I always have problems with using shadows even though I try to save the settings I use in workshops. I will review the shadows workshops again and maybe something will sink in.

I didn't make any plaids for my kit, so I created one in my color pallette. Fortunately, the restaurant matches. The pictures are mine. The fonts that I used are FlamingoShadow, Arial, and Gumondo, I think. The center paper is a texture in PSP that was yellow but colorized to the coral color with a little tweaking with Flaming Pear, Kyoto color. The left side is from the plaid with a gaussian blur applied.

I am still using my kit papers and some of the elements that I made. The pictures are my own--one taken in the desert in Nevada and the other taken in Hilton Head. The crazy flower was made using the hue up and down brush which peaked my curiosity. It sort of fits my Art Deco theme. I should have made a list of all the fonts that I used, but I just sort of scrolled through my fonts until I found one that suited me. The orange font is Mesquite and the arrows are a preset shape. I used a Layer Style bevel on the title.

I forgot to mention that I filled the letters with Easter egg tubes. They didn't show up as well as I would have liked.

I finished Text 1 a day late, but it's finally done. I used Carole's template and papers from my build a kit. The picture was created a couple of Easters ago by me, although mainly I kept the background, grass and bunny. I created new eggs using patterns in PSP with Filter Forge Plastic and some bevel. The balloon was created from a Photoshop tutorial using PSP and the ribbon is from my build a kit. The sun is clip art. The journaling text is CopperInline and the title text is EastMarket. The frame on the picture is a combination of a gradient fill and the egg pattern from the big egg. I tried to make the patterns on the eggs Art Deco in style.

I finally completed Mask 7. I had a lot of problems with Chrome yesterday. The pictures are from my grandson who recently visited Mexico with his girlfriend. I used a flower brush for mask 1 and a watercolor brush for mask 2. For the background, I followed the embossed pattern in the tutorials. The fonts are morning love, broadway engraved and annabel.

My grandson is in Mexico and sent me this picture saying that it would be perfect if his dog was in it. I selected the dog from another photo and instead of extracting it, I used a rectangular mask and used black to eliminate the mask around Chooch. It was so much easier than extracting! The only thing I worry about is the proportion of the dog and asked Matt to let me know if it is too small. If so, I will use a larger picture of Chooch.

I used a couple of photos sent to me by my grandson. He lives in Las Vegas and loves the desert. The picture of him sitting on rocks is actually an extraction of him sitting in a tree. I then sat him on some rocks that I had photographed for texture and masked it. I liked the smaller sized background as it reminded me of rocks you would fine in the desert. The large font is called Rainho from deeezy.com, the smaller font is from my Hallmark program appropriately called Handlebar. The small bicycle in the corner is a ding from wmtransport font.

Carole, Thank you for the advice on the skis. Since I had used the flip it up script, shadows were already made. Instead of using drop shadow again, I manipulated the shadows already there. Do you think the new one is better, and how can it be improved?

Carole, regarding my Eva project, I used a mask, but added a red raster under her picture. It was really an experiment because I didn't like the black mask. I was not happy with the antique paper that I made so I will keep trying to perfect it.

Another ski picture. I really don't care for the mask snowflakes but I did the best that I could. The background is a gradient from group that I downloaded from Resource Boy(free on his website) called 80's gradients. The font is Jelly Bean that I believe that I downloaded from Creative Fabrica. The snow is from a brush that I downloaded many years age for Photoshop and just imported into PSP. The snowflakes are from Hawksmont. All the brushes were free.

Mask 4 The background color was a color I picked from his face and overlayed with a glitch overlay from deeezy.com. The font is Hornswaggled with a layer styles bevel, rastered then drop shadowed and bevel again. The skis are from DS Janet Kemp. I used the Cass lifted up script and filled them with red and a brush pattern. The photos are my own of my grandson, Thomas. Carole, any comments on my use or lack of use for the drop shadows would be much appreciated.

I scanned my mother's hs graduation picture and fixed it up a little. The font is Morning Love. I tried to make a vintage paper using the kaliedoscope to get the plain color, and some cracks with a brush and outlines with a grunge brush.

The pictures are of my husband taken at the Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas. I made the plaid from a desert picture using the workshop on making plain from a picture. I flood filled the white frames with a dark glitter pattern. The font is Gowdy Stout made as a selection on the background of one of my Red Rock pictures. It has an inner and outer bevel and drop shadow. The bottom and top cutouts were made using Carole's edge brushes, then beveled. The succulents are a tube.

Last year we visited my daughter in Savannah which is a foodie heaven. The background is from a DS kit called "Golden Hour." The fonts are Flamingo Shadow, Franciehmkbold and Farewell Angelina. I made the plaid border using another paper from the Golden Hour, and of course, I had to play with Carole's edge brushes. The heart holder is from my vector objects, the glitter is my own brush. The top edges were made with Carole's heart punch brushes. The pictures are mine taken at the restaurant(one of the best meals that we have ever had.)

My daughter asked me to make an itinerary for when her best friend visits her in Savannah, GA. I decided to make a card with the itinerary inside. So far, I have made the back and front of the letter size card. It will be printed on card paper. Heidi loves pink and loves glitter. The glitter is from Creative Fabrica, the plane and tag on the luggage are from Digital Scrapbook, the newspaper mockup is from Deal Jumbo, the suitcase is from lsj designs, the tiara a free brush from Brusheezy, the old maps are of old Savannah downloaded from the Library of Congress, and the the airport map is from Google. I plan on using a color version of Heidi for the inside which hasn't been started yet. Beth, fortunately, gave plenty of time. My husband did the proofreading and saved me some embarrassment.

Next year will be our 55th wedding anniversary. The stone is emerald created with Filter Forge. I scanned the picture from our wedding album (June 8, 1968). The lace is my own which I scanned some time ago. The hearts are from Chandahlia and the fonts are from deeezy.com.: Broadway Engraved and Gomuno Bubble. I used layer styles for both fonts.

I always use Avery templates for my cards: half fold (8.5 by 11) and note cards single fold for the 4.5 by 5.5 cards. The card paper is scored so all I need is a guide to the centers. They were downloaded as PSD files which I saved in a pspimage format. Since I don't have any pictures of recent grads, I downloaded the gnomes, balloons and papers from Chandahlia.com. The inside bow is a tube recolored. The script font is FrancineHMKbold which the Hallmark Card program loaded into my fonts and also Castellar which I believe came with the computer. I added additional sides to my card to make it fit my template. All the schools that I attended are blue and gold.

I wanted to use one of my pictures of my son and grandson(who is now 15), but I also wanted to learn what Carole was going to instuct us on using the stork. The background is a gradient, the font is Baby Olivia with a gold stroke. The ribbon was created from a Janet Kemp paper from Digital Scrapbook. I added scallops to the selection and then created a pattern that I used for my frame. My cards are printed on half fold card paper, size 8.5 by 11 that is scored for folding . I have a card template that I converted to PSP that has a line denoting where the fold will be. It works very well with my printer. BTW, I am so happy to be a new Diamond member!
