I'm up to date with  my cards, also some of my Xmas cards for 2024.   I'm back on the Xmas cards and  general festive  creations which I can add to cards.   Here is a Xmas wordart candle, I started last night.  The flame is from CF,  a selection of  fonts and a base I made using a vector shape, and the pen tool.  It will easy enough to change colours to adapt to  any card.

Wow, Sue! This is so creative! It will definitely go to the "Sue's layouts" section. 🙂

Here's Day 7...Finally! I didn't do the envelope because I don't print my cards. That beautiful baby is from Unsplash, a great source for free pics. The lace and flower are both from DS/PS and the font is StylePro (Sorry, but I don't know where I got it).

Congrats on crossing the finish line, Michele!   It's great to see you are participating more in the workshops; you probably have more time now. 🙂

    I love the card!

This happens to me, too. My theory is that if I try to make a new post soon after submitting another one, that's when it happens. Most of the time it's when I haven't lost the original. LOL

Michele, I never paid attention to when it happened...   I think I had commented in other threads before.

@Cristina I followed Cassel's advice and went back to the page. As soon as I clicked to start a new entry, my old post popped up in its entirety! I was so glad! ☺️

Good to know, Ann!   I have to say that it only happens sporadically, but if it does, I'll try this.

Lab 12 Mod 6. Requirements: Mandala - back of the pictures; paint streaks 2 (Not happy with this) behind the gold butterfly; Gold Texture the frame on the background layer. I used Cass Circle Pictures for the pictures and then resized it for this layout (hid the original background layer).

    Lab 12 Mod 6_600.jpg

Mary, I find this layout very nice. The subtle background pattern, the Mandala, the gold butterfly, and even the paint streaks... I still have to try these techniques.

I also like to include all the techniques of a Lab lesson in a single layout, as sometimes it can be challenging. Participating in the Bingo Challenge is another way, and I find it's fun.

I have seen a few layouts with the cass-Circle photos script,... It has many possibilities.

Cristina, at about the same hour, I wrote a long story in the May 28 Newsletter Chitchat topic, and it also disappeared. 😞

Oh, Ann, this is even worse ... Lucky me, my comment was short this time, but it happened before to lose a long one... Now,  when I remember to do it,  I copy the text (CTR+C).

Well, I've been working on my wild cat calendar for June so I thought I'd show it off as it has been created in May. I'll post it full size on Facebook so it can be printed @ 8.5 x 11 inches. I used a cass template from last year's calendar workshop. Introducing the critically endangered beautiful little Andean Mountain Cat from South America. The fonts are Wakanda for the June title and Britannia Bold for the rest. I love his little white moustache!

Ann, you always showcase incredible animals in your Wild Cat Calendar.  Great work.

I will try again, as my first comment disappeared. 🙂

Bonnie, very nice layout...   I didn't know this beautiful Mountain Laurel flower...   I also like Lady22's templates and the masks she creates.

  9. Following Mary Solaas's steps, I  went back to the Labs tutorials.

If I had kept the sequence where I left off, I would have used Lab11-Module11, but to fit my needs, I followed the techniques from Lab13-Module 2 (Corner Cut Shape & Double Arrow pattern).

This is the first layout I created with an 8.5x11 size or, in this case, 11x8.5.  I am still not sure which direction I'll take...   I mentioned before that Lyn Grieveson, a designer from The Lilypad, started using 8x10 size (portrait orientation)...   Carole has a post with good information about Different Sizes for Scrapbook Projects

Anyway, here is my layout and credits:

    • Background paper - KAagard_Great Outdoors Pattern2 from the "Great Outdoors" kit by KAagard.
    • Mask -  Palvinka_HelloSpring_photomasks_2  from the "Hello Spring" kit by Palvinka...   I like the Photomasks she designs...  I used a Mask on top of the photo, which lowered the opacity a lot.
    • Elements from the "Nature Walk" kit by DiHiller.
    • CaroleStraight Pin & Pinned Paper techniques  ///   Datestamp#8 Script  /// Decorative Stitches  (cass-stitch-turkey)
    • Font: High Notes

My number 5. I used a line art image from CF and coloured it in. I used some ribbon elements I have made some other time and recoloured to fit. I used some dotty texture at different sizes. The font from CF is called Christmas Love. TFL.

I love everything about this layout, Sheila! The colors, the texture, the font... Great work!

