  1. Dorothy you have been really busy! I'm almost sorry I'm not American because the 4th of July is not one of my nation's celebrations?
  2. Monique thank you, I once had that site and somehow lost it while transferring to a new pc some time ago and I couldn't remember how it was called! I must be getting old or have too much on my mind ?
  3. Those are really lovely! I tried with CF Spark, but like Susan I didn't get any results that I liked, maybe it is that English isn't my native language and I can't describe precisely enough what I have in mind. I'll give it another try, oh well maybe.
  4. Thank you, I think getting some of your work printed is a very unique and lovely way to share it with family and friends. Showing on a phone (so small), laptop or online is different. I have done a couple of albums now, not only photos but the Alphabet from last year too. I always choose a flat binding, this uses thicker paper and the pages look really nice without them getting curvy. Maybe give it a try!
  5. Here is the promised layout of the unboxing of my album with the photos from my recent trip. It is just a simple page with a background of old letters but a bit reduced in opacity. The book arrived last Saturday and I took some photos when it was laying on our dinner table. The font is School and College outline, fitting for this album, hence some American embellishments. The sticker at the bottom is by Carole, a freebie long ago. Now I first have to clean my workspace, even a digital one becomes messy, at least mine if I'm working on a Workshop and doing other things besides that as well. I have to organize all the photos from my trip and name all the flowers in the photos too. I think the rest of this week will go into that! So don't expect much activity from me; at least this week's challenge about a layout with a story is not a favorite of mine! That is another one I'll skip.?
  6. Nice and it remembers me of our many visits to that area. You have visited many of the same places, gardens, castles museums as we have done over the years and indeed the Netherlands are pretty!
  7. I first got to know about it when we were in Switzerland, where our daughter lived at that time and it is a German program. I bought my first copy over there in German and updated until it stopped working with Windows. It was easy to work with and you could make great cards etc. I was really upset when it stopped!
  8. It makes a huge difference and it so easy to do!
  9. These little libraries are sprouting worldwide! Over here in the Netherlands we also have lots of them and in the village where I live I think we have at the moment at least 8 in different locations. You can take a book and return it after reading or keep it and replace it with a book(s) of your own.
  10. You are welcome in my purple mood! There are so many flowers that are more or less purple and like you I used the black layout last year.
  11. Thank you, I made that logo a long time ago when I first started making digital cards; way before PSP with a no longer existing cardmaking program (Data Becker) and I have used it ever since.
  12. Clearly I am in a purple mood and after making my card I did the Extra 7 layout also with those lovely purple/lilac/pink flowers and then had to change the template accordingly to accommodate them. Hue, Saturation and Lightness did the job here too. I didn't put much text on it, the flowers speak for themselves. The font is Bremlin. Yesterday my album came back from the printerservice and I will make a page with the unboxing of it and show it in What are you working on in June. See you all there. Carole thank you for this QP-Workshop, although it was the 3rd time for me it always brings new ideas seeing all the work of the participants and helped me to readjust at home after my trip.
  13. This is a card for a friend who has to have a complicated operation next week. It is not her first and she always says she hates all those very colorful or "funny" well wishing cards. So I made her a purple one by changing the colors of the card into something more monotone based on the purple of the flower. I hope this is more to her taste! It says that we are thinking of her.
  14. According to her comments they are doing well, but she only has them for a couple of weeks now, so...........
  15. Thank you very much. I searched when I returned home but not extensively. On the base of this link I think mine is a male because it had those intens blue tailfeathers.
  16. In general I do not like to use very small photos and therefore I placed only 1 photo in the frames. The color blue in the template invited me so to speak to use this photo of a bluebird, a beautiful bird that we don't have in the Netherlands. At first he/she was sitting on the ground between some grasses and I only spotted some blue and when I went to have a better look he flew up and settled in a tree to look what I was up to. I could come rather near and got a couple of photos of him or her. I don't know if there is a difference between the male and female birds. If someone knows, please tell me.
  17. That was a great reaction from your daughter and very rewarding for all the work you put in!!!
  18. What a great idea!
  19. For Non-Scrap 4 from yesterday I used some photos I took because my youngest granddaughter asked me to do. She loves and takes care of all sorts of plants and animals! I changed the colors of the template because the colors of the photos didn't get well with the vibrant greens of the template. I turned this into a card which I'll send to her. QP 5 Extra has again a photo from my trip and when I was in San Francisco I saw Alcatraz in the Bay. Even from a distance it looks so formidable and threatening! I made a small alteration of the template, b there were little hearts which I replaced with some skulls; this is no place for hearts!
  20. S = Strict, when he thought it was necessary
  21. The only thing I changed was the button in the righthand corner, I used the great seal of Arizona instead. The close-up photo of the condor is from the internet but the photo of the 2 condors is mine, they were perched on a cliff and you can imaging that it was impossible to go near them. We were lucky to have seen them at all and the other visitors including us were pointing at them and going WOW!!! There are not that many condors, the park is in the proces of relocating them to their original homelands. Added the text, font is Bodoni MT
  22. Just a quicky before I'm off to bed, I have mostly beach photos taken on days with much wind. We loved to go to the beach in the winter for a walk and in winter there are not that many people. After that coffee and something warm to eat, mmmm
  23. O = Original
  24. Day 2 and 3, again both again from my recent trip. I have so many photos that didn't make it in my album, so lots to use in the coming months. I must admit that after being away and not doing much scrapping I'm a bit rusty and have to think about how to do things..... I must be getting older! The fonts are Wiskey Cool and Better Brush.
  25. You will have to wait week or so before I have it back from the printer's, but I certainly will do so! (I have done so on previous occasions too)
