  1. Pages 13 and 14.  We have arrived in Belle Fourche, SD and visited Aunt Mary Lou.  It is Friday.  Tomorrow we will go to the Badlands.  Sunday is the picnic in the city park with as many of the extended Solaas family who can come.  Made 2 flare buttons for this layout.  Also, did a postcard and stamp as that is part of the workshop.  Always fun to do.

  2. Yes, thanks for mentioning Particle Shop.  I, too, began playing with it.  Choose the color blue, and used one of the brushes and this page is what I came up with.  The second one is the same page but smudged, blurred, etc.

  3. Guess I'll be posting my Travel Challenge balance of pages in the "What are you working on..." forums, cause it's going to take me into October (maybe even November) to finish.  Then, there is that Alphabet Challenge from 2022 that I still have 3 more to do - X, Y, Z.

Here is page 10 and 11.  All my own papers and elements.  Having fun with the leather tag making and decided to do some flare buttons too.

Curious to know what types of "corn" related food they have in the restaurant. It looks like it's a bit cold there.

Didn't get any "corn" in the restaurant next door, but it was great.  It was COLD that day.  We started our trip the end of May and continued through the middle of June.  That is really not the best time of year to go north, but as you know, things warm up and are great in June generally for travel up north.  We had better weather about 2 days later when we were in Belle Fourche, SD and enjoyed our picnic with a large group of Solaas relatives and were not wearing winter gear!  You'll see that in the upcoming pages.  Next in our travels, after Mitchell, SD and the Corn Palace, is the 1880 Village.  Great outdoor "museum" of buildings of an 1880 town in the Dakotas.  It was still cold and we were bundled up.  However, the day after we were in Belle Fourche and the weather was warming up.

  6. I can't keep up with all of you.  WOW!  All you have posted is marvelous.  I will attempt at least a start since we can post stuff we did before.  This one is the leather tag which we learned about in the Travel Challenge.

  7. Still in Travel Challenge 2023 - because of the length of the trip, I will be working on it well into October.  As usual, all papers and elements are mine - except the 2 RV's on the road - they are from PS Marissa Lerrin;   The title font is Britannic Bold; the font on the journal strips are Black Horse (pretty sure it is from Creative Fabrica).

  8. I'm really busy this past week getting my "stuff" and "place" ready for a trip my daughter and I will be taking next week.  But I check in and this forum has been great showing us the amazing techniques Carole has given us in her tutorials, Labs, Master Classes.  AND - she is such a great teacher - if you don't know how to boil water, she will show you.  THANK YOU, CAROLE, FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR US - THE FRIENDSHIP IN THIS MARVELOUS SITE, THE TEACHING YOU HAVE GIVEN US.

Love you all and thank you for showing us your takes on what Carole has been teaching us.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn? lol

That book is really great.  Written by one who did grow up in Brooklyn.  I spent my first 7 years in New Jersey (Just across the river from New York City) and remember going through the Holland Tunnel into New York City with my dad and mom.  I remember seeing the New York World's Fair (1939); I remember Chile's Restaurant (?); I remember looking up at the tall buildings; I remember; I remember coming into NYC around Christmas time and  the wonderful window and toy displays at that time (always love the toy trains); there were cobble streets when we saw the Macy's parade and my dad lifted me up on his shoulders from those cobble streets in order to see better.

Michele, you have put me on a memory lane visit .....
