I would like to know what Affinity apps you have or plan to get.

Although I do not plan on teaching Affinity Designer, I found that some "interesting effects" are only available if you have the Designer app in addition to the Photo one. I don't want to pressure anyone into getting an extra app just for a couple of effects but if most people have it anyways, then it might be worth mentioning those effects.

It was not what I had in mind in the beginning, but due to the circumstances, we ended up getting the Universal License with all 3 apps.

I'm same as Christina - the cost was just too attractive for all three - -oddly, for you at least, I didn't care about Affinity Photo. It was Affinity Publisher I wanted to buy!!  (Microsoft has done the same thing to MS Publisher that Corel has done to PSP!  They just dumped it and are no longer supporting it.)

Publisher is the program that the gal from TLP uses to scrap, not Photo. With the 3 programs working together seamlessly, it was a no brainer for me to not buy all three.

I have used MS Publisher at work a few times in the past and didn't know it was no longer supported.

The Inspiration A to Z was created in InDesign by someone I paid. I no longer can use InDesign (since Adobe messed up the count of "activations") so as I was thinking of making a second similar book, I would have used MS Publisher, but I might use Affinity Publisher when the time comes!

At the moment I only have Affinity Photo for the free 90 days trial and I will certainly buy that one. If and when I buy the others will depend on the price of them all. I have to make that decision when I'm visiting my family in California and I don't take my laptop with me, I'll see how it works out.

It is going to be discontinued and no longer supported in October 2026 aka no longer available in the MS Office 365 suite of programs (they need to lower the price if they get rid of a program IMO). They are recommending that any important files be converted to another format. Apparently CorelDraw can open  the .pub files Publisher creates. As for replacement programs, I see that Canva is the most recommended. Other programs recommended include CorelDraw, InDesign and Affinity Publisher.

I'm sure I'll jump on board with Affinity eventually.  Perhaps when they are all 3 on sale in the summer, if they do that again.  I would think I'd like to have all three if it's financially possible.

Susan, if not in summer, then Black Friday for sure.

I would also like to encourage anybody ready to purchase -- right now-- to contact Affinity customer service by email and tell them about this group trying to learn Affinity, and how sad you are not to be able to play in the reindeer games and could they pretty please offer you all three at the super sale price, 50% off?

They are the old Serif Page Plus, and a nicer bunch of folks you would ever meet.  Just try it whenever you are ready to buy it.
