I stick with christmas cards and used the angels that Carole had as a freebie over 2 years ago I think. The colors are not old fashioned christmas colors but I’m okay with that. I learned a new trick to make a quick diamond pattern! The font is Briantone Unique.
Cristina a pity that you cann’t join in, but here are sometimes more pressing matters than scrapping. Wish you happy travels and a fantastic family gathering for christmas!!!
Great entries by all, it is a pleasure to browse through them!
Here is my day 2 and I stick to christmas cards, although I can imagine the little squares filled with flowers for a birthday card and I will certainly make some too. As I don’t have enough winterphotos with snow I decided to use christmas elements from my stash and gave the squares a very small border to let them stand out a bit better. The font is Christmas Holland, very appropriate as my text is in Dutch. I made the back as well, but Carole said to upload just the front.
I need a lot of Christmas cards, so this is the first one. I kept it simple but because my photo had the tree on the left side I mirrored the scallopped mat to the right. I put an old streetlight instead of a ribbon and gave it some glow. The embellishment comes from the blogtrain kit of last year by DB Magnolia. Last year it came to late, so now is the opportunity to use some of it. The font is Christmas Crafter by Creative Fabric.
I haven’t done much scrapping, but I prepared my letter W. It’s all about a manmade little lake where you can swim in the summer and which at the same time has a separate part for nature. There are always birds a plenty and there is a wall made for nesting places for swallows. The lake was made because of the need for sand to heighten the terrain nearby in preparation for building a new neighbourhood with many houses.

I have a very minor but annoying problem! If I want to move a layer in the layers palette to the top of the list, it never does so. I know you once said to wiggle it a bit, but that doesn’t do the trick. Of course I can and do work around this by moving the layer that I want on top just below the toplayer and than move the toplayer down, or by the start of a page I put an empty rasterlayer on top so all the layers are below it and I can move my layer just under the empty rasterlayer, which I then remove when my page is finished. But it is a bit annoying and it takes move clicks.
If there isn’t time enough of course it can wait to next month; I have this problem since I started scrapping and was always planning to ask……
Thank you

Bonnie although our subject is very different for the layout we have thought along the same line!
I was still experimenting with the blending techniques and made this composition of 3 mushrooms. It happened to fit nicely into the sketch layout, so I took it from there and found 2 more mushroom photos in my collection. The background is made from a photo unto which I applied a big gaussian blur, different blend modes and a rainy overlay. The fonts are Bell MT and Better Valentina.
November 10, 2022 at 3:31 am in reply to: I need script help – knowing what I have and what it does! #86045I have a totally other manner of seeing what scripts I have and what they are doing. When I buy a script I print the readme file (only the part in English) and this also allows me to make notes on it. The whole bunch is in an ordner and lies next to my PC together with Carole’s book. It is maybe old fashioned but it works for me.

I have a couple of photos from a day out (last year) and the calf was laying to far away to get them all in the same picture, but using the first technique from yesterday’s masterclass I have them all together now. The frame is made with the simple frame script that I won last week. It’s a nice script and gives lots of options to make something complimenting the photo. I could have made a little label with a date or place but it’s bedtime for me now.

Marie-Claire that was a lot of work you put in but it paid off big time!!!
Sue as usual fantastic and I like the simple touch as a theme for this year’s cards very much. I have to start on mine, but due to my health problems I haven’t done much this last 7 weeks. I managed to finish my calendars but I still have to print hem. Hopefully the coming workshop on cards will give me some ideas. In the mean time I’ll enjoy everybody’s work.

Ann that’s exactly my feeling! I’ll only update if all this issues are solved.
Anne great result, what should we do without PSP…

In a little village called Zillis in the Swiss Alps is a very small unsightly church that has a gorgious ceiling of painted wooden panels from the 12th centuary. When I, a teenager, was on holyday there with my parents we took a sightseeing tour and among other things visited that church. I can remember vividly that my dad was laying on is back in the pews to take pictures of that ceiling. But in later years I forgot all abut it and didn’t remember in what part of Switzerland is was situated. Then my daughter married a Swiss guy and I have been to Switzerland many times since. When I’m there her parents in law always take me on a day out and on one of these days they wanted to stop for a coffee and did so in Zillis. After coffee before we went on and on their part almost as an afterthought said there was a church that they wanted to show to me and it was that church I remembered so well! It was no longer allowed to lay on your back in the pews to take a picture because of the enormous amount of visitors each year. To take pictures of a ceiling while standing upright isn’t that easy I can tell you!

April congratulations! You made a lovely card for the occassion, always handy to already have one when needed. Last year we had our 50th anniversary and what I had prepared was very useful in the end. Enjoy your day!!!!
I have registered too! Of course I have and some of you will know that I always have made my own cards one way or the other. I started doing so by using paper and pencils, cutting out embellishments and glueing them on etc. But now in the digital world I make my cards on the computer. I started with Data Becker that no longer exists. After a couple of years I bought my first PSP and from there on the rest is history. I always use my own photos, often of flowers and make my cards from scratch or use a template. I find it very rewarding that I can create cards that are special for the recipients. A couple of years ago I had handsurgery and was in a cast for 2 months, so I couldn’t make my X-mascards as usual. My family and friends understood but were, a year later, very happy to get their cards again!

Susan thank you; rehab will simply take more time, but first I have to sit out this bloody virus!
Jannette that is a very unfortunate situation with your husband, I hope he is in a home that takes good care of the people that live there. I haven’t had a good experience with carehomes when my mother had to go to one. Good to hear has made it through. In the mean time I got corona from my husband and only a couple of weeks after the hip surgery it is not that good. My husband is ok now, he wasn’t very sick, but it is hitting me harder. But it happened, so I have to sit it out, back to the paracetamol to get some relief from all the aching muscles and of course no fysiotherapie sessions this week.
Janette I hope you are ok. Unfortunately my husband has the coronavirus too! Not a good moment while I’m still recovering. Thus far I have tested negativ, but I am feeling rotten which a very sore throat and a nasty cough, everything is hurting. So we w’ll see how it will develop, at least my husband is getting better now and will be able to go out for shopping etc. Ordering on line is a life saver.
The V is for Vincent van Gogh, what else could it be as he is the most famous resident of my village, although he only lived here for a year. He started drawing here for the first time while staying with his parents. His father was the vicar in the protestant church and that church is now called the Van Gogh Church, where among other things expositions are being held. It even was the council chamber for a couple of years. Young Vincent apparently liked walking and draw up a map of the surroundings and everyting he found interesting. Most of the roads, waterways and other landmarks he drew are still recognisable today.
Bonnie those are cool! I admire everyones slogans, but for me making such things in a foreign language….. I find it a bit difficult, so I’ll wait and see what comes up.
