  1. Very beautiful Julie. I tend to work both ways depending on the project. Photo first if I have no layout in mind and Layout first if I'm doing a workshop or using a template and need to fit photos to the template or theme. Your work is outstanding.
  2. I was wondering....can you write a script that magically transfer to us the energy you have for all that you are doing (lots that we don't even know about)? 🙏
  3. Thank you Cristina, that high compliment makes my heart sing.
  4. My friends of Affinity! I'm posting this info here because I know everyone looks here. I was working on my Lab Challenge (for the Diamond members) and needed to check how to do an element I learned in the Basic Scrap Course. Guess what? There is now videos for Affinity in the Basic Scrap Course (available for Diamond member anytime - I think) if you want extra practice with layouts using Affinity. Find it under Classes>Beginner>Basic Scrap Course 1 and scroll past the PSP video and you'll find the Affinity ones. The Basic course is really good, especially right after the Bootcamp when you are wondering where you go from there.
  5. OMG! So cute!
  6. this shot and this layout is really beautiful. I'm in awe of anyone who sews, I got two left feet when it comes to sewing. Even is she is squished she is still beautiful.
  7. Julie, this is so incredibly beautiful and touching.
  8. I'm sorry to hear about your grandson's best friend (Chooch). It's so hard and heartbreaking to let them go. This wonderful layout will be a treasure for him.
  9. Wow, a BIG THANK YOU Cristina. I had a laugh at the professional part. The picture that takes all day to make, I'd go broke if I went in the photography business.
  10. And don't you find it all surreal? Like it's some kind of joke or movie we don't realize we are participating in. If this was someone scripting a movie, no one would believe it. Good music, nature, good company and Campus tutorials will keep us sane in a world where the insane rule. also, a quick question: is FOX network a joke? Are they want-to-be actors or actual news reporters?
  11. Thank you so much Cristina. I think I need to add another page, just got something cool and odd from work yesterday. Brought it home to take photo's of it. hopefully this weekend.
  12. These are fabulous, so much can be done with them as papers. Ice is infinitely interesting.
  13. Thank you Michele. If I wasnt so stubborn I'd have made it a vertical shot, but noooo, I have to be stubborn and I even deluded myself by calling it a "challenge" to keep everything landscape. ☚ïļ
  14. This is really neat Corrie. Is the background already smoky looking or does the script do that? It looks really interesting.
  15. Well, I should have done an Egg portrait like I first thought. But then I got complicated and wanted to use this teeny tiny iron pan (was a Christmas gift that had a cookie mix in it that you bake in the little iron pan). I'm no food photographer and I cook eggs even worse. I'm sure there is tricks to keep the egg white from getting air bubbles but I wasn't going to worry about it, and I have yellow walls in my photo studio and I made the eggs a wee bit sickly yellowish green. I should have just made the color green. To salvage this grungy half cooked egg I gave it a grungy background. This is not a win for me, at least I learned what I dont like. I do know I'm going to let these tiny (useless to me as cooking tools) pans get rusty, then they will make better subjects. I only wasted 3 eggs in the making of letter E. And we all know how expensive eggs are these days. I'm also trying to do everything landscape and use only one word. Because, who doesn't need MORE challenges. ðŸĪĢ
  16. What a cool re-find and a feel good story that we all need.
  17. WOW! This is stunning.
  18. Thank you Jeni. I'm having fun, which is probably why it's taking so long 😄. I'm glad you mentioned fonts. Normally I'd stick to a cohesive set of 2 or 3 fonts throughout, but decided this is the Office Of Oddities so I needed to keep it odd. Really, stamps and glitter and what-nots that I've posted are hardly odd but it's fun to pretend.
  19. I'm watching tutorials in the campus to avoid too much bombardment. I completely agree with you regarding soothing our souls. Thankfully spring is coming and we can get outside and listen to nature, nature is always honest and real.
  20. Here is lesson 5 and 7 together as I had imagined for the magazine. My big budget mag has two double page layouts - swanky! Now onto the back cover. And then the Alphabet Photo Challenge and then to Build A Kit and then to the Labs ðŸĪŠ
  21. Lesson 7. This one goes with Lesson 5. These watches are from my uncle, my father in law, maybe even my dad and my husband. I've had them for years in my craft room to use them from some craft project. I looked at them and thought, wow, some of them are actually quite nice. I think I will keep them. And the other is just some glitter I have, you can never have enough glitter in your life. I wish I had more time to make physical stuff like I used to.
  22. Here is lesson 6. I chose to make two sets of masks instead of all 4. The upper photo is Christmas Seal (sent out by the Lung Association) that I've gotten over the years. And the stamps belongs to my dad, he wasn't an avid stamp collector (his passion was coin collecting - sadly only a few coin sets remain as one of houses we lived in was robbed and most of the collection was stolen). and I forgot to add a rev. shadow frame so you could see the edges.
  23. Wow, I've never seen one of these, it's really breathtaking
  24. I really love the one of your parents. I love them all, but your parents one is just so perfect.
  25. This si beautiful Ann. I never did the workshop in 2021, I thought it way above my level at the time. I didnt know then that all Carole's classes can be done by beginners to advanced users. I love seeing you layouts all together like that. I think I'll still need an extra week to finish. Sigh. Thanks for showing it, I love to see all the magazines. And I get to arm-chair travel the world, free of charge!
