Thank you Mary. Let’s speak to Carole and see if she can help us out a bit.
Thank you Michelle and Christina. I am no artist like the rest of my family seem to be able to do naturally but I like to have a go every now and again.
Christina, maybe Carole could give us some hints and tips as I know she uses one. I have got use to freehand doodling with the pen but when it comes to right clicking and stuff I get all confuddled. I love vector work and anyting I draw is done this way because I can tweek the nodes to give a smoother shape or it would be like a spider had drawn it. Lol.
I have been drawing and colouring in Paintshop, trying to improve on shadowing etc. I also have a Wacom Intros which I would love to use properly as it might make a difference but it may not. So, all were done with a mouse. TFL.
E = Empathy. Not being so hard on yourself when you feel you haven’t been as good as you think you should be and give some self love for not making time for yourself.
Wow, such lovely work here. All fab work everyone.
My paperclip result. Two lovely dogs who are no longer here, brother and sister Eric and Maisie who belonged to a very good friend of mine. Both bonkers which Boxers can be but very affectionate. The paperclips I made, not sure abbout the pin, think that came with PSP. I used all my own created background papers and the trick with the paperclips but the real challenge was the shadowing with them. Not perfect but not too bad either. The font was DreamOrphans-Bold Italic but not sure whose. TFL.

Lovely work as always Sue. We are over a really cold snap for the UK, nothing like you get but I looked around the garden today and the Violets are out and the bulbs are coming up so, won’t be long now till Spring.
Love it Bonnie.

Lovely things going on in the forum. Everything is fabulous.
Hi Ann, reading your reply to Lynda , I to find 2021 crashs at everything it doesn’t like, especially plugins and even with help and a hot fix, did nothing to resolve the problems. In the end I just uninstalled 2021 and put the disc back in the box and consigned it to a cupboard and will just use 2020 as I know that works OK. I have 2019 as an alternative. Should have used the money in Carole’s store instead.

Lovely colours and result Linda.

Thank you Linda.
School friends from year 1961-1965. Some of us had not crossed paths since the day we left. Had a great lunchtime meeting and plan to do it again when safe to do so. As you can see, I did this in 2019 so they could all have a copy. TFL.

Fabulous work everybody. Lovely comments of support which does give people more confidence with what they do. I really love this forum for many reasons. xx
i have already put this on the FB page but thought I would share it here too. Whilst on full lockdown we managed to get some projects done. We looked at archs on the web and my husband said he could make one a bit more substantial. So within a day or so of getting the wood he constructed it. We then thought it needed something else and I always wanted an outdoor mirror so he attached one to a bit of trellis and screwed that to the arch. Just waiting for the plants to grow and make it look complete.
I used nearly all my own artwork. The vase of flowers was a black and white lineart drawing from Doverpublications. I used the plugin cybia to remove all the white background and make it transparent. I then coloured and shaded it. TFL.

During this strange part of the year I have been doing lots of things. Some with PSP and some not. Sorting the house, clearing junk, sitting in the garden, helping my DH, sewing, crocheting and papercrafting. I have made 4 mini scrap albums in the past couple of months (to give to friends) as well as other paper and card crafting things. I did use PSP to edit the photo’s though. All the flowers used for embellishments were die cut, coloured, formed and stuck together. I did make the lace frame, leaf branch, birdies on vine, extracted rose, laced border and basket weave pattern in PSP. The Dogrose image was one found on the public domain which originally was a black and white picture. I used the plugin Cybia in Alphaworks to remove the white background to make it just a transparent black lineart drawing. Using layers to add colour and then the cutout tool to change it to what I liked. I used the lighten and darken tool to give some tone. Sorry this is a bit long winded but i think I have done quite a lot over lockdown. TFL.
My day one. I am lucky to be able to visit here as not an awful long way away from where I live. These were taken a good years ago now. I used a free font-Prehistoric Caveman-PRJ7 from Dafont and a rock texture from Upsplash to fill it with Alien skin Eye candy 5 Impact Chrome plugin for outer rim. i gave the background a rock texture and masked it to give a rough edge. TFL.

I am in too. I was sure I had signed up for this but couldn’t have done, must have got side tracked . Anyway here now and looking forward to the challenges. Hope they come through soon..

Really pleased to hear this Carole. I thought it might have been atmospherics or something. Looking forward to next time. Take care, stay safe..
Thank you Christina. I love working with ‘nodes’ especially when trying to have a go at art. Once you suss out how to manipulate the nodes is halfway there to getting something to look how you want it too.
Here my Stellated shape image. To get the shape I added a couple more nodes in different places on the drawn out shape. I used Cassels small seed beads tube and ran the Vector Tube script. I added colour into the petal segments and a Ball made with the Balls and Bubbles plugin found in Effects, Artistic effects, Balls and Bubbles. I gave it a drop shadow and placed on a background colour to show up a bit. TFL.

Thank you Ann. Love the Roses and their colour you used on a very nice layout. I really like the artsy look layouts.
Sheila xx
Hmm, I find this colour very vibrant and sure that if it were a real rose of this colour I would love it but not something I would automatically choose to use for a layout. So, I played around with it. I filled a blank canvass with the colour and used a brush with black to make a doodle. I then used -Effects-Reflection Effects-Kaleidoscope and got a pattern that would be seamless so added this to make a patterned background. Still did not grab me and thought what can I do with it and came up with this frame, working back to front as I had not decided on an photo at this point and would normally built one from image out. I used a corner tube and a pearl to accent. Overall, considering I was not in love with the original colour, I am really pleased at the outcome. TFL
Sheila.
Love it. Fab layout Peggy.

Oh my goodness, I have just seen this notice. How terribly sad. Marlene certainly will be missed. RIP.
