  1. Is anybody doing the "make a free font of your very own" on Creative Fabrica? You do NOT have to be a member or have a subscription to do this. It is free until March 15 (Sometime in March). https://studio.creativefabrica.com/font-generator So far, they need some tweaking, and the button is there so if one letter is thinner than the rest, for example, you can "regenerate" just that one letter". Oddly, I had a need for a "Dr. Seuss" style font and got one about the 4th time I tried. (close to Dr Seuss, and by that I mean only slightly close, LOL!) You can fix, download or discard any font you generate. And as far as I can tell the "prompt" is worthless, as is the distinction between the types of fonts Decorative, Fancy and Display. Or maybe i just don't understand the subtle differences between them. Anyway I think a lot of you would enjoy it - and you'll get some fonts out of the deal too. One word of suggestion - take a screen shot of your font, and download the ttf file to a directory you made -- "Suzy CF AI Fonts" is my directory. My font is this: "Suzy Decor. Looks Seuss-ish" plus the screen shot.jpg so you have a record of what you've done. That .jpg will be your "receipt" that you made it yourself and it's your AI original. Create custom fonts effortlessly with the AI-powered Font Generator—the first of its kind! Skip the long font creation process and generate unique, high-quality fonts in just a few clicks. START FOR FREE Here’s why Font Generator is a game changer: ✅ Personalized & Exclusive: Generate one-of-a-kind fonts and modify every glyph to perfection. ✅ Fast & Effortless: No more time-consuming font creation—get instant results with AI! ✅ Yours to Keep: Download your fonts instantly in TTF format or use them in Studio—for any personal and commercial projects. ✅ Free to Use: Skip the expensive software and font licenses—this tool makes custom fonts accessible to all.
  2. Yes, that worked! And I also got my last used colors back, too! Thanks!
  3. Ahhh, I had to go back to old blog posts to get my bound scripts fixed up and my materials palette back to normal, but my plus sign isn't visible. Neither are my last used colors. all-in-all it doesn't feel right, so I did a comparison, see below. (I only like my certain colors, not every color in the rainbow, so that part is perfect) Also, I would like to take the trashcan and move it up with the lock and the link. Is this possible?
  4. I guess I'll have to dig in and get up those icons to run the scripts again. I feel as if I just did this with PSP2023!!! Now I have to redo or both 2022 and 2023. (I *did* save my desktop, but it didn't save precisely right. In fact, I don't see that it saved anything about my old workspace, now that I think about it. I already have to go back to the old materials palette, so I am really, really starting over,. Windows 11 is the culprit and poor PSP got caught in the cross fire.)
  5. When you paste into affinity it goes to the upper left corner, on the page edge. When you paste in PSP with Control + V or Control +C, my quickie left-handed shortcut keys, it pastes in the exact middle. I need that exact middle so many times, and although I'm using those guides more and more, I don't routinely use them as I open every image. (I can see why you might do that with a LO, but I am working with individual layered images.) I might have to start doing that drag & drop, though, because while I used to open with a right click in Windows Explorer, that right click now opens a dialogue box where I have to choose from all the programs that might possible open it including all three Affinities. Another example of Windows 11 making things harder and taking longer to do anything.
  6. What got me confused is that there is *no* repair for Paint Shop Pro or other programs. Affinity is the one program that at least has another choice, although it's not repair. So I thought, "Maybe she meant Windows, but that's not a program. Well, maybe it is in her country? But messing around with Windows sounds dodgy, so maybe I'd better to ask before messing with it."
  7. Sue Thomas, would that be uninstall-but-don’t -uninstall PSP? Surely not Windows Explorer? Ann, I went through all of view, I checked and unchecked everything, even “options” and “advanced”. Normally I have it on “view extra large thumbnails” because I can’t see as well as I used to, and I'm having trouble getting really good readers. (Eye glasses for reading). The cheap ones won’t do it for me any more. Rene, this is how it’s always been for me, too! They always showed up. One thing I did and I might have to undo it is I installed “sage” to see photoshop thumbnails. I might uninstall that to see if it brings back psp. But first I’ll wait to hear back from Sue and then try Carole’s link. The website looks a little dodgy, but it is CNET approved, so I’m going to try it. Janette, I’ll let you know. Thanks, everybody! I’m having way more issues on all things, BTW. Winzip takes two extra clicks to unzip. Print screen, I don’t even know what is up with that, just that it is twice as hard and four times longer than print screen, flip to PSP, control+V Voila! Just everything in my workflow has become more complex, and therefore takes more time. On that Affinity, I already didn’t like that it didn’t have some of my most favorite things from PSP - shortcut keys and other things, but the thing that sent me over the edge is when it pasted new layers in the corner! Once I saw it pasted in the corner, I decided it was not for me. I use the paste command as the absolute middle way too often. It’s how I make borders & frames. Circle rims, a bunch of stuff. Carole, what about some rudimentary things like changing color, size, and raster-to-vector in Corel Draw? I could use a class on the very basics! I (like probably most the people reading this) bought it at Hungry Bundle, so I own it, but it’s pretty hard for me to use. What if I wanted a vector with a stroke? Or a vector with colors to match my kit instead of black? Or a vector flower where the petals in front are a little lighter than colors in back? Or vector brushes that look a little wobbly instead of vector-perfect.? Will it accept/import/use Illustrator or procreate brushes? Well, that’s just today’s questions..I have a bunch more that could fill a class! . Like when I have some old Dover B&W images I want to fill with color, but they don’t quite close. Is there a thing that will “close path”? Plus they are in B&W so the color stuff doesn’t even show up on the menu! (I think).
  8. I upgraded my computer and it's been awful. I now have Windows 11, and everything takes an extra step. Print screen used to be click and then control V to paste in to PSP, now it's so much slower! and there is another click in there to crop the region you want or else you wait longer for the whole screen. But the thing I cannot live with are the thumbnails in Explorer (the old file manager) not showing up! Is there a workaround for this?
  9. Plus I couldn’t download PSP 2022, had to get the most recent version. 2023. I need to get these ads off!! There were instructions her, but I can’t remember if itks campus, Diamond or blog!!!
  10. Hi everybody! I bought the humble bundle when this thread was active, but I just am putting software on my new computer. does anybody understand these brush packs? they don’t look like the kinds of brushes we are used to. Plus there is an installer and after they're installed, it specifically says they're not available in Psp. (Meaning I have to import them, I assume?) Ok. So where did the installer put them? I hate my new computer so far. a big monitor means over exaggerated movements with your mouse. My shoulder hurts! Well a host of things I will have to get used to and passwords from my old computer to find. suzy

