Well, I should have done an Egg portrait like I first thought. But then I got complicated and wanted to use this teeny tiny iron pan (was a Christmas gift that had a cookie mix in it that you bake in the little iron pan). I'm no food photographer and I cook eggs even worse. I'm sure there is tricks to keep the egg white from getting air bubbles but I wasn't going to worry about it, and I have yellow walls in my photo studio and I made the eggs a wee bit sickly yellowish green. I should have just made the color green. To salvage this grungy half cooked egg I gave it a grungy background. This is not a win for me, at least I learned what I dont like. I do know I'm going to let these tiny (useless to me as cooking tools) pans get rusty, then they will make better subjects. I only wasted 3 eggs in the making of letter E. And we all know how expensive eggs are these days.
I'm also trying to do everything landscape and use only one word. Because, who doesn't need MORE challenges. 🤣
I think it's great!

In the Netherlands you don't get paid for blood/plasma donations but you do get something to drink and to eat. There are strict regulations about who can give blood to assure that it can be used for transfusions. There is always a shortish of blood for the blood groups that are less common and sometimes people with those groups will be called in for an extra donation. People who have given a great many times get some sort of medal and flowers or a giftcard with a small amount of money on it to thank them. Due to some medical condition I can not donate my blood, my husband had to when he was doing his conscription time and continued for some years after that.
When I donated, there was a box you could check, "for research only." I don't know if they still have that because they check for pretty much all diseases now. When I started donating, back in the 80s, they were very concerned about HIV and didn't know much about it.

F = Fruit Fly
Aren't they annoying? -
I donated blood and platelets (via apheresis) for many years. I received cookies and juice after the blood donations and Tums (for the calcium) during apheresis. Whenever I get blood tests at my doctor's office, I tell them they should supply cookies and/or juice so the patients don't get light-headed afterwards. I bring my own now. lol
I live in NY and don't think the blood bank pays for donations, but things could have changed. You could probably get paid if you give it to drug companies or some other studies.-

S = Silverfish / Firebrats
Domestic species such as silverfish and firebrats may cause extensive damage to household goods. They often feed on wallpaper paste, bookbindings, and the starch sizing of some textiles. Cardboard and other paper products may also be damaged. The species is particularly long lived, some as much as 6 years.
I may have to give up on this month's game if people keep posting pics. LOL

Too many people don't know how to have a conversation with people who have different views. We used to have civil talks and learned from each other. I still try. Oh, and it's really cold here. lol

I chose A Winter's Tale by Freddie Mercury and Queen, recorded just prior to his death. The background is a winter photo from Beacon, NY, by Sforza. The font is Bahnschrift. The text on the photo reads: "A Winter's Tale" is a song by Queen, from the album Made in Heaven, released in 1995 after Freddie Mercury's death in 1991. It was written after the Innuendo sessions, inspired as Mercury was staring out the windows of his apartment, in Montreux, Switzerland. The song has a psychedelic, dreamy feel, and describes what Mercury saw outside the windows. Mercury wrote and composed the song, and also performed the vocals and keyboards (although the track is credited to Queen). In the 1995 documentary Queen: Champions of the World, it was stated that this was, if not the first, then an extremely rare style of recording for Mercury, as it was all performed in one take live in the studio. It was stated in the film that Mercury had always insisted upon music being completed prior to the vocal arrangement beginning, but acknowledged that he had little time left and there was not enough time to work on it differently. The song was released as the second single from the album. In the UK the single was also available in a special limited edition green paper CD case which resembled Christmas wrapping.
It's a lovely layout and song. He was a one-of-a-kind talent.

I didn't have time to comment on everyone's work, but I loved the variety of styles and themes.
Through the pages, I went to so many places, shared sweet moments, and learned a lot.
Thank you to everybody who decided to share their work!

Donna, I get a swishing sound when each page is turned...
There's an on/off volume icon on the bottom. It's the sound of a page turning.

This has nothing to do with crafting, but several hospitals here have Baby Cuddler programs in the NICU. Volunteers comfort babies when their parents cannot be there. The babies in these programs tend to do much better.

Michele, I didn't compare it with the font Harmony had used in the layout, but I found this one on the My Fonts site.
Sorry, Cristina, I meant to ask @Harmony Birch if she knew where she got it and/or who created the Wavy font. I searched everywhere I could with no luck.

Just an update on my husband. He came home from hospital this morning, and we are all very happy that he is back home again. He is still in pain but that is expected. Now is the time for him to recover.
Great news!

The font is called Wavy and it is one of my favourites
I searched for this font, but I can't find it. Do you know where you got it or who created it?
