking has been a challenge, and the wet paw prints are a continuous job to clean up.
Julie, the weather might not be the best, but the layout is beautiful.

Here is a layout I started in 2021 for the Color Challenge, and although I posted back then as finished, I left it in the unfinished folder for later tweaks.
The color that was supposed to be part of the layout was already in the photos, so I changed the background paper to a solid gray color and added an overlay.
I started with Lynn Grieveson's (The Lilypad) Template - #lgrieveson_messy_captured_4.
I created the Wordart for the first version, and for this reviewed version, I added some elements following Carole's tutorials:
Post-It Note, Straight Pin, Pinned Paper
The lifted photo effect was created using cass-LiftedPhoto Script.
Only today, after seeing the layout here again, did I notice something that probably had Carole cringe: The shadows I added to the Post-It note, etc. 😬
The shadows that came with the template are opposite the usual left side. I’ll correct it. 😄

Ann, Bonnie, Michele, and Corrie, those are beautiful layouts. I love everything about them.
Donna, those mask shapes are very creative... they'll look interesting and unique in a layout.
I downloaded the 2023 Year in Review after seeing it here! I am so behind that I have only recently continued working on my 2021 Year in Review!

Cristina, I thought of this topic too but couldn't decide on which size to use. So, I use different sizes depending on the use I want. If it is only for here in the Campus then it doesn't matter. On the other hand if I want to print at home, mostly for cards, I use a size that my printer can handle. When I want it printed at a printing service I use the sizes they prefer.
I guess I will start with 8x10, following her tips on how to do it, sometimes adapting a template, and see how I feel about it.
But not anytime soon. 🙂 First, I have lots of unfinished layouts from workshops, etc.

This is a special gift to your son-in-law, and it will be something Xavier will love to see when he gets older to understand more. Beautiful work! The photos are great with the techniques you used, but for me, the journaling is what stands out... So, so creative!
I like the size you used (8x8), and I have been thinking of starting to scrap in a different size than 12x12 so it will be easier to have it printed.
In one newsletter, Lynn Grieveson, a designer from The Lilypad, mentioned she used to print 10x10 at Persnickety and then at Shutterfly, but the former discontinued the size, and the latter had to start charging too much for international deliveries... She lives in New Zealand.
Now, she prints 8x10 (i.e., portrait orientation), which is close to letter size A4, but she still sells her designs in 12x12 format.
Since then, I have been thinking of changing it, too; I haven't yet decided which size.

@Susan Ewart and @Christina I had to skip the travel and the scripting. I could count on my fingers that it was to much for me. But it seems to me not to bad with a calendar. If you want to print on a home printer you can do it some later in the year. good luck with it. 🤗
Thank you, Janette. 🙂 I am hopeful I'll finish it this year 🤞... It takes more time to find the right photo than creating the page.
I'll have it printed in a print shop, as always, and it will look like the photo below so my mother-in-law can hang it on the wall as she prefers.

Believe it or not, I'm still working on my calendar. I really should have planned better. I'm also being inspired by others.
Me neither... I finished the month of May... Still, a lot to do.

The journaling is so creative! I love it.

Beautiful layout, Corrie!
We also had the same weather: icy roads and streets... Schools were closed, and people were advised on the radio to stay home. We follow the advice. 🙂