Oh, Daniel, I should clarify. I *didn't * get the 43" monitor, just saw it. Unless it curves around me, there would be blurry sections -- me, not the monitor -- because of my glasses. They make a curved one, too, I just didn't get it - it's only slightly curved. Rene, How are you doing? I thought you lived in some little town - how did you get fiber? I think you need to vote for whoever is in office and keep them there! I remember when the days when it was a week to get a new computer set up-- what I think could happen is it will still take weeks. You know, until all the stuff is the way I want it. I bought that Humble Bundle with the Corel Draw, so that goes on the new one. I want to get a new laser printer, large plat scanner and copy machine all in one. They don't make that combination. hahaha. Natch! I hope you are doing well and everything has cleared up and gone away....far away! Assuming I don't have VGA troubles, I should be good to go with the monitors.

    New PC

I have no idea what I got, but I suspect a gaming computer, too, oh it says right on there it is a gaming computer. Oh and the prices are on there, too, I didn’t notice, I thought those numbers were more specs I didn’t understand, LOL! I was working on testing a script….and I used the .jpg he sent for the paper. The monitor is 10” bigger than my current. Did you see the monitors that were 43”….they span a desk! I worry because I wear readers…they are fixed focal length, so everything needs to be more or less the exact same distance from your head (eyes). I need three monitors surrounding me like the people in a cyber security unit on TV 🙂 oddly, I’m not even excited about it. A lot of darn work. My current one will be 20 years old. I got a really good one then because I realized how much trouble a new computer can be and I hated the hassle getting a new one, even if it is twice as fast and can hold twice as much. Thanks for all the tips…I have to Google them all. And if you noticed the fancy paper in my post above, it’s a new script this week at Creation Cassel called QuickWave!

