Cassel Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 In August, our monthly theme is SPORTS. It should be quite easy to list various sports, sports equipment, or sports terms using all the letters from the alphabet. This is such a wide theme that we should have fun and probably go through several rounds (I think). Let's go! Because I want more people to jump in the game, I will ask to NOT post two consecutive answers (unless there is a 24-hour period without an answer since it could mean we are stuck)
Bonnie Ballentine Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 K = kitchen...a pickleball term...an area 7 feet on each side of the net. You are not allowed to volley while in the kitchen. Volley = hitting the ball before it bounces.
Bonnie Ballentine Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 N = non-volley zone...another name for kitchen...see K above
Dorothy Donn Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Q - Quidditch (Quadball) When J.K Rowling invented the sport of Quidditch for her Harry Potter books, she would not have imagined that a few years later it would be played in leagues all around the world. In our world, muggles can join in this game involving a quaffle, broomsticks, hoops, bludgers and the coveted golden snitch.
Bonnie Ballentine Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 R = rugby...one of the few sports I haven't tried.
Corrie Kinkel Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 W = Wembly Stadium in London where last Sunday the final of the European Ladies Soccer Championship took place and the English Lionesses triumphed.
