Doska St. Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 (edited) Hello Carole, is it ok if I open a separate topic for each module or should I show all modules in the same thread? Is there another gallery for me where I can post my work and forward it from there to this thread, like with Bootscamp (storage space)? Regarding this module, I still have the question of how to outline text with a color. I didn't find anything in the PSP help, nor did I search for a tutorial in the forum. Doska St. Posted October 28, 2023 Author Posted October 28, 2023 Hi Carole, I put module 3 right below. Tomorrow I'll take a break. I have implemented all the tips in the videos, they really save time. Fonts: Nouveau Rose JNL, und Oak. The Chrysantheme-Doodle is from Freepik. 3 1

Cassel Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 You can start a new thread every time, but it might be fun to have one thread for all your projects together. For the gallery, you already found the section for the Basic Scrap Course. 1
Doska St. Posted October 30, 2023 Author Posted October 30, 2023 Hallo all, I would like to use a 3D font in gold in the 4th module. How does this work in PSP and which file extensions (from other programs) can you open and edit in PSP, apart from JPG and PNG? If I want to become a Diamond Member, how long does this $1 payment last?

Some will be layered and can give great results. How to use Layered fonts is explained in this article. On the other hand, you can use regular fonts, and apply a bevel around to give it the 3D effect. Yet, another option would be to find an existing alpha in png format. As for the $1 trial, it is for 7 days and you can only use it once (but there is a special coming up for Black Friday). 1
Doska St. Posted October 30, 2023 Author Posted October 30, 2023 (edited) Hi Carole, Thanks for the quick reply. I managed to get a rounded gold font with 3D_Effects>Inner Bevel. Doska St. Posted November 6, 2023 Author Posted November 6, 2023 Good morning all, here is my module 5, which was really a challenge until I finally placed the rings satisfactorily 😉 but the new techniques were fun. We have a Dutch fabric market in the city twice a year which is very popular. Even if you're not a seamstress, you'll be happy to go there for photos, as it's a very colorful market. Bonnie Ballentine Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Nicely done, Doska! Are you enjoying Paintshop Pro? 1 1
Cassel Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Are you getting a bit more comfortable with the PSP tools?
Doska St. Posted November 6, 2023 Author Posted November 6, 2023 (edited) Thanks for asking Bonnie, yes the new advanced options are exciting.🤩 Edit: Sorry Carole, yes, I'll try it out and write down step by step tips in a ring binder for offline reading. I have another question: There is always an “automatically maintained” subfolder in my save folder. Do I have to keep it or can I delete it after I have finished my exercise? Doska St. Posted November 6, 2023 Author Posted November 6, 2023 Oh yes, and thank you very much for the lovely likes and hearts so far.😃👍💝🤗
Doska St. Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 (edited) Hello all, this time there are no flowers and bows, just oil cans and coal☺️. I wanted to do a technical scrap. As a child I lived on a railway line in the Black Forest, so I have a soft spot for the railway. The challenge was the text. For me, T couldn't be selected when I had selected 2 layers to change the font color. It could also be due to my graphics card, which was quite busy when I had to use the video and graphics program. The double shadow was also a bit difficult. Suddenly there were 2-3 shadows behind the object. I quickly deleted it and reloaded it and then checked the box for drop shadow with extra layer, then moving the shadow or blurring it worked. The papers are all from Creative fabrica. The photo was taken by a former work colleague Frank St., who photograph Trains worldwide. I have his permission. The deco is from Kisspng and pngtree. Most tools don't work if you have more than one layer active. When that happens, just select one layer.
Doska St. Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 Hi Carole, that's what I did then. I wanted the text color to be dark blue, but that didn't work for me as you showed in the video. Thank you for the confirmation. Then I left that black. It probably would have looked black when scaled down anyway.

I am in the Netherlands and in my village it has been a long time ago that we had such a market. In the surrounding bigger cities it is not so common as 20 -25 years ago. Maybe there is one fabric stall on a weekly market that has al kinds of goods, such as fruit/vegetables, socks, flowers, fish, bakery products and so on. 1

Doska St. Posted November 13, 2023 Author Posted November 13, 2023 Hello all, This is my last module in the basic scrap course. I had a number of difficulties, e.g. For example, the icons at the top and bottom of the LEVEL in the program have completely disappeared. It didn't appear again after restarting the program. Where can I make them visible again? My script icon also disappeared once, but I was able to restore it again. Furthermore, I couldn't mark my title text, then the text cursor suddenly became small (from 400 to 65, for example). Does this have something to do with the performance of my PC/graphic card? But we also had quite a few network connection problems over the weekend. Have you also had similar experiences? Ok and now, where should I continue, building on the course so to speak? In the master class or in the lab? Credits: on the Scrap Papers: DS Karry Dempsey & DS Stephanie Clemons Fonts: Futura black; Ink Free; Mango salsa 4
