I was thinking about my H.S. yearbook when I remembered a former classmate had sent me a copy of our sixth grade graduation pic. I used a whole bunch of elements from DS/PS. The font is Sketchzone.
Now you have to guess which one is me!

When I saw this prompt about school, I thought oh-oh, not many pix available. I have spent my life avoiding being in front of the camera; hence there are not that many pix around, especially in those days when no one was carrying a camera around 24/7. We didn't have such a thing as Grade 8 graduation; I think I missed high school graduation (after Grade 13), and I also passed on both university ceremonies too. I was a pretty good student overall (it was expected at home). I was also into sports, but very traditional ones such as basketball and volleyball, track, etc. We didn't have a pool or tennis courts, or archery and fencing.
You need to know that the village where I grew up was small, as well as the schools there. The peak population of the high school was about 200 students, but we put out some great teams over the years and brought home lots of trophies and other awards. So I finally found a photo (from the newspaper back then which is not great quality) of me in sports. I am No. 22 in the back row. Our school colours were green & white. The high school was torn down 🤔 in 1980.
Great layout. Wish I had my yearbook handy, but it's in storage.

BTW, if you're a Prime member, you get a free book to download for your Kindle. There is usually a choice of about six different genres to pick from. Not bestsellers, but free is free. lol

I agree that making a layout for a man is more challenging. You nailed it!

Wish I could buy one, but it's still a bit pricey for me ($174 CAD ), it's mortgage renewal year...rates have tripled since the last renewal 5 yrs ago.
Even on Prime Day? 😢

I too use a Kindle Fire which is equivalent to an iPad in usefulness, at about 1/3 the price. My grandson, Tyler, got a new Kindle Fire and took it with him on vacation to Bali, Indonesia. He had a very long flight so he could use it to play video games and watch movies in full living color. The color resolution on a Kindle is awesome! I started reading Carole's new book yesterday on my Kindle, and the first thing I liked is the table of contents is interactive so I can jump around in the book just by touching the screen on the chapter/topic that I want to see. No scrolling necessary, and, in fact, with a Kindle, you don't scroll, you swipe left to turn a page. I also have the Kindle app on my iPhone and find it useful for reading in doctor's waiting rooms, etc., instead of lugging around the full Kindle. My Kindle is the 7-inch version which I find comfortable. My fingers are arthritic, and I have difficulty with larger books. Amazon has its own version of an app store and the link is there on the Kindle screen. It is android based, like the Samsung phones. Here is an illustration of mine in its VanGogh case, though mine is the green and pink cherry orchard design.
I love that cover! I have a 7" with a purple flower design on my cover and a 10" with a kind of dark sky, clouds, and stars cover. It's much easier for me to read on the 10" now, but the 7" is easier to carry with me.

I also used to be a avid reader and I prefer a printed physical book. I like holding a book and turning the pages. And i like being able to see the whole page at once. Not like digital where I have to scroll up and down, and if I want to see a whole page at once I have to make it too small to read. I can get relaxed in any position with a book and take it anywhere with me. whereas the only thing I have to read a book digitally is my desktop. I find because the screen is big I lose my place on the line and it's quite bright to lengthy reading.
I do my reading on my Kindle Fire 10. It's plenty big to see a full page that can be easily read. If you grab it during Prime Days, you can get it for more than 50% off.
Amazon.com: Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, built for relaxation, 10.1" vibrant Full HD screen, octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, latest model (2023 release), 64 GB, Black : Electronics-

I used to be an avid reader. Now I spend my time creating digital art and playing computer games. I do a little reading, but nothing like I did years ago.

Maybe in the 1980s?
Nope, but I like that everyone's trying to make me younger than I am.

None of us are Millenials so no participation trophies. 🤣

I'll hazard a guess too. You said you were one of the stoners and if you mean by that your were a fan of the Rolling Stones...... it could be the mid to end sixtieth!
Stoner has a different meaning than being a fan of the Rolling Stones. Back then it meant we smoked pot.

I thought I would try the split page technique using text today. I'm not thrilled with how the text came out, but it was my first try. The main font is Jean Jingga and the journaling text is Jezebel Pro. The background is from Peakpx.
I had to merge all the layers before reducing the size to 600. Otherwise, the journaling text disappeared. I think others have mentioned that it happens when the text is in a selection.

Is anyone else old enough to remember Patti Playpal? She was about three feet tall and was the perfect companion for a little girl.
I used Cass's photo corners script that I won; I love it! The journaling font is Billy Signature and the title font is Lovely Honey. I made the background paper.

Along a street I always pass on my way to do the grocery shopping, our local authority has decided to sow a wildflower mixture instead of the normal grass seeds. This was done so the weekly mowing could be skipped to cut back the costs. This is done on many spots in my village and this year, thanks to the abundant rain the flowers are doing fantastic. It is a wild meadow on a very small scale. This week was no exception qua rain and I had no photos to share at all, so this evening I went on foot and took a lot of photos including this one. It is Birdsfoot trefoil and afterwards I used a setting of studiolight get all the attention on the flowers
I love wildflowers.

Now I see it's all in the words (I am not good with words), and why spark didn't spark much creativity in me. hahaha might have to give it a second chance.
I've also used NightCafe; you can get free credits daily. https://creator.nightcafe.studio/
Some of the creations there are amazing. There are many style choices that, for me, are very confusing. Some of the creators share their prompts which is very helpful.-

Ya, turns out hubby had one, since we upgraded to Win 10. and now I'll soon have to upgrade to Win 11. Not thrilled about the constant screenshots it will be taking (especially when I'm doing online banking or putting in passwords!). I've read you can disable it but wont have use of windows snipping tool. Hubby watches a lot of tech shows and said the computer techys in the industry are up in arms about it. I didn't pay much attention because I'm just person they will be able to steal whatever data they want and I wont even know it. Kind of like that doorbell cam company that told all it's customers their doorbell snapshots were on a local HD (the customers) and would never be uploaded to the cloud (aka: there is no cloud; only your files on someone else's computer/server), then customers started getting text messages of the screenshots they had long deleted from their doorbell cam system. Turns out the company was also sending it to the cloud even though they stated on their website that they never store on the cloud. No apologies from the company thus far as they are heading to court I believe. The regulators in the US arent too happy about it, hence the court case.
I've been using Lightshot for screenshots for years.

This took me hours to do (with lots of breaks and blank stares). I tried a bunch of things including masks, but I just didn't have it in me. Being sick has given me brain fog in addition to exhaustion, and the oppressive heat isn't helping. The little girl and the sunflower are from CF. The fonts are akaDylan Plain and Alegreya SC Black.
It's weird how the orange rectangles look uneven when sized down to 600.
Neil Diamond wrote the song, Sunflower. Glen Campbell released it in 1977, but Neil didn't release it until 2018.-
