Bee Kelly Posted Thursday at 02:18 PM Posted Thursday at 02:18 PM Hi, here is my Project #5. Thank you for all the lessons in this Boot Camp. All the pictures that have been submitted are inspiring to see what y'all are doing. 2 8
Donna Sillia Posted Thursday at 02:18 PM Posted Thursday at 02:18 PM Bugs - Photos are mine. Background and papers are from a grunge brush recolored to yellow, orange, pink and black. Scatters are also from a brush, and the little insects and the big flower are from CF. The CF font is called Lovely Insects with a layer style applied. 10
Sharla Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Project 4: Prudhoe Castle – the remains of a medieval castle on the banks of the River Tyne (Northumberland, UK). The photos are mine, the papers and elements are from a Jessica Dunn kit called Autumn Comforts, the font is Fondamento. 10
Ann Seeber Posted Thursday at 05:21 PM Posted Thursday at 05:21 PM (edited) A nostalgia moment for me; first with my family, then with school friends and even with my daughters when they were small. It was supremely corny but I did finally venture onto the rollercoaster with my friends! I felt so brave!! The poster is from the Facebook group Peter Gray's Magazine Covers and Posters which I follow. The title font is Century Schoolbook and the papers and accessories are from rae-BT-summer vacation. The information about the park was generated by MS Copilot AI. I probably should report my PSP2023 acted up with the journaling font that I had in a bounding box; as soon as I duplicated and rasterized it, it flew off to the right in a straight horizontal line. 😕 This was just with the raster version! I finally ended up converting the vector text to curves as a single shape to stabilize it. Edited Thursday at 05:24 PM by Ann Seeber 10
Krystyna Nicholls Posted Thursday at 08:25 PM Posted Thursday at 08:25 PM (edited) Day 9 - border selections. I am following the instructions to floodfill my borders white, but nothing is happening. Any ideas please? Think I solved it. I changed the match mode to opacity on the floodfill, and it worked! Edited Thursday at 08:42 PM by Krystyna Nicholls 4
Bee Kelly Posted Friday at 02:43 AM Posted Friday at 02:43 AM Susan Ewart, same with me for 2023 PSP. Finally went back to the 2022 version. Cleaned memory of PC up. Next can't get back into 2023. I will continue with 2022. 1
Bee Kelly Posted Friday at 02:48 AM Posted Friday at 02:48 AM Cassel, thank you for your support. It was very frustrating with the 2023 version. Now using the 2022.
Jacques Posted Friday at 04:26 AM Posted Friday at 04:26 AM (edited) Sorry for not having done all my "homework" for this "Scrap Bootcamp". I received several photos of my 3rd grandson and since my first "hobby" is to make a "painting" of him, I did not have time to complete the homework for this scrap bootcamp but I looked at you all and really appreciated what you did. See you next time.. Edited Friday at 04:47 AM by Jacques 6
Jeni Simpson Posted Friday at 10:35 AM Posted Friday at 10:35 AM Day 9 This time, the steamer, TSS Earnslaw, steaming her way to the wharf at Walter Peak High Country Farm. I used Jessica Dunn's Classy papers and elements, again, colourising the scatters to resemble water droplets...well, I can pretend they are, anyway I am actually enjoying the challenge of using one kit throughout. 8

Krystyna Nicholls Posted Friday at 08:11 PM Posted Friday at 08:11 PM Day 9 Project 4 - this was a trip to Poland that my sister and I took to meet up with my dad's family. We are here with his sister, Aunt Helena. 8
Cassel Posted Saturday at 02:43 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:43 AM @Bee Kelly Great result for your 5th project. I am glad you enjoyed the Bootcamp and the lessons. @Donna Sillia That is quite an interesting font that you used with your insects. I'll have to have a look at that! @Sharla Nice to see the pinked edges. Did you notice that the pinking started slightly off the left edge? You could hide this by moving the orange paper just a few pixels to the left and it will "disappear". @Ann Seeber Yes, that wrapped text is quite annoying when you need to edit it. At least, you had a rasterized version, which would not be affected. I guess, if you need to edit the text, you could always copy the text from the vector layer, and paste it inside a new shape/selection, and then edit it. It is not the most convenient but it is a workable workaround. @Krystyna Nicholls You figured out the solution to your Fill command before I had time to respond to you. And yes, that is a common occurence as I didn't consider mentioning the Match mode when I recorded my tutorial. I guess I should add the information below the video! @Jacques No problem for this Bootcamp. You know where to find the lessons! @Jeni Simpson Great layout. You will end up with a fantastic album! You still have a few days to complete at least 4 projects to be entered in the random draw. 1 2

I finally ended up converting the vector text to curves as a single shape to stabilize it. Expand I love these old posters and that time in life too. Is this the very park that the song Palisades Park by Freddy Cannon is named after? I remember loving that song when i was young. It was probably something my parents listened too, or even maybe heard on the TV show Happy Days (it was a favorite of mine, the older shows, before it "jumped the shark" - literally). You did better than me on the roller coaster. In 1972 we went to Disneyland and I was seated beside my mom on the Magic Mountain ride, the car slowly climbed the big hill and at the top of the hill I was so scared I tried to get out and my mom had to clamp me between her legs for the rest of the ride. Probably not very safe, but safer than me trying to climb out. 3 1

Now using the 2022. Expand Strangely 2023 is somewhat behaving this week. Still if I need to do text wrapping I go straight to 2022. It did randomly close a couple times today and yesterday, but I had a huge image open with 3-4 other huge images in the layers palette each with a mask group. I think it got overwhelmed. And I'm sure Photoshop elements is using resources in the background, at least that's what the CPU thingy is telling me. the of the best advice I got from Carole is that it's okay to have more than one version on the computer. I'm glad I did that this time, as I used to delete the older ones off. I'm still pretty new at this graphics stuff. 1

I'm almost finished project 4, hopefully tomorrow. 2

I never thought to change it to a shape though. did you manage to duplicate it first and keep one as a shape. Even duplicating it would change mine to one long line. 2
Jeni Simpson Posted Saturday at 06:17 AM Posted Saturday at 06:17 AM Day 11 I didn't know how I was going to create this layout using Jessica's kit entirely, but I found a way. No, I did not replace a whole letter; I instead replaced the tittle [the dot] of the letter 'i'! I was fascinated by the message on the side of the 'old and fragile' dray and used that to replace journalling. I selected a small square on my layout and copied the entire 3600x3600 paper into that selection, and it worked well; the design wasn't so prominent in the small squares. I loved using Jessica Dunn's Classy kit, colourising when the colours didn't work, and finding ways to play with this stylish kit was such a joy. Thanks, Carole, for the lessons, and thanks to the team here for your beautiful layouts and for giving me such an incentive to have fun with the challenge of using one kit for the entire set and the same two fonts throughout, The beautiful old Bernard MT Condensed for the headings and a modern Ink Free for the remainder. Anyone wanting to take a look at the Walter Peak High Country Farm can check it out here 5

I didn't think of that. It seems I rarely encounter this problem with my copy of 2023. Just lucky, I guess. 2
