  1. I have altered the date boxes for the weeks to start on Monday. I have Carole's Custom Calendar script for 2 years now and it works great and is a timesaver too. The script gives the opportunity to choose a different format for the boxes and you can design them too. But I wanted a simple shape, nothing fancy so I can write things inside them. Therefore I have them on the full width of the page. I have spend some time to find a font that I like and that has the glyphs I want. For the time being I have put the month's name in the middle of the page, maybe I'll change it later. I will use the same font for all the months but change the color to match the pages. Font is Almond script. Now I'll have to see what the dates for all the holidays in 2024 are. Some of course are always the same, but not all. And I have to search the ones for Switzerland too, because some of theirs are not celebrated here and visa versa.
  2. I watched it too, but not all episodes. Sometimes we forgot or there was another interesting program on Dutch tv. We always forget to record and if we do, we somehow haven't the time to watch it later.
  3. And this are the pages March and April, by the way when I change the font I will change language too. One copy of this calendar will be in German and one in Dutch, because I have to make X-mas presents for different countries and languages! But it will be easy, only the months and the days of the week. All my pages will go by the same principle but the colors will change depending on the colors of the flowers in the photos.
  4. Here is the preview of January and February. I used the technique showed in the lesson with a twist. Instead of using 2 solod colors and the gradient faded background I used one solid color as a base and then chose a matching gradient on an extra raster layer and took it down and played with the blendmodes until I got something that I liked. Fot this 2 pages I used the same color and gradient only with a different blendmode. I will change the font much later in this project so I can do them all in one go. I will probably change the date boxes too because over here the week starts with a Monday.
  5. Carole the handout for lesson 2 for the diamond members is the same as in lesson 1!
  6. V = Village Inn
  7. Take good care of your husband and yourself and let PSP be the much needed diversion from your sores. We will be here waiting for you when you are ready.
  8. I gladly admit that you are one of the persons that have greatly influenced me together with Annie Tobin, who I still miss very much. We had some private contact too. Of course today I see more things that catches my eye and I then think what can I do with this or that. I'm still learning every day I do another project and that's why I like this weekly challenges here in the Campus, besides the things like cards that I do for specific purposes. When I look back to when I first started scrapping I hardly recognize my first attempts. Practice doesn't make perfect yet, but it certainly helps!
  9. Sue I love the photos of your fungi and mushrooms. I'm glad that I at least had chosen another topic for the photos.😉
  10. It is almost not funny, but I decided yesterday on the same bingo as Sue! It appears we are very often thinking along the same lines, sorry Sue but I had made this layout before I noticed yours. I had a busy day today and only now have the time to post mine. After choosing the photo's I wanted to use I made the meli-melo paper from 2 photos of the heather. Again just like Sue I don't like to tear my photo, so I only made one on the edge of my photo. I have created a couple of buttons and just chose one and adjusted the color, made the postmark and the uneven stitching which took me a long time. In the end I realized that I had a fill set on the pen tool!!! The edge punch is one of a series I downloaded quite some time ago and I haven't a clue where I got them. The frames are by Marissa Lerin, the postage stamp I created using my script and the font is Bremlin.
  11. M = Mustard
  12. I love how you altered the decorations on the corners into the ones on the title! Again you have such an eye for detail.
  15. Nice to read you have a Dutch fabric market! I am in the Netherlands and in my village it has been a long time ago that we had such a market. In the surrounding bigger cities it is not so common as 20 -25 years ago. Maybe there is one fabric stall on a weekly market that has al kinds of goods, such as fruit/vegetables, socks, flowers, fish, bakery products and so on.
  16. I = In-N-Out Burger
  17. Cristina thank you so much. It is a good feeling to actually be able to use the things we have learned so far. You are going through the same lessons for the second time and I already know that if this course comes up again in another year I will take it again to rehearse. I find it much more inspiring to do this with a (now small) group than on my own.
  18. Z = Zpizza a fast casual chain with organic and gluten-free options.
  19. Thank you and I can't say if it will be to difficult for you or not. I find it is a bit similar to learning a completely new language and a steep learning curve, but soon I was able to recognize some parts that are always in a script. I haven't been learning/studying something really new for a very long time (besides all the wonderful things we learn here in the campus) and I had a hard time getting in a sort of flow that works for me. But having said that, I find it highly interesting and very nice to get my old braincells into action again. When t all comes together into such a script that I undoubtably will use many times. I have used postage stamps on many projects and always made them by hand, not difficult but my script will come in handy and save me time, therefore I wanted all the options in my script to make the best use of it.
  20. I'm still in the Autumn mood, due to the weather we got this last couple of weeks. I used everything and added an extra square tile so I could use 1 photo in 4 tiles. The color palettte is from the October blogtrain on digitalscrapbook.com. The background has the texture spruce, the doilie is one of a set by Carole which I have for a long time and the fonts are Stencil and Arial. I made a cutout with a brush that is in the the brushes folder.
  21. Thank you and at least I now know what "ineffable" means! You are right about the frustrations but the wish to understand and use this scripting has by far outweighed it. But the course is not over yet, after this week comes the last module of 5 lessons. But I'll take a break for the Calendar Workshop, one of my favorites! Besides all this, your ribbon tree was perfect for a postage stamp.
  22. I have found a mockup that I liked and have used the photo of a California Condor (from the internet). I have seen those birds on my visit to the Grand Canyon, but it was impossible to get somewhere near them to take a photo. There were photographers with a mighty telelens that couldn't take a good photo of them either. I have given the bird a shadow because in the image is a shadow too with light coming from the left. When I have time I might search for another mockup for another photo, but I wanted to give this a try.
  23. Seeing all the above OOB's I will have to go and search for some mockups that I like and that will go with my photos. In the mean time I like to show what I have been up to with the scripting course. I have posted there my result but that is only visible for the members of the course, so I will post it here too. I have been making my first "real" script, not something for practice only. I made a postage stamp script that can use landscape, portrait or square format with a border for which you can choose the color. You can choose to have no text or with a simple text for which you can again select the color. When testing I used some X-mas related images, so I can use them this year. I have used the "ribbon tree", that Sue T has generously shared with us last year, for one of the postage stamps. Thanks again Sue! The Kinderdijk postage stamp was the one I used to code the script so I could adapt it for the other formats, colors and text.
  24. T = Texas Tavern in Virginia, I heard some one tell about this one when I was in the States.
  25. Like Jannette and Monique I live in the Netherlands but in the southwest of the country and we had much more wind. My village had only moderate troubles but nearby a lot of trees came down, we only had branches broken off and many leaves flying around; all that combined with much rain. Today it was dry but still windy and the ditches and wadi's are filled to the brim. It is advised not to go into forests/parks because of branches that may come off and paths that are blocked. The forecast for tomorrow is: rain! But the temperatures (around 52 F) are still mild for this time of the year and no night frost at all.