    New PC

Daniel, Please keep posting on this topic as you find glitches, anomalies, and easier-than-you-expected scenarios! I just bought a new one and it will be here sometime later this week, I think. Like you, I expect it to be my last one ever. This is what I got, does it sound right? It wasn’t very expensive is why I ask, although I specifically asked for “high end”. The photo says the specs, but some extra prose he added: ”2TB fast Samsung boot SSD and 8TB data drives (2 x 4TB). The 64GB Ram is a ton and would be able to handle any task. The 4060 Ti Nvidia is the best bang for the buck.” I will have to migrate and do all that stuff, too, YIKES! I don’t have a home cloud, but thanks to your post I now know I need one, LOL! Running to Google it now. Let me know what you think! I can upgrade, I assume until the boxes are unpacked. (I only have PSP X4 and 2022, so hopefully the PSP part will be easy-peasy.)
  14. Wow, that turned out great, Gwen! The card is really, really great, too, so I guess you aren’t a beginner, see next paragraph. Did you tell your son he is the baby bird with the giant mouth? Hahahaha! Next photo you can step back from the cement, say 5- 7 feet away. It’s ok if there is a seam or a dirt spot. Or you could go to a stucco wall. Then you can have two go-to textures, each completely different, that you can use any time. From there you can color them, or get Carole’s script that takes the photo and makes a blurry multicolored background from it. Darn it, I forget the name, can anybody help here? BECAUSE I MEANT TO BUY IT AT THE BIRTHDAY SALE AND FORGOT! Well, anyway, you put the colors you want on your cement with the script, then when you go to the different blending modes it’s a wow! Size of the image is perfect.
  15. Hi, Gwen, I’ve been super busy with daffodils which takes me out of the campus for 6-weeks, Mid- March thru April. I just now saw this. Sounds like you’ e got them going! on the woods and bridge photo you posted, that is EXACTLY what I meant. So you put that on a background of maybe off- white and change the transparency so you can see the pic, but it isn’t wholly in-your-face visible. Bottom Layer off white or white, next layer above it, your photo at 20% transparency. Or less or more… 🙂. I HATE directions like that, but it’s the truth. Now run out to your garage wall or a parking garage wall or a cement wall or even a cement driveway if you can take a pic straight down with your toes not showing, or somewhere-anywhere, and take a pic. Now put that on TOP of your photo at say, 2% transparency. This sort of pebbles your photo so it isn’t quite so crisp. You can stop anywhere along the process, but the final thing is to play with the blending mode sliders. Try “multiply” with your cement wall. Now you should have to squint to even tell it”s a bridge in the woods and the photos you’d scrap on top will take center stage. Suzy
  16. This is awesome, Marie-Claire! You’re right, the charm doesn’t look metallic, but it *does* look wooden, so that’s cool, too. The metallic letters are beautiful, as is the entire layout. I’m going to Google Scottish Collie because I thought you once said Pancho was a Rough Collie. I want to see if there is a difference in Europe that we don’t know about over here! ☺️
  17. There are a million ways…. from your own photos. Just a woods with a creek photo, say, then blown up to the smallest side being 3600 pixels (or whatever size you’re after). Backgrounds can be blurry with the resize. Crop to,size. Put your zip line or camping photos on it. a photo of a parking garage wall, a stucco wall, an elevator door…..resize, place on a colored paper and mess with the blending modes, maybe “multiply” then move the transparency slider to 40% and see what it looks like. You can use packing peanuts, a park bench back, old wooden storage barn, peeled paint fence or wall. I used my wood floors, and also a painted wall where you could see the puckers of the paint roller. As long as the “original” is over 12” square, it will work. (I use 16” as my parameter) photo of Kraft paper, waxed paper, butcher paper, florist paper, cardboard box panel, packing paper (even if it’s been crumbled). Then add color. And blend modes, use those sliders! as long as it’s for your own use, these are sometimes popular: scan or take a photo of newspaper, wrapping paper, wallpaper. When you have it, start looking at textures. effects-texture, texture. Add one that is subtle, but not too subtle. I find this the trickiest. Post your results!
  18. Bonnie, these LOs are all just wonderful! Just so fun and lively (though the subject matter doesn’t hurt, LOL!) ***and tell the photographer or the group selfie that she has some serious skills!***. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 We can barely get 4 people in one! Question for you (or Carole) — On the “Photos in a Circle” template, it says they can be any shape. Can it also be any size? For instance, all I’ve seen go on a 3600 square mat, but what if I wanted to do 9”? Would that work? Or even 4”? (Maybe I’d want to do elements - birds circling or little flowers or something)
  19. Hamstrings. Or heart. (I haven’t been keeping up with these, they’ve gone so fast!)
  20. Oh, gosh, I didn't see the first one until now - love the out of bounds with both the giraffe AND his leaves out of the frame LOL! I just love the round disks in the middle and the stamped paper - well the giraffe paper underneath, too. An excellent LO all around.
  21. That is so nice - the stripe paper and the dots withthe tilt of the backing papers. So happy! And the alpha is fun, too. (Wouldn't you hate to have to reach into that bucket of fish futter? Blick!)
  22. Mary, This is just perfection! I cannot believe you made that net! Or the fish hooks. Really, it is just exquisite. Corrie, I wonder if anybody would like to join us? Isn’t that script amazing? And so versatile. PLUS it’s good for 2024, but also 2021 and 2029 - anything because the second line can say anything you want. Does anybody want to do a P52 - photo a week with Corrie and me? As she said, if anything big comes along, it can just have its own page(s) stuck right in there with the singlets.
  23. Healthy Heart Rate (2 Hs to match Corrie’s 2 Gs, hahaha)
  24. X = xercise oh, wait, I spelled it wrong. 🤣🤣🤣 how about X-training?
  25. O = One More!
