That was the easy part. The challenge was to choose the layout I would want to use for all letters of the alphabet. I think this one is generic enough to allow me colour changes and element placements to mix it up a bit. I chose B&W this time b/c of the subject. That album is a treasure, but it contains images of unnamed people (from the 1930s or so) whom I know are somehow related to me. But there are no identifiers on so many pictures. I call it "Dad's Mystery Album", and so it will remain despite my best research efforts. The threads are there to show very tenuous connections that exist. Expand Julie I had the same "problem" to choose something for all the letters because it also dictates the way I have to take my photos. I'm happy with the flashcard template I made and I can chance the color and I will certainly use different fonts. I'm starting to like this challenge a lot and every time I see an item I'm considering it for a specific letter. 2

Susan Ewart Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Alphabet Photo Challenge A Yay, I'm finally on the board. It's been awhile since I used PSP and my camera. Not happy with the results from my camera but went with it anyway. I am using a playing card I made as a preset shape. the middle is cut out for a 4x5 aspect ratio image, added an outline and kept the inner white part of the card untextured, and textured the part past the black outline. Having a horizontal card presents a bit of a challenge in adding text. Some weeks might be a vertical card, some horizontal and even some with a different size shape (like square) for the photo. I'm following everyone else by keeping a list going. Some letters I can find lots of items for and some are going to be more of a challenge. I didnt know if the texture would show up (and most playing cards are crazily textured like this), so I made it a bit more textured than usual. Forgot to mention. My brother and I made the wooden Abacus. He did the wood part, I did the finishing and I made the beads (glass, in a torch, around a mandrel, into the kiln to anneal). the little one on jade came from my uncle, it's quite old. the trinkets would be what is being purchased and about to be tallied up. I learned this is a Chinese style Abacus. Edited January 17 by Susan Ewart adding information 1 5

Ann Seeber Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) @Cassel - I know these are to be posted every two weeks. I posted my A on Thursday Jan. 9 but don't know if that was late or early. LOL What sort of schedule do you envision? When should I post my "B?" or does each letter get a new topic? Edited January 18 by Ann Seeber 1

Cassel Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 I finally found my A photo to take! A is for Apron. My husband loves to cook and bake and had asked for an apron a few years ago, for Christmas. I found one, but it was more with a "fall" theme. He was happy to have one to fit but the following year, I used my sewing skills and with some Christmas fabric, I recreated the pattern from the first apron and made him a holiday one (he does more baking for Christmas). So this is the Christmas Apron for the letter A. I also decided that I would turn the photos to black and white and only keep the featured "object" in colors. The main font is called Euphorigenic and the script font is Giddyup 7
