DianeM Posted February 19 Posted February 19 We had rain a few weeks ago. It was a relief since the dry winds and low humidity created a high fire hazard. 4

Corrie Kinkel Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Seeing all this snow blizzards I'm glad I live in a country with a more moderate climate. In a part of my country there was some snow last week but where I live we merely had cold nights with temperatures below freezing point and icy winds. But that was it, now the weather forecast for the coming days says we will get a temperature of 16 C for a day on Friday. 2

But that was it, now the weather forecast for the coming days says we will get a temperature of 16 C for a day on Friday. Expand The weather pattern has changed so much. I used to get heavy snows every winter but I honestly can't remember the last time we had a dumping of 8 or more inches in one storm. There is a storm raging in the central plain states now that is heading east. The areas getting the snow on the east coast are south of me. I might get an inch overnight to add to the 2 inches already on the ground. It used to be those storms would move in a northeasterly direction which meant Indiana and Ohio would get hit before it got to New York (which is farther north than me). So far this winter Kentucky which is south of Ohio has been getting more snow than me! They had horrible flooding last week and the bitter cold temps this week and are in the path of this storm. In January my cousin that lives in southeast Ohio and very rarely gets blizzards/heavy snowfalls had over 8 inches in one storm. I got between 1 and 2 inches. 3

Susan Ewart Posted February 20 Posted February 20 We've had almost 3 weeks of -25 to -30 C, with winds making it feel much colder. I'm grateful to have plug-ins for my car at work. When I lived on the Westcoast (Canada) I never understood remote car starters, but now living in a cold province it's a luxury to have. We had snow before the cold snap, and now only sunny blue skies with no snow. I don't know which is better, cold and not having to shovel everyday or warmer and shoveling everyday. 2 1

The 16C is only for 1 day and afterwards it will be down to 11C with around 1C at night, unfortunately it will be more of the overcast and grey days plus some rain. I really don't know what I should prefer, your cold or our rain. 1

Once we had a garage it was a must for every house there after. You and I both live in cold snowy provinces so it's super nice have and makes the car last longer too. 3

Michele Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Too many people don't know how to have a conversation with people who have different views. We used to have civil talks and learned from each other. I still try. Oh, and it's really cold here. lol 3
