1. Thanks so much, Dawn <3

The theme for my gaming group (Fabulous Divas) today was "Welcome March." Nothing stood out in my mind about March except early crocuses if the weather is unseasonably warm. I used the Change to Target Brush tool quite a bit to get my purples and yellows on most of the elements I used.

  2. I'm putting what I learned from the masks class to use. It took me a long time to figure out how to do it, and I'm not even sure that I did it correctly, but I think it was a success. Heather said she'd like to learn to surf someday so I thought I would give her a little push on her birthday.

I like your layout, Britt. I agree with the others that everyone has their own style. If you're honestly looking for suggestions, maybe the hats on the top make it a little busy. I think without them "Sami Boy" would would be able to shine more and be the true star that he obviously is in your life. The ricrac you made is very cool; I'm going to have to learn to do that.

  3. Day 5. I had to brush on a couple of the snowflakes. The picture of the arctic fox was too small and I kept running into the edges. The photo is from Unsplash. I made the background with the kaleidoscope effect from a watercolor illustration I had. And the font is Flower Child by Skyla Design.
  4. I know I'm way behind, but here is Day 3. I used the lamp in the background of the original pic as my kaleidoscope background. It was a bit bold, but I think using the yellow for the two small frames and the text balanced it out. Maybe, maybe not as Cassel would say. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Carole, will these links stay permanent or do they expire?

  5. Day 2 ~ Can't forget Dad. That's actually the other half of the pic I cropped for Day 1. Mom and Dad went to Italy when I was a kid, maybe the mid to late 60's. I think this was in Rome.

I am enjoying everyone's interpretations of the different projects and I love that we're sharing not just our layouts, but our lives.

  6. I finally used Cassel's mask that she gave us a while ago to make a birthday card today. It gives such a pretty effect. I put a white layer underneath the mask group. Then I dragged the corners of the mask to show more of the flower pic. Also added some extra layers/effects for framing. Wish I could say I took the pic, but I didn't. Lily of the valley, so pretty yet so deadly.
  7. I finally got a chance to do Day 1. I don't know if I'll be doing any other days. For one thing, most of my photos are in storage because they weren't digital. Two of the pics I used here were scanned a long time ago. Another thing, I was too emotional while doing this; it took me hours. I am such a sentimental mush. Just looking at everyone else's pics got me a little teary-eyed. <3

  8. Thanks, ladies.

Dawn, the middle one was very difficult for me to do. I have OCD and it took me soooo long to get it just the way I wanted it. To tell you the truth, I never really got it exactly how I wanted it, but sometimes I just have to smack myself upside the head and say STOP!

Cristina, I wanted to go for a rustic look which I think I achieved.

  9. I wanted to give the Framing 101 class another look before it disappears. These are my second attempts at each of the three methods Cassel taught us. Hopefully the notes I took were complete enough so I can use what I've learned going forward. I added some stock photos after the fact. In hindsight I probably should have picked the photos first. :p
  10. I tried a mask! I used two drop shadows (plus and minus) on it. I don't know exactly what I was going for, but I kind of liked the effect. The original pic was a freebie from Alex Green Art. I cropped the flowers out of it and flood filled the mask layer. The font is Loveya Script.
