  1. You may not recognize it, but this is my take on the card as an extra for Day 5.  I changed the color (obvious) with Hue/Saturation/Lightness.  pulled the heart from one of my valentine cards and deepened its color and placed it in the center circle (which I had filled with a light pink).

  2. And now for that green extra on day 4. I changed the color of the original elements with Hue Saturation Lightness with the Colorize option.  That was fun.

These are pictures I took one day when my daughter and I visited our favorite park. The geese and the ducks are with us always, but occasionally we find one of the heron family there. This day we were lucky and saw a green heron (yes, I know he doesn't look green, but we looked him up when we got home.)

  3. This is the extra - I changed what I had done first (showcasing one of my grandchilren's family) and opted instead to do one for valentine's day.  The cards are scans of my cards and the focus picture is from Jill Wellington from FreeRange Stock

The photo is of my husband, but we both went up the arch. It was so exciting! You don't have to walk; they have little cars that take you to the top.

Love it.  I was there in St. Louis when they began the arch and the surrounding park.

  5. Bonnie - love your ice cream pics and layouts!  Makes me drool for ICE CREAM!

I decided to go with V is for Valentine's Day.  (There are too many places I like to go to for vacation - mountains, sometimes the beach, family members in the north, the south, the east, the west; route 66, route I-90 (from the east coast to the west coast) - would take a whole album to do those vacations!  So here we are with Valentine's Day.  Cassel's heart punches on the corners of the title paper; I made the cookies and bought Cassel's script for tube icing since I wanted icing that was not just flat - used the sprinkles I made in one of the labs for the word Love on the cookies; used the picture tube for the heart candies; used the plate in the basic course, made the doily in one of the labs; made the papers; Cass-zig zag ribbon in white which I (of course) colorized; the valentines: the old victorian one was from PS - Janet Kemp; the others are scanned  images of cards I have received; made the tag in one of the labs, as is the string attached to the tag.  And of course, Valentine's Day is celebrated with cards, candies, cookies, cake and whatever sweet you can give your "sweet".

This time I did all 3 layouts for QP-1. First is a new bird at my feeder, well, actually, a regular but in a new color morph. Never saw an orange-headed house finch before but Merlin confirmed my sighting. This is the Merlin photo. The alpha is Fiesta from Annie Tobin-R.I.P. The text font is Ink Free. Second is the flip flop banner, featuring my daughter's flip flop birthday cake from last September when she turned 60. I used a gimp picture tube for the top border. Last is my granddaughter-in-law, Lucy, mother of Magic. I thought the black and white photo went well in the busy layout. I enlarged the photo area with my eraser tool.

Ann - I recognize that font -  Annie Tobin's - she was so special.

I have replaced the zip file with the correct one. I guess you can still use that for a collage! ?

Carole, the only thing able to download on the original paper is the collage.  Can you send us to FB header as a separate post or email?

  8. Day 2.  Yes, I always like to change colors.  The non-scrap is a picture that I love - old (for David is a big 14 now) but still good - David and his grandpa fishing together (David is my great grandson and the grandpa is my son).

  9. And these are my day 1.  The turtles sunning themselves is a pic taken by my son, Chris, when he and his family visited the park in New Orleans.  The peony in the extra is from a trip with my eldest son and his wife when we went rv-ing in 2021 in the northwest - this pic was taken at an rv park in Nebraska.  The rolling waves on the beach in the FB header is a pic my son, Chris, took when he and his family visited the Gulf.

The crochet doilies immediately reminded me of having tea. The photo is of my husband when we were having tea at Miss Molly's Tea House. Since the photo was too narrow, I added a background paper from Digital Scrapbook. The letters are from my kit with the outline and the fill changed.

How neat - filling out the space when you have a vertical picture instead of a horizontal one!

I have considered doing a class on making fonts, but it would involve a paid program so I am not sure how well-received that would be (I got some complaints when I did classes on Filter Forge). On the other hand, making an alpha is so much simpler and very accessible to all. Maybe that can be another class!?

Fonts are available, but making special alphas is great.

  12. So, I made a layout using one of the fractal triangle papers, and the Koch Star mask.  The picture was taken by my daughter-in-law Pam Solaas - she works in this show every year and took me to it too this year.  Love it.  It is known nationally and has been held for over 70 years in Germantown, TN (just outside Memphis, TN).  The horseshoe I got from Creative Fabrica and made it into a paint brush and a picture tube.  Also created the wood-burned element from the tutorial by Carole.  The font for the title is Ballpark from Creative Fabrica some time ago.

Unlike Michele, this took me two whole days! Deb sent this photo of Magic and her friend having a tea party and I couldn't resist using Janet Kemp's Garden/Tea Party Kit. Even the title is  word art from that kit. I spent too much time changing the background on the photo. (Learning as I go here, this subject proved to be too detailed for an easy background change. I used part of a photo from my previous home that had a big lawn for the background.) This is probably more "scrapbooky" than my usual layouts but it seemed to call for flourishes! ?

Love what you do, Ann.  Seems like I'm going to have to play with that background replacement tool - My next OCD venture???
