  1. I've been working on this for days and finally decided I was done. One of the themes for my gaming group recently had to do with cowgirls so I "borrowed" part of my co-admin's pic. The knotted rope was certainly a challenge. I watched Cassel's video several times. The entire layout was a challenge. Every time I changed one thing, I went back and changed something else. Maybe the Western theme wasn't for me. lol

Thanks and I tried to shadow the different parts of the knot but then the shadows went on top of already shadowed parts and it looked a mess!. And as I had already spent 3 evenings on that knot I couldn't see clearly what I should do, so I decided to ask it Carole in the Q&A with the idea that if I had a problem here maybe others would be interested too.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, try merging the different parts of the knot to one layer. I usually Merge Selected to New Layer then toggle off the visibility of the original layers. Then you can apply the shadow to the merged layer.

  4. This is for all my fellow font-a-holics. Fill in your name, frame the certificate, and proudly hang it above your computer.

Sorry it took so long, but I decided to start with a blank page. Several days, many errors, a bunch of restarts later et voilà! If you want the full-size jpg or pspimage, just let me know. 🙂

Hope you don't mind that I borrowed your logo, @Cassel. Some of you might recognize Cassel's Lace Edge 6 font on the outer layer of the frame; it can be used for more than just lace.

I am not a fan of any sports, and it frustrates me that Sport dominates our TV channels with one large event after another.

Several years ago there was a sports surcharge on my cable bill. I spoke to customer service and asked that all sports channels be removed from my account as I don't watch them. I was told they were included in the basic cable package and they couldn't remove the surcharge. I was not amused.

  6. I'm working on installing all the zips of PSP supplies I've downloaded which is taking a while. I also want to catch up on Master Classes I've missed of which there are many. One of the moderators in my Fab Divas group took over doing the daily pics when I was sick and she's having such a fun time doing them. As long as she's still enjoying herself, I can devote my time to PSP. This is a mutually satisfying arrangement for both of us. 🙂

  7. I usually only watch the gymnastics if I can catch it. I did floor and balance beam in high school way back when Cathy Rigby was the U.S. "star" gymnast in the early 70s. One year I qualified for the NY city-wide competition. The only reason was that at one meet there was a new judge who gave me a 7.6 score which was much higher than normal. I came in 10 out of 10. LOL

When you use the Pen tool, what value does the Tracking have? I find that if you start with a value around 60, the shakiness is not "captured" by the program as much as if the Tracking is much lower.

You are such a great problem-solver.  I had a similar problem with the Step value when using brushes. I don't know how you keep so much information in your head.

This is the very first time I have visited anniecdigitals.  She really does have some cool, unique  templates.  I replicated the letter B, which I will use to showcase some photos.

Annie is one of my favorite template designers. I've gotten some beautiful ones on the ALFLT Blog Train.

  10. Day 7

I was determined to finish this workshop and I did! (Pats herself on the back.) I mostly used things from a kit by Billie Irene from Digital Scrapbook. Cassel's twisted strings picture tube came in very handy. I made the embellishment on the top left by adding an inner bevel and some texture to a character from a decorative font. The text font is Miliki.

    Great workshop, everybody. ❤️

I went in a totally different direction with this.  I got to playing with some of the dingbat letters to see what they would look like extracted from different papers.  Then I decided I would like to know what each letter looked like.  One thing led to another. Well you know how that goes. LOL  I did not put any shadows on anything, but I did make the page of dingbats darker to show up better.  I also posted this pick on the facebook page  in a larger file.

kr down by the sea font examples with photo 6.jpg

I used to do that so I could better see the dingbats, but I didn't save them. Character Map is usually too small for me to see. I now have a few free font viewers that make it much easier for me.

I wouldn't call it claustrophia for me, but there are situations where I'm not comfortable if the space is too small and over-crowded (waiting rooms). And I don't like any crowds at all.

There's also enochlophobia which is the fear of crowds and cleithrophobia, the fear of being trapped. So many phobias that I don't fully understand. Maybe I have a little bit of everything. LOL

  13. Day 6 (one more day to go!)

I don't remember any specific childhood fears so I went with an adult one. It might have just been the mood I was in, but I wasn't inspired by this topic. I didn't want to skip this day so here it is.

The background paper was originally in bright colors so I used Image: Greyscale. Then I used Adjust: Hue and Saturation: Colorize until I got a color scheme I liked and went on from there...plaids and polka dots. I went on a Google search for pics to use. The title font is, appropriately, Claustrophobia from CF and the story font is Adventure from Pixel Sagas.

Love the green. Don't see it much in layouts and it's so fresh! I had a friend years ago who had to stay at the table until he ate all his peas, and he hated them. Still does.

Thanks, Julie. I don't particularly like green, but since the subject was brussel sprouts, I thought it was appropriate.

I think the most surprising to me is the flocks of Canada geese and the flocks of black vultures that hang about on the roof here in the city of Middletown. I do see white-tailed deer, skunks, groundhogs, chipmunks, many songbirds and woodpeckers, and our community cats.

The vultures would definitely give me the willies!

  16. Living on an island, we have many shorebirds and seabirds. On the beach, you can see various crabs, sea turtles, and even sea life like dolphins if you go out on the water!  Both the north and south shores of Long Island have their own unique features.

I've seen a few rabbits near my house which pleasantly surprised me. We have pigeons and squirrels, of course, and I love hearing the songbirds in the early morning hours.

For other wildlife, you would have to go to the less-populated areas. Then you'll see deer, foxes, opossums, and many other critters.

Below is the squirrel that likes to hang out on top of my a/c. Maybe he's hiding nuts in there? (That's the best pic I could get shooting through the window with its reflections and through the screen.)
