me too.  I wonder if it locks the settings in no matter if you try and change them in the F11 Variance palette.

oops i just saw Ann answered it for you.  I was WAAAAAY off.

Suz, it's a Layer thing, not a Tool thing...

I'm now wondering what painting with paintbrush with "Lock" tool is all about.  Didn't see anything like that in the PSP help topics.

Hi Daniel - Carole explained that the Lock keeps the transparency and lets the "paint" focus on the object alone. Be sure to undo the lock. It can make problems further along... hth

It's sad to think they have to survive all the seasons, the predators and manage to feed themselves.

Actually, I'm now feeding seven outside cats twice a day so any hunting they do is a supplement. We just trapped four of them: 3 boys were neutered and returned here. I have a "cat cabin" filled with straw on my front porch where I feed them, so they do have shelter even though the porch is also covered. The leftover female, Brandi, is still too young to spay so they're putting her in foster in hopes to domesticate her as she's quite friendly. I still have 3 more to trap including a surprise twin to Brandi that I'm calling Randi. It looks like i may have been feeding both all along and not realizing there were twins in the mix. Predators are mostly raccoons that do threaten newborn kittens. The rescue moves fast when they hear of a litter. No coyotes, thank goodness! I remember your neighbor's cat with the "sexy tail" from the last vector class! LOL

the neighbours cat does his business in the garden 😪.

on this topic, I'm involved with TNR which is Trap/Neuter/Release of stray community cats that can never live indoors. When teaching kittens (who are able to be domesticated when they're young) to use a litter box, it is recommended to first use organic potting soil, which is similar to being outdoors. I know most cats prefer to be clean and I wonder if your local cat would use a litter pan instead of the garden if it had garden soil in it? They tend to prefer the confined space, which is why they love kids' sandboxes, too. You could add sand to it, and that might even be better and keep the cat out of your garden. Just slowly nudge it away a little further every day and before you know it your garden will be cat-free!😽

Still working on the workshop. Need to practice. This time I made the outline of the dinosaur, exported it as a shape, used it and changed it to a raster shape and painted it using the paintbrush with the lock tool and this is what I came up with.

    Cute!

I have no idea why the top text on the flower is blurry

Suz, from here it looks like the background color varies and that exact spot is close to the color of the text. Possibly??

Activate the object in question and go to Selection > Modify > Recover Anti-Alias.

Oh, wow, I didn't know this. I also hadn't noticed that my anti-alias would stop working spontaneously from time to time. I do take special care with the settings for the Pick Tool which seem to change without warning. I've also realized it may depend on if I just used a script as they do change settings without warning.

  8. Proofreader's Notes: "Lilies" (only 2 "Ls" in lilies); "pistil, the female reproductive part of a flower." (Only one "L" in pistil).

Has your letter L developed a stutter? 😉😉

Beyond my ribbing you, I do love this layout. ❤️ I must try that with a swashy font!

Third time was the charm. The first time, I tried using Ctrl-V at the "paste" step, and my cut-out disappeared into the ether. Second time, the Cut-out didn't actually cut out. The line appeared on my object, but no "hole." Third time, all worked as planned. Hooray!

Alicia, I'm glad it finally worked. Your stories are rather amusing... 😉

Jnet: I wish you the best on the move. The stress can take a toll on you, so take care.

For the passwords, yuk and double yuk! When you can, check into password managers. There are several free versions of the more popular ones. Also, current browsers have built-in managers. I use one that can store information in the cloud and access it from anywhere and on any device.

    Good luck!

Jnet, I agree a password manager is a good idea. I use LastPass and I only have to remember (or write down) one master password and the app secures everything. It generates unbreakable passwords up to 15 characters long. I used the free version for a while but I ended up upgrading to premium for further needs but the free version is certainly sufficient.

Ann, nicely done and I find the historic facts of such places always very interesting, especially when there is a Dutch connection. When I was in California this year we had a wine tasting on a big vineyard on one of the trips we made. The young man that came to explain about the wines we got to taste, asked where we came from and of course I said Netherlands. Well he was delighted to hear that because his grandfather was Dutch and we had a nice conversation about it. Much to the annoyance of my son in law who is Swiss; there are not so many Swiss decedents in the States, Dutch however I find them everywhere.

Thank you, Corrie. If you ever visit the East Coast of the USA, be sure to take in the New Paltz area in Ulster County, NY, where the Dutch influence is strong, along with Manhattan where the Dutch thought they purchased the land. The native tribe didn't consider it a purchase but as tribute for their hospitality. To them, land use was communal and not something to be owned. If you ever really do get to my area, we must be sure to meet up! 😊

    Hello to all participants.

I arrive late, because I am in the boxes full to bursting from our 52 years of life together for my husband and me. I think I will have enough to sort through, throw away, keep and give away everything we have accumulated over these 52 years.

In addition to the move, I was surprised when I turned on my computer that all my saved passwords had disappeared. I think I'll have to change them all because the ones I have in note don't go through, as if I needed that!

So good to see you again, Jnet! Sorry about the very annoying password issue. Good luck with your move...I hate moving!