Loving everything, especially from our "newbies." I'm very impressed.

I was so looking forward to this workshop, but I don't know if I'll be able to participate due to an injury. Since there is no time limit for the workshops, I hope to be able to start soon and catch up. 🤞

Michele, sending my best wishes and hope you'll be fit soon to participate in this workshop.   I always love your work!

Incredible work from everyone.  It's really inspiring.  Looks like I might not be able to join as this week is going to be an exhausting one!  But I will look forward to seeing your beautiful creations.

I agree with you, Susan, and congrats to Everyone!

The cards posted are amazing and inspiring.  I am sure the recipients will be more than happy when they get them.

Like you, I'm afraid I won't have the time to post anything, but I'm glad I have the templates.

Back to the Labs for me. This is Lab 12 Mod 4. Requirements: ledger paper 2 (my background - I made several different colors and kept the pattern); rolled tape (not my favorite) and I tried folding it - without the tutorial but had followed several tutorials that folded ribbons etc; added sparkled butterflies (using Cass sparkle script). I use the pictures I took in the Botanic Gardens in 2022 a lot!. The blue patterned paper: I used the bird pattern (on the tape) and kaleidescoped and patterned it several times and liked this version the best. The other requirement was to make a folded paper streamer/banner.  I chose to use butterflies and not the boy and girl.  It was really interesting making the shadow on the fold/crease in the center of each butterfly. The mask I used was given to us in the Mask Workshop.

It's good to see you have your mojo back, Mary. 🙂    I like the blue-patterned paper with the kaleidoscope effect very much.

I was struggling to make an intropage for the photos I took from the daily life and things I did at home. After some thought I concluded that there was one item that covers it all: the place where they live! So I used the cass-photocircle template script again, this time with hearts and photos I took in Los Altos plus the seal of the city (thanks to google). The family photos will come on the next photo pages in the album. I wrote a short story about the place, of course in Dutch, but roughly translated it says: "Los Altos is a nice city in Santa Clara County in Silicon Valley and ca 40 mile from San Francisco. Downtown, the compact older part of the city has a lot of nice shops and restaurants to eat outside. Many of the streets have big trees that provide shadow". The background is a photo with reduced opacity of the frontyard of their house.

    Los Altos=2-600.jpg

Beautiful layout, Corrie,  and cass-photo circle script with heart-shaped was a great choice.

Thank you Cristina and I'm glad you have the same feeling as well. I am going to use the same printservice I always use and I measured another of my albums. It is 29 x 21 cm (landscape format) and I had to calculate how much that would be for a scrap layout to fill a whole page of the album. I figured it will be 5140 x 3720 pix/inch and that let me use all of my supplies, but this is only for the 4 intropages. For the rest of the album I use and adapt the printservice's templates so I have at least an idea how to fill my album with my photos and text.

Thank you for your answer, Corrie🙂

I don't print photo albums, just the loose pages, and this is exactly the size of the new layout I've started, which corresponds roughly to the A4 size (21x29,7 cm) or 8.5 x 11 in.

I am still not sure which size to choose: 8x8 OR  8.5x11 (11x8.5), but I will not use 12x12 anymore... I will finish the 12x12 layouts (MANY) I've started, but I will try 11x8.5 for the next new pages.

I'm happy to get slowly back into scrapping!

I have the same feeling as I have created just a few layouts over the last few years.    I don't know how long it will last, but I'm on a roll, as Sue said. 😄

What a great start, Corrie!   Which size are you using? I am still thinking of changing the size of my layouts to make it easier to get it printed.

You are certainly on a roll, I hope you  can keep it up.  Lots to look at, without  being distracted  from the photos. Lots of well executed details.  Did you create the arrow paper, using the arrow tutorial in lab 13-11?

Thanks a lot, Sue. 🙂    No, I didn't. All the papers I used are from the Great Outdoor Kit by KAagard

This is one of the first kits I purchased when I started to learn about scrapbooking from Carole. Since then, I have used it quite a few times.

Another one using the cass-Multi-Frame Collage sample this time featuring my youngest great-grand, Raja, from California. I used the letter board from cass-Letterpress Alpha and the cass-Rusted Alpha, with added screw-head brads. The font is Impact with the copper gradient. We kid about Raja meaning king, so I added a crown, top right. Raja will turn one on Aug 31.

I like this template very much, and I saw great examples of how to use it here.
