I am sitting here laughing, Sue. I saw your wonderful pages on Facebook and I had no clue what you were talking about because I hadn't read the Cass's newsletter yet. I was looking for the far vertical line and your left horizontal elements on your layouts. It all makes so much more sense now. LMAO

Nice work, Trish. Witchy Poo is awesome and your Halloween page is adorable.  I noticed you posted the Halloween in your Sunset in Essex post, too. Please edit it so we can see your sunset; I'll bet it's gorgeous.

Dawn and Annie, thanks for liking my card. It was a bit different from my usual stuff as I tried to make it in a style that my friend likes. I forgot to mention that the original pic is from a wonderful illustrator named Sunny Gu.

Your project is lovely, Jnet. The picture of that field is beautiful and the background paper you picked really complements the entire project.

 

Thanks for the advice, Annie. I realized that before I posted this latest version. I just didn't want to lose the sky. Instead of cropping to put the horizon at the midpoint, I moved down the smaller layers to line up with the horizon.  I think if I had used the straighten tool before I starting creating the new layers, it would have worked better. Your new projects look great. Even though the horizons don't line up on Migration, it's still beautiful. I think we can use this technique in many different ways and still get great results.

For some reason I haven't been receiving my usual email notifications even though I'm subscribed to everything and I check the "Notify me of follow-up replies via email" box. That means I have to rely on my memory to come here and check the current threads. Unfortunately, my memory is not the most reliable source. LOL

Dawn & Annie, you both did wonderful pages using this technique.

 

I worked on (and hopefully improved upon) my original version of this pic that I posted in the Sunset Challenge thread. Wish I had straightened out the horizon before I made the frames, but this is a lesson I plan on remembering. Thanks again, Sue for sharing this with us.

Dawn, I took your idea of using the corner punches for other than the corners. I had to do a quickie birthday card and thought this might work.

I absolutely love your card, Dawn. You know I love pretty much anything vintage. You always give me new ideas. I've never thought of using the corner punches anywhere but, well, in the corners. The way you used them is awesome!

 

Sue, those tags are precious. It's so clever how you filled not just the tags, but the santa/snowman parts of them, too. I'm guessing you merged first, then selected and flood-filled with the pics. I didn't notice that detail when I saw them on FB.

Trish, I think I gain weight just looking at your cakes! And thank you for asking how to change your profile. I was finally able to change my name. I don't know why I didn't just ask. "Micfin" is a nickname I use on some sites to try and stay more or less anonymous. When I first signed up here, I didn't know anyone, but you've all become friends to me.

 

Made a card for a friend of mine today. (Still have to work on perfecting those drop shadows; they boggle my mind.) I am so in love with Cass's Flower Corner Punches that I can't stop using them! The center piece I made from a tutorial.

Sue, I figured out what the problem was. My horizon was not centered on the pic so centering the copies was not the right thing for me to do in this case. I moved them to line up with the horizon. I think it's a definite improvement. I should start from scratch, but I'm too tired. Next project :)

 

Annie, I love your page and the text is great.

 

Sue, you should sell your calendars. And your experience with that mama coyote was one in a million.

 

 

Sue, I did center them, but I guess something went wrong. That's one of the reasons I kept starting over from scratch. Maybe I scaled them incorrectly? Whatever it is, I'll keep trying.

 

I love all of your work, as you already know. I think I've seen most of what you just posted except for that last one. It absolutely looks 3-D; an exceptional job.

 

You know, I can use all the techniques I learn, but I just don't have the creativity to come up with many original ideas. I've always been more of a "mimic" in all things creative e.g. music, art, dance. I'm not complaining; just explaining. I always enjoy what I can do.

 

Dawn, since I know you're not on Facebook, I'll share a screenshot of the triple frame directions that Sue posted. If the screenshot is not clear enough, please let me know and I'll email the instructions to you.

The papers and the bee are freebies from AnnieC Digitals. I'm sure you recognize Cass's Floral Corner Brush used with the Eraser tool. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I LOVE THE CORNER BRUSHES!

 

The text (Stray Bullet Smooth font) ended up being a very happy accident. I tried several different methods including 1) Cass-GlitterSticker script, 2) creating text as a selection, and 3) the Word Sticker portion of Cass's Lab 09 Mod 05. I don't remember how many layers I ended up with (including drop shadows) and I kept turning them on and off to see which I liked best. At one point I got an unexpected result and Eureka! I ended up using a combination of all. Happy accidents are the best.
