This baby squirrel visited us only on one day.  We've had a number of momma squirrels leave their kids with us to baby sit for a few hours.  These babies are oblivious to harm and the dangers in it's surroundings.  Even coming right up to my feet. The magpies had a keen interest in taking it home to meet their hatchlings.  I spend 3 hours watching it and chasing off the magpies and male squirrels (who are just mean and nasty to the little ones) and the neighbours cats.  His/hers mom only came twice to check on it. Not really Mother-of-the-Year material.   They run around for a bit and then just where ever they are, they stop and sleep.  I can go right up to it while is sleeps, sometime it would wake up look at me and go back to sleep.  They would sleep 3 or 4 times.  It's amazing they make it through this time.  The picture of it sleeping is only about 2.5 feet off the ground.

I used one paper from Gina Jones-A night in October Solid paper 02 (Digital Scrapbook)

Font is Flower Love (Creative Fabrica)

    Photos: mine

This was a tough one to design, took me some time to find something I was okay with.

I agree. ? I made all the photo's etc. to the size needed, hid them and added  the photo's one by one and then the elements. Especially the short stitching, where to put it??

  3. I have never done a DIY ,but it was fun!??

It's a bit busy for my liking, but it isn't "ugly" either ? The font is Creepy crawlers (?) And Marisa Lerin was my elements source ?

During the bootcamp we learned (again) how to put edges around the photo's, that worked fine. (I completly forgot how to do that, I just added mats when I needed a border. ?

I havent made a tag yet.  An unexpected passing away of my sister-in-law's mother on Sunday had me working on my condolence layout instead.  Whew, that goodness I was able to go back to the Build A Kit workshop to the frame section and follow the instructions again.  I used Lab 13-1 again for the shape, hearts looked weird inside hearts so i used circles.  Frame is using Add borders from the master class Framing 101.  My photo, and fonts are Romantic Serif (title), Sea Gardens (words in the template) and Audaciti (journaling).  The title does have a bevel to help it stand out a bit, also has a very small shadow.  reduced opacity on the title and journaling because black was too contrasty. I used the selection tool to fit my words in on the left side.  the right side I just used a right aligment as it looked better that way.

Nothing bad to report with PSP 2023.  today it outshined me and any issue's I had was my dull brain at work and not paying attention.

  5. The font is Veni and arial. Kit comes from Marisa Lerin 1000 papers kit. The tea elements were in my stash.(Pixelscrapper, Marisal- England))

The font wasn't suitable to replace one character of, as was showed in the video. I couldn't figure out to use or notuse a shadow on the teapot, cake as it looks like a stamp ?‍♂️

Photo was taken at the showgardens in Appeltern last sunday. ?

It was nice to participate again, some things I forgot, so was a good reminder. ?

  6. If you would like to print your lay-outs, you can go to a printservice/photobook service. They are a bit expensive. But my printer is a good one, so I could print with book quality. But then , how to make it into a book without a photobook service?

Laminate the pictures so they won't damage? Or use thick photopaper and a device to put spirals in it? Or use cardboard for a cover and then spirals?

How do you do that with your projects??

Have you tried putting the flower under the photo but on top of the green paper? That would hide the stem of the flower.

Although my thought on your first layout was to not have as much shadow on the flower and make it look more like a sticker.

The flower is now on top, just like it has been thrown there. ?

Scrap Bootcamp: Lesson 5 - Yuba River Getaway - Daughter Deb took this panoramic photo as she enjoyed a getaway when she joined the California pipevine swallowtail butterflies who were sunning themselves on the rocks along the Yuba River outside Nevada City.
The title font is Berlin Kitchen, the journaling font is Goudy Old Style. Background color fill with asphalt texture, photo mat wood tile01 pattern with hardwood texture. Butterflies are from internet searches for pipevine swallowtails.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the stripe pattern; used the directions for making a plaid but stopped before adding a second, rotated layer. The colors are from the portion of the photo that shows on the far left.

I call this "Dinner and a Movie".  I watched a movie (tutorial) and made dinner (or in this case breakfast) at the same time.  Yummy!  I made duplicates of the onions to help as pep to my oncoming workout and instead of big pickles which I ate the last of last night, I chose those little ones (by resizing smaller).  I think they are called gherkins?  they are so yummy.  I like them on the side.  You might see my top slice is smaller.  You know how it is when you get the end of the bread and you have a nice full size piece and the only other choices are the end piece or a smaller size one next to the end piece.  I wouldnt normally have a knife and fork with my sandwhich, but today I will live on the wild side and try to use them to eat my sandwhich.

All kidding aside, this is always a fun exercise.  I totally forgot about dragging from the layers pallet one layout to another.  it only took me 8 times through the bootcamp to remember, well, er...that is IF i actually remember this time.    ?

I forget a lot too, espcially when you don't use it a lot at paintshopping. But I have Carole's tips and tricks book nearby and try to find what I want there. ?

  11. Day 7

Because of the round shape of the "shed" I used a mat with circles on it. And instead of squares to cut out, also circles this time to fit the round shapes of the "shed".

The font is unround (The yellow ones) I didn't look nice to have them in different colours, will maybe do that in another project. Vormen (Shapes In English) is the VAGrounded font (Like it!)

The shed looks a bit like a Teletubbie house ?

I should of added a reverse shadow to the left of the big mat, I thought the map was completly (sp?) to the left of the project ?

It's nice to repeat things from earlier bootcamps, I forgot for example to use the magic wand to create borders around  the photo's, I always add a mat:).

I saw beautiful projects in the gallery, I'm now taking the time to look at all of them in this thread in the forum and add my "likes".
